How do you react when a killer gives up?

Genuine thought I have always had: how do people react when a killer gives up? By gives up, I don't mean disconnecting mid-match, I mean when a killer actively stops playing the game midmatch for whatever reason but is clearly still at the controller/keyboard. Maybe they just afk in a corner, or hit something out of anger, or wait by the exit gate to open it... How do you react when you're a survivor against one of these killers?

I relate </3 Hasn't happened to me a lot, but when it has, I've usually given them my item as a "gift", or just let them hook and kill me.

90% of the time I feel bad, it sucks and sometimes quite simply - the deck was stacked against them. Map RNG being the main culrpit of this

The other 10% is when the killer gives up because one thing doesn't go their way; like losing their ruin early or not being able to immediately catch the 1st survivor they chase.

Listen I know losing ruin sucks but you shouldn't bring a hex perk and expect it to not get cleansed.

    Context is pretty important.

If it is happening a lot, it's annoying.

If it happens after the killer makes a misplay or a mistake, it's funny.

If it's because the game is just cucking them even though they're playing pretty well I feel bad.

Context is typically important, but I'll feel bad in one of two ways almost 100% of the time: out of sympathy or pity.

Typically, I feel bad because I know there is another human being on the other side of that screen who is not having a good time. I know real well how it feels to get wrecked. So in the rare times when I'm a part of the group doing the wrecking, I usually say "Poor <insert killer>" out loud.

While I do feel bad sometimes, I just do gens, I dont have the time to care too much about it.

I feel bad for the killer

Just had this happen to me today with a Huntress. I used a Syringe mid looping and was able to heal while I looped her and then she stopped and stared at me and then left me alone. Got looped pretty hard by the other survivors and then she just went to the exit gate and faced it. I always feel bad because I've been where they are so I crawled up to her and gave her my item and told her to come with me and dropped pallets for her to break and then I died for her. I don't really care about escaping or winning but I hope that the one kill they get from me helps them feel a little better.

I end up feeling bad. Sometimes I'll stay during the EGC to give them a kill and if I have an item, I will give it to the killer.

Just try your best and get some Bloodpoints, I wouldn't consider it funny or them being a baby but they'll get better the more they practice and unlock perks by not giving up.

If you put in the effort you'll get experience as a that Killer and BP.

Just don't give up, if you do survivors will probably extend the game longer for Altruism, Breaking all Totems, 99'ing every gen, opening every chest and getting basement time.

It could turn a 5 minute match into a 45 minute drag because you walk away from your controller or try to act friendly.

I would say it depends, but as a killer player i can say it has happened to me already, and im just a couple of months old playing around.

So far the only reason i have given up out of geting angry its full groups that just are there to use me as their source of fun, i can understand people being better than me, thats a given in every game, but when instead of all 5 of us trying to just have fun with each other, i become the source of their fun at the expense of my own enjoyment its just frustrating and anoying.

I got on a clearly 4 man squead who wrecked me super hard, i new they where when i got gen rushed like crazy, but the moment they just started to body block me all the time, flashlighted me and so on i just got anoyed, worse that at the end of the match the little bastards spent 5 minutes waiting for me at the entrace to just clearly hump the ground like crazy and laught some more (at least i didnt gave them the pleasure to se me there), i just ended wandering around kicking doors to cool down a bit and let them.

If they gives up it means they have no fun in that match so they prefer to do something else being afk. I won't try to get his attention in that time. I'll just let him be. Open the exit gate and leave. I feel bad for them only if survivors makes fun of killer. As killer, if I get ridiculous genrush and 0 hooks I'll definitely won't try anymore. AFK active, I don't give a #########. If I don't have fun then I won't let them have fun harassing me. Simple. Better things to do than continuing a boring match.

I've never had this happen. They either farm with me, camp a hook, or DC. I've never seen them hide or sulk.

I’ve been there before… you know.. the classic go face a corner because I’m legitimately sad. This happened yesterday when I was facing a blight. Had a decent chase going then he had me dead to right during a rush but I somehow juked it.. they immediately went and stared at a corner and my heart broke so I stayed by him until I accumulated 3 crows trying to get his attention. Gens started popping then they realized what was happening and literally everyone came over to see if the blight was okay. My hopes are that they will realize It’s all for fun and begin a friendly chase again and if they catch me they can kill me or if they don’t I’ll sacrifice myself to endgame. Eventually they turned around at the end of the match and I offered myself to be hooked since they clearly didn’t want to be chased. They knocked me down and carried me to the exit but I started crawling back in so they picked me up and dropped me at the edge of the gate but I managed to avoid the suction and started crawling again but then they finally dropped me again and it forced me out so he won in my books and I concede.. I admit defeat for that beautiful soul<3

In all honesty he probably should have hit me in the first chase but it’s Dbd and some jank lag screwed him over.. we’ve all been there and sometimes it’s just the final straw.. the crappy icing on the cake… to make matters worse especially for killers it 4v1… they’re all alone… it’s not like a sports game like online NHL where my buddy gets hit and tbagged but I’m there to rock him back, tbag and then fight lol. In Dbd killers are all alone.. a one man team just trying to have a little fun… literally the biggest reason why I don’t BM killers in this game because.. I’ve been playing for years so I’ve been BM’d ruthlessly but learned not to take it to heart.. just some people’s way of making their own fun but unfortunately skin can’t always remain so thick and there is a ripple effect that can harm someone’s psyche and then something as simple as jank lag robbing you of a hit or whatever can depress the hell out of you and In the corner I want to go… self preservation.. Outplayed or robbed by a jank game.. so I’d rather hide in a corner to avoid any chance of repeating history by having someone rub it in further by “outplaying” me or what have you. No rules written in stone but I enjoy the unwritten respect etiquette I’m Dbd… I don’t judge people if they don’t want to follow along but when I’m a survivor for example I always keep it in mind that the Killer I’m facing is a person just like me that has feelings and just wants to have fun even if that means that I escape or they whoop my butt and get me on that hook:p

I know, I know.. maybe a little too deep but y’all get what I’m saying right?

Finish gens and leave as fast as possible. No point putting someone through anymore suffering. I've been on that end of the stick before, I am not about to start doing it to someone else.

I don't feel any way about it, but I take it as a sign they want to end the match, so I try to finish up and leave.

Depends on the circumstances what's going on. If my solo queue teammates are bullying the killer then I do feel bad. I think we've all been there when we've been bullied by survivors - it isn't fun.

If the killer gives up simply out of frustration then I'm indifferent really. If I can tell they're over the match during or before EGC, I don't drag it out, I leave asap as we both most likely want to move on.
