Is this supposed to happen when going against Blight?

I've noticed sometimes when I go against Blight, when he uses his power and collides with objects, a Blighted effect appears on my character. I get no benefits or advantages from it, it's just a visual thing.

This doesn't happen all the time, it has only happened to me twice. One Blight I went against was using Blighted Crow and Compound 33 and the other was using Alchemist Ring and Compound 33.

I'm just wondering if this is supposed to happen or not.

    compound 33. makes u slow when he slams near ya. also make pallet breaks with his power faster? slower? i dont remember.

    The description says it slows the survivor, but I don't actually think it does. But the most important part of the add-on is faster pallet breaking that you can use on the first rush, so I don't really care that that doesn't work as advertised.
