God bless you Devs. That's all I have to say. You get a lot of flack, and some of it is from me sometimes I will admit, but this update is the best I've ever seen besides when End Game Collapse came.
Seriously, you've done phenomenal with these 2 part update. It's amazing, you've done amazing, I cannot possibly undersell it.
If updates are this impactful from here on out, and perks/Killers will receive changes like this more often and in higher amounts, this is EXTREMELY good for the game.
Seriously, great job everyone. You should be proud, I want to give you as much praise as warranted because I REALLY want you all to know how good this is. This is what people want, so please by all means keep it up.

I was hoping to see someone post something like this because I wanted to say that I absolutely LOVE it. Literally no sarcasm, just honest to Entity a VERY good job so far (I had to add a lil sumsum’n in there to top M. Cote) ;p
Its impossible to please everyone since that’s life but mmmyyyy Entity these dev notes for future updates are the closest I’ve ever seen to quad iridescent.. well played.

The ONLY potential issue I have is Slinger maaay have been a bit overnerfed, depending on his addon changes, but aside from that it's SOOOO GOOD. I'M WAITING VOMMY MOMMY YOU GOT A NEW PEP IN YOUR STEP.

If he turns out too weak… I’m still waiting for them to add full map range with an arch to his gun so Slinger can shoot for the stars and have his spear land on a survivor doing a gen lol

They're doing such an amazing job right now. I think that these changes will shake things up to a massive degree, and I for one am excited about it. I think there is a lot of risk involved with what they're doing, particularly because of the way the game is coded, but I'm very proud they are taking that plunge. That said, I think, that if they take their time and really ensure it all ties together cleanly, I don't mind waiting however long this will take. Does anyone know a more direct avenue to contact any of the developers and the design team? I'd really like to thank them personally, as well as start a conversation about the design process and writings involved with the game.

I really hope this update is not a one time thing, it really shows they have the potential of bringing actually good midchapters that don't feel like just time fillers.

You guys must be very low MMR survivor mains and I've never cringed so hard in my entire life reading this nonsense. People like you praising these balance decisions will be the reason this game dies. You think nerfing Deathslinger like that is a GREAT decision? The guy wasn't even that good in the first place and that's how he gets treated? A joke. Absolute joke. The only people to defend these changers are low MMR survivor mains who apparently can't achieve skill in anything they do so they have to be hand fed everything in their life. It took a year for the developers to add a few seconds on opening a hatch, a YEAR. The only good thing I see is the fact that multiple survivors can't escape now through hatch which was just stupid a broken in the first place. Plague buffs? Barely anything, you still won't see her because she's awful. At least at higher MMR you won't see her, seeing as she will be destroyed by anyone who is decent and knows how she works, and what to do against her. Lets not even talk about survivor perk buffs and boon totems, as if killers are the one that need another objective and not survivors. I can't wait for VHS to release, that's all I can say. The VHS developers must be rolling on the floor laughing, watching the DBD developers destroy their own game. Survivor mains keep praising this type of balance changes, when there is no killers left to play this imbalanced mess, you can enjoy sitting in a lobby having all that fun.

it's okay threads like these will continue to motivate the devs into nerfing every single killer because survivors got angry because they couldn't 1v1 the killer. Spirit only needed a notification for phasing. deathslinger didn't need touching. but no they have to go with the double hammer and double nerf the killers. but "great job devs" say the survivor players and apologists.

Bro the Slinger changes are a bit too much but why are you crying?? Submit feedback and tell them it’s too much. That’s the point, it’s a test. This is a GOOD update, massive addon changes, buffs to weak Killers, Hatch finally being somewhat fixed, and tons of perk adjustments. Not all of it is great but let them know then, and stop being a baby!

I'm staying cynical. We don't even have all the addons out yet. And boon totems will give yet another objective to killer. Killer is getting more and more chores to do without the time to do them realistically. First it was breakable walls, and now boon totems. Time for me to break the walls and the totem (only for it to be relit INFINITE times) before I can actually play the game.. oops the game is over because survivors can still do gens in two seconds.

The frequency and willingness to make many changes at once, mostly for the better. The only Killer changes I disagree with is Slinger, he got nerfed too hard but we should let them know. I love tons of addon changes, I love weaker perks being buffed so we can have more build diversity, I love the changes to Hatch and Keys. If you don’t like something let them know, but I would MUCH rather have this than the Cenobite PTB where only him and Nemesis get changed.

We haven't even tested it yet. Boon Totems are still a bad idea but if the perks aren't too strong then whatever, but we need to at least see how Slinger is now. Spirit sucks and isn't fun to play against at all and can be F tier for all I care lol, cheap easy win Killer.

That's true, but if you've played for long enough you can imagine how a lot of these will impact the game. Most of my games are over in less than 10 minutes because gens are too fast. Survivors simply need no buffs.
For spirit, that's true at lower MMR, but at higher MMR it's extremely easy to make the wrong call and go the wrong way. Either way, the nerf for her AND deathslinger are both too extreme.

I'm concerned that it took them this long to look over everything. I feel like that's something they should be doing regularly.
Some of the changes are good, some of them are OK, and some are bad. I imagine the bad ones are gonna be revised either in PTB or some time down the road.
It's not enough for me to sing their praises. It's basically just the work they should be doing for the health of the game. The fact that we're so happy about it really kind of speaks for itself.

I agree that they're going in the right direction, and that map redesign is mostly done. I'm not happy with many maps, but it's nice that killers are at least getting moderate consideration.
But, I agree with you that the praises are weird, because I will guarantee you that these boon totems are going to result in weeks of dealing with bugs over the coming year. Totems will get stuck, fail to function, and most of that will probably benefit survivors. I'm not even being cynical here, this is just reality, assuming past behavior predicts future behavior.

Yeah, I mean it isn't mostly bad. It's pretty balanced overall. It's just not really that remarkable. I don't feel the need to be thankful for the game being functional, you know what I mean?
The boon totems just don't sound very good at all. I'm sure in practice they'll be a novel thing, but I don't see them becoming a staple. It's definitely odd considering that they just added a new survivor perk centered around breaking totems and killers already feel overwhelmed with objectives.

Seriously dude. We dont know HOW MUCH Deathslinger is changed, and his 1v1 needed a change. It was super boring to face. Same coinflip issues that Spirit has. The 32 meter TR is even indicative of him maybe being turned into a 115% killer, which, honestly, would be fine. As with the changes he's going to be closer to Pyramid Head and Nemesis' power than Huntress anyway.
They are putting in the changes now, and worst case scenario, they buff him within 3 months(which really isnt that long, I havent even seen a Deathslinger the past 3 months).
As for multiple survivors escaping through the hatch, not really a problem as Mori's were a thing, and since Ruin+Undying, any key escape(that wasnt 3 people on 1 gen) has been earned.
You're literally ignoring all the buffs done to terrible perks that needed buffs for literal years. The only questionable buff being BTL, the rest is fine. And Boon totems ARE a survivor objective. Blessing a totem will take as long as cleansing one, if not longer. Removing it will literally take 2 seconds. That's a net gain for killers while also destroying a survivor perk, that might not even be as powerful as you think. Because I am 99% certain that Adrenaline and Hope would become Boon totems, and killers have found ways to deal with those perks for ages, now they simply have the option to permanently remove those perks from the trial.
So be a Sour Sandy and only focus on 1 or 2 aspects of the whole thing. It's by far the best changes made in the game since the EGC. And anything that turns out too negative can easily be reverted/balanced out within 3 months.
