Soooo..... Yeah, that just happened, increased the terror radius to 32m


With that in mind, we’ve made the following changes:  

  • You can no longer shoot until you have fully aimed down sights 
  • Increased the delay after cancelling your shot before you can start a Basic Attack  
  • Decreased movement speed penalty while aiming down sights  

I agree with alot of the upcoming changes in the upcoming update, but nerfing deathslinger without giving him any compensation is not the way to go. RIPslinger :(

    I think the terror radius nerf was unnecessary, but the other nerfs definitely were in my opinion. He was arguably the most oppressive killer in chases.

    So now we can't quick scope anymore? That was the most fun part of playing this killer

    I don’t really play Deathslinger when I go Killer, but I do think as survivor having to wiggle to avoid a quickscope was kind of annoying.

    I’m fine with the nerfs BUT they could have increased his turning rate while aiming as well, imo.

    Terrible changes that no one asked for. Just like nerfing Pyramid Head's shockwave on release, nerfing Hillbilly's rev, or nerfing Freddy's trap-laying speed. Nobody wanted those changes, nobody asked for them. All they do is make the power feel bad to use.

    This is what happens when BHVR listens to mobs instead of balancing the game. Notice how there's no mention whatsoever about overperforming killers. They're just nerfing(and not reworking) killers simply because people say they feel bad. Deathslinger especially needs buffs in other regards. We don't know the numbers yet, but if his ADS movement speed doesn't receive a very large buff that puts him in the Demogorogon or Nemesis category, he's pretty dead as a killer. Even then, DS having only one shot really needs to be addressed, especially if they're removing most of DS's advantages over other ranged killers.

    I don't understand why anybody would ever choose him over huntress now? His rapid aim was what made up for his weakness at pallets/inability to down survivors if you cant reel them in, and his shorter range.

    I was not very good with slinger, now I will be even worse. Survivors can wiggle like crazy (very unrealistic movement) while running and it makes it very hard to shoot them.

    The only thing I can think of is if you really want to use Exposed or other M1 exclusive mechanics or Undetectable on a ranged Killer.

    They should just change M&A to be unable to decrease a TR below 20 or 22m.

    These changes will likely bring slinger down to release-level trickster in terms of uselessness.

    The 'you have to aim for a bit' change itself is fine. but in combo with a bigger TR it won't do anything. If they want people to aim for longer, you have to give them the chance. The main complains about slinger were about people faking shots to gain distance. Which in practice meant that survivors either strife too far to the ide or quick-crouched, actively losing ground.

    With these changes Survivors can just press W and get away, because you can't make ground while not aiming, and as aiming takes time they'll easily will be outside your TR by the time you can shoot.

    Keep the aiming delay, but throw out the other changes.

    Maybe playing against him now will actually be fun. He will no longer be able to zone survivors making them lose distance for an easy m1. I’m liking where BHVR is going with these balance changes.

    He's needed these for a long time. Everyone has some sort of penalty to avoid them doing what he and Pyramid head do. Imagine if Huntress could just whip out a hatchet and then put it away instantly to down you. Even do just that but with Iri head. It'd be nerfed quick simply because of the lack of counterplay and how unfair it is. These nerfs are justified I didn't expect the terror radius nerf but i'm glad for it since it made him annoyingly frustrating to play against with Monitor.

    its not about killer mains or survivor mains. the simple fact is, that the majority of the playerbase mostly plays survivor, so killer nerfs will always be welcomed and recieve good feedback. Even if its not always reasonable.

    Yeah this is the only change I really don't like. They've taken too much from him without any compensation. I hope they rethink this a little.

    Yes you need to see it in action because you have not experienced what he will be like y'all just wanna create drama and call any killer dead there was 20599 threads saying spirit is dead after nerf too which is like far from truth

    I agree with Slinger. Not so much Spirit. Spirit is still very much a strong killer.

    Maybe they should've kept the ability to quickscope, but remove the ability to cancel then immediately M1. That would've been fine imo
