Boon totems are relightable?(is that even a word??)

So if killer is running NOED that didn't activate thanks to a survivors boon totem but then that survivor leaves does that mean that totem could potentially turn into NOED? 😲

Aw man ;-;

Killers can defend their totems. Survivors can not.
The only way boon perks would work is if the survivors can rebuild them.
0 -
Sadly, NOED only procs when the Exit Gates are powered, there's no other check...so if a totem is not available then, it will not proc once the survivor dies or leaves the trial

Not always. You know how many times RNG screws me and my totems get cleansed right at the beginning before I even take my first six steps out of spawn?

"Good" is relative, I consider "fun" Perks not really good for the most part. (I think you are referring to Blast Mine and Flashbang)
And hopefully the Boon Perks will at least be worth the time to bless a Totem. However, for me, the Perks must basically be OP so that I would run them. I am not running Hex-Perks for years as Killer, simply because I dont want my Perks to be disabled, so I will probably not start to run Totem-Perks as Survivor.
And I highly doubt they will be OP. (Because the Devs need to keep in mind that 4 Survivors can have them)

So either way the killer looses a hex.....idk, i feel like there should only be a 1x boon bless limit per trial and if the killer finds it and it was previously a hex, that it regains that hex, this would at the very least give a meaning to the killer in finding them.
I think the whole boon totem design was not given much thought
1 -
Turns out they are stronger than Hex perks. What a surprise!
5 -
So survivors can destroy the totems but the killer can't do anything about the boon totems? Because the survivor can just light it up again? Make sense behaviour.
3 -
So... Killers get a new objective. And survivors get minimal drawbacks to losing a boon totem, especially when they can gain 90% to healing and safety from aura reading.
The few select killer buffs do not cancel out this crazy power swing in the survivors' favor. Yikes to the queues.
3 -
not stronger individually, but because there's 4 of them and they can be infinitely relit, they're hilariously busted. Knew BHVR couldn't create such a good patch without ######### it up in some way.
3 -
So, survivors have basekit Undying for their totems while killer has to rely on RNG and pray that survivors don't spawn on his totems? Pretty good job so far.
4 -
You will never give up the idea that BHVR cares much more about survivors, do you?
Now, the perks do sound strong. The healing one in particular. But better than or just as strong as a map wide regression on any gen that isn't being worked on? I'm really not convinced.
Self Care takes 32 seconds to heal yourself. If you instead bless a totem and then heal yourself that way, you're going to heal yourself at quite the similar speed.
It will be good once you get more usage of it then just the initial heal, but at that point, I'm not convinced yet that it will be stronger than meta perks survivors already have. But even then, place the totem somewhere near your objectives, and it will be easier for a killer to snuff out. Place it somewhere farther away, and survivors will waste a bit of time running to the boon totem.
The second boon totem that hides scratchmarks and auras I can hardly judge at all. It could be good, but having such an effect restricted to a certain area, could also make the perk not worth it.
I'll have to see how it plays out in the ptb. But I hope the devs are open to feedback if they do turn out to be too strong, because they certainly don't sound weak, that's for sure.

Yeah exactly. i would argue those perks are fairly good power wise, even if not meta.
That's fair, but they can't be too op since they can be reblessed.
And from the looks of it, they do seem pretty strong honestly.

totem effects can also stack within each other so if you are in range of 2 boon totems then you get even more speed.
1 -
The heals of the first one stack. The second one can be applied to 4 totems if every survivor equips them. Turning huge areas of the map into scratchmark free zones.
Oh and Hex perks are gone once they are cleansed. Boon totems are not. Survivors have perks to find totem spots, killer gets just a sound when he´s close to a boon totem.
2 -
So this pretty much means infinite boon totems, also meaning survivors have no reason to cleanse dull totems anymore.
1 -
Ok regarding the perks, they give up a perk slot for a perk that helps them find totems. So that's not a biggy.
What do you mean when you say stack? You mean when multiple survivors run that boon perk and have a boon totem activated? Because that sounds quite situational, however I do agree that could definitely be a problem. They probably shouldn't stack.
Now, I have to admit I did underestimate the range of 28 meters, because it's a radius, so the effective area range is actually 56 meters.
Of course, I think we still have to play the ptb to make a final judgement. But I do actually agree, at least the Boon perk that hides scratchmarks and aura will probably be busted and too strong with that range.
They need to tone down the effect in some way or reduce the range by quite a bit. And probably for the healing perk too. But again, this is not my final opinion on the matter yet. I also don't want them to be perks that nobody uses after the first few days.
These perks would be fine though arguably if survivors had a second objective to do. I am still hoping that the Mori changes will have some second survivor objective tied to them, and that they happen soon.

Ok yeah that will definitely be a problem. Wasn't there once this insanely busted problem of being able to self care yourself within like a few seconds with Botany and We'll Make it? I mean not sure if it could ever get that bad, you'd probably need really good totem placement, but that definitely reminds me of that.

If they can be reused, this is a problem. We'll see PTB results thought.
Can't wait for the fix to be a new perk released for killers: "When you turn off a boon totem, all survivors are exposed 60 seconds".

well as a killer main, if the boon totems releases in this state im never coming back to the game

Man, this comment did not age well...
You poor, naive child in past-tense...

Survivors don´t get a secondary objective. Instead, killers will have to deal with even more. Just imagine that all 4 survivors use boon perks. The killer will either have massive drawbacks or cleanse the boons non stop. Which will leave him with even less possibilities to slow gens down.

Such an awesome idea from the devs.
At high MMR, ruin + Undying last most of the time 30 seconds top.
Now, with these boon totems, everyone will be looking for totems to light them, they will find ruin/undying even faster.
And well, no scratch mark on 1/4 of the map is unbearable lol... it will be impossible to down a survivor in a jungle gym when the totem is enlightened, creating total safe places around undone gens if survivors are smart enough.
I'm wondering, with the current state of the game, how this idea could merge in a think-tank... Do the game designers even read reddit/this forum and watch some streams from high skilled players ?
Honestly, i won't play killer anymore pretty soon i guess, and many will join my boat.

I was thinking that too. With so much more totem interaction, there will be a huge rise of people looking for hex perks. I am thinking about changing off ruin/undying for my high mmr Freddy. Maybe just the basic tinkerer/pop would be safer. I would go NOED for an end game Blood Warden play. But, well, same problem. I think Deadlock gained A LOT of stock. I was kind of meh about the perk, but honestly, 30 seconds of lock is probably more value at higher mmr. Dare I say I might need to get rid of my BBQ for Corrupt.
Just the thought of the sweat makes me feel stressed. Lol.
