The only "break" I took was probably at the beginner level. I got DBD from PS Plus, decided to play a few matches, forgot about it (not for lack of interest, mind you), and then a few months or a year later I started playing regularly.

I took a break from November 2019 to July 2020 because I didn't have a computer.
I took another (shorter) break from December 2020 to February 2021 because I was getting burned out.
Those are the only two 'breaks' I've taken since I've started playing.

When the resident evil chapter broke console. Didn’t even play anniversary much to get crowns and cake cause it was so unbearable

Literally just a week.
We went on holiday and had no WiFi. I was so glad to finally be back at the seaside, that it didn't bother me one bit.

After the oni came out I took a break and didn't play the game seriously again like until may or June of this year
The game was just extremely boring and the releases after that just didn't make a return appealing

I haven’t taken a break, instead, I’ve just reduced how much I play. I used to play 5-6 hours a day, 5 days a week, and now I can only stomach 2-4 matches a day at most and find myself more interested in watching YouTube.

i'm on my longest break right now, and i will stay on break until SBMM is either fixed or removed
playing against survs way better then me and then proceeding to curbstomp the next team because they're all fresh installs regardless of what killer i use isn't fun, combine that with performance issues and a myriad of other crap has left me burnt out atm

Almost a 1 year of break for a single unresolved old bug: 'infinite loading'. I still don't know how this trouble was resolved...

Yeah the 5th anniversary event was mostly for high end PC players🤑

Same here I can only stomach playing survivor a few matches before getting bored...sad sbmm killer has killed the most interesting aspect of this game for me🙄

It’s not SBMMR that’s the problem, it’s the fact that playing killer feels like a chore rather than fun most of the time. It’s also the maps and the BS tiles that come with them. So basically, it’s really the balancing of the game that is the main issue, which will probably never get better.

It wont get better another competitor will show up before they bother to balance the game...even then all.it is going to take is a new dlc to break the game again🤣

Currently. SBMM makes playing killer feel awful and I can't stand playing against the autopilot killer meta of Tinkerer + Ruin + other regression perk stack as survivor. Hoping SBMM gets turned off but if they nerf/rework Tinkerer to not be so braindead I'll probably start playing again.

a bit after the legion chapter i stopped playing for like 1-2ish months, game got very stale (and well, old legion)
although ever since the RE chapter ive been very on/off playing dbd, i can only really play like a couple matches every other day or so anymore

Yeah at this point it doesn't seem like there was enough backlash and too much dev time was invested in it for them to scrap it now. So I've just given up playing killer altogether and am just hoping they nerf or rework the big things that make playing survivor unfun and frustrating now. Playing against Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer every game isn't exactly fun or enjoyable :/

I know, it’s why I will only main survivor and dabble as Trapper now that he’s gotten minor buff. It’s obvious they want killers to be difficult to play and survivor to have the advantage. Might as well as take advantage of that as well.

I've been playing DBD since the start of 2017 and I frequently take 2-3 month breaks due to the toxicity.
I've only been playing regularly for a couple weeks now but I'm already thinking about taking another break. Ever since MMR hit I'm seeing the same meta builds over and over, which is wearing me down very quickly. And at high MMR I'm getting tbagging TTV players in half my matches.
Props to the perkless Blight who demolished me last night though. I love Blight, but playing him perkless takes real testicular fortitude.

Im currently on a break and dont plan on coming back to this game. i follow updates and stuff but thats it. The new midchapter looks interesting allthough im not to sure if the spirit nerf is to harsh. doesnt matter though, cause i dont really care anymore.

Yeah my desire to play killer has just died now...money I dont spend on cosmetics can go to other games🤑
It feels like to little to late to start trying to buff killers right now...well I am sure hag and Myers are going to get their addons nerfed to hell🤣
I haven't played put of principle the last couple of days...probably for a good while unless something changes to make killer fun to play again🙁

I took a break for a couple of weeks a month ago or so, before MMR. Very rough time, very rough games. Consistently getting camped, consistently bad teammates, consistently getting tunnelled. The game that made me have that break was against a Nemesis and there was a Zarina who used 2 vaccines at 5 gens without even going down. One of the reasons she got infected was because she camped and wasted shack pallet. I decided to grab a vaccine and keep it so Zarina didn't use all of them. Got camped, managed to unhook myself but was then tunnelled HARD so I dc'd (my friend took a down and he still went after me), saw the guy was a ttv and asked why and he said 'that's what you get for using a key'... He thought the vaccine that I was carrying was a key and tunnelled me out, when all I wanted to do was stop my teammate from using all of the vaccines. It was so blatantly a vaccine and the fact he was livestreaming himself being so aggressive to me like... who wants to watch that???
That one game put me off for so long. I will never get bored or annoyed at the core game, it has and always will be the players that make me hate the game.

About 4 months around the time of the Clown rework.
Direction of changes, including map reworks, was horrible in my eyes and it felt like they didn't listen to the community at all on big issues like performance; they seem to be listening a bit but there's definitely work to be made on that now.
The game just didn't feel fun; reworked maps just end up with huge deadzones and random spots that have collision for no damn reason (for example as both killer and survivor the old god window with the ramp on Crotus Penn Asylum costs me so many hook stages and downs as a result of its inconsistencies, but also gifts them to me because it's nonsensical)
This latest patch is the first one where I've been happy with a change for a while and I'm teetering on the idea of taking a break, but now FOMO is kicking in with regard to rank reward and the rift which just makes it all feel so much worse seeing as the game now feels straight trash to play thanks to SBMM.

Longest was for about 8 months or so. Was playing the call of duty game at the time, I occasionally play an assassin creed game every 4 or 5 chapters or so. Will be having a break soon when Vanguard comes out.

I bought the game early 2019 and played about the whole year until I get tired and only came back to the 4th anniversary. I played until I prestige Felix and stopped totally playing again until 5th anniversary. But I'm now playing since then, I miss the game!

2017 game was just unbearable for the killer. 1st chase - 3 gens done. You finally pick up survivor - DS. 2nd chase - all gens done and person gets adrenaline and if you managed to down him they'll use insta heal to make him healthy from the ground. If you managed to hook anybody - 2 person borrowed time with 40s endurance
Also survivors only need 1 gen to be done and then use 4 BNPs to insta repair for gens and escape. 1 minute games were real

For veteran killers yeah it sbmm is pretty much a stressful sweatfest...with survivor at least you have 4 people to help out🙂

Sbmm is supposed to level out more when you play survivor...its just a pipe dream as killer☠
