Remember this is a PTB for a reason
Everyone screaming a yelling seem to forget that this isn't live, I know people have to speak to be heard but don't forget that this goes through PTB before going live for a reason so alllllll the worries about Boon Totems will likely be seen too before release.
Calm down people.
Edit: Remember how Lucky Break was?

People are just voicing there honest feedback. It's fine. I wish people would be more respectful about it but i wish people would be more respectful in general. Just gotta deal with it...

Thank you for saying this, people tend to forget that this is a ptb and act like the ptb build is what gets pushed to live
3 -
You must be new here.. Remember, they very rarely change anything from ptb to live. The devs and mods have even stated that by the time the ptb goes live the update is already finalized, the changes they make are minimal.
37 -
That's not true from my experience. RE had a lot of balance changes. Trickster had a lot of balance changes. We got jonathan voice in the final release of 5.2.0 but not the PTB.
13 -
And people forget ghostface exists
11 -
They might even buff boon totems by the end of it, I wouldn't be surprised. We shall see!
3 -
PTBs typically go live with little changes if any.
18 -
I wouldn't be surprised if BHVR does the Ash thing again 🗿
4 -
The difference is we actually have a ptb for this Ash Williams didn’t have a ptb so we got m.o.m in its op form with no test
4 -
I know, but the devs should have known better.
OG MoM didn't need a PTB to realize how broken it was

Hopefully the forums stay this loud, otherwise the 2-person balance team won't take it seriously
5 -
You haven't been here long, have ya? What you see in PTB is usually what you get in the live version, minus a few occasional tweaks. Heck, live will sometimes be worse than PTB.
8 -
With survivors just being a skin, and this one being an original survivor at that, the only reason to spend shards/money on her outside being a completionist is for her perks. I could definitely see them waiting on nerfs until some time after patch goes live, probably same amount of time as undying. Nerf before or have threat of nerf shortly after release and risk players not even bothering to buy her.

I seem to remember when Mettle of Man was on the PTB, and killer players screamed at the top of their lungs how much unbalance this would bring to the game. We were told what you are telling us now. Calm down, just give your feedback and this likely wouldn't be the final version of the perk that was brought to the game.
That perk was brought to the game with no changes whatsoever to what it was on the PTB.
So forgive us if we feel like screaming at the top of our lung about this.
3 -
BHVR has a history of like the last 7-8 patches of completely ignoring all feedback from PTB (and often bugs too) and just pushing it live with no changes.
6 -
When something is really strong in PTB it normally gets nerfed.
Remember that one PTB when they tested 75% the normal healing rate with Self Care? And you could heal yourself faster than others could by bringing Botany with it?
0 -
Lucky Break got nerfed before it was released because killers cried hard about it. And undying got let our before it was nerfed months later. I feel they should just release things as is besides fixing bugs and let all platforms try things out then tweak things as needed.

Killers are always crying about everything survivors have that's decent. So many are like toddlers.

Game design is an iterative process, and the first iteration of an idea is never prefect. I think it's totally valid to share feedback about the update and point out what you like and don't like, but I agree with the OP in that I don't understand getting mad about it. The expectation when the PTB rolls out should always be that some stuff will be good and some stuff won't be -- the point is to test it out in real matches to see what's working and what's not.

I honestly hope most if not all of the changes hit live.
The perks in the ptb feel like they will actually shake things up and i would hate to see them be nerfed in the live version and never to be seen again 2 weeks after release.
I just want this stale meta to finaly break

PTB is usually a Demo version, almost no changes are made until 5 patches later. And PTB is exactly for that btw, to explain everything that's wrong before they implement it to live, i don't get why you are bothered that people voice their concerns before they are implemented, seems that you complain just for the sake of being a contrarian.
2 -
Yeah, except the ptb is just advertisement. They hardly ever change anything from PTB to live
7 -
I know you're joking but I legitimately think someone at BHVR got promoted to Lead Designer.
0 -
Also, EVERYONE screamed about Legion.
4 -
I mean id agree if this was any other companies ptb, bhvr rarely makes large scale changes from ptb to launch. Hell even bugs usually get carried over, best we can expect are some number changes maybe.
2 -
Somebody had the idea of Boon totems and none of the devs thought, "Hey wouldn't they be horribly broken if survivors are using comms and all equip them?". As soon Boons were mentioned to the community, many killer mains were very concerned. Once we saw what they were like, they were exactly as overpowered as we feared.
That's why they should never have even got to PTB.
8 -
Survivors cry too when killers have something decent
6 -
In what universe was Mettle of Man just 'decent'?
6 -
How long have you been playing this game, OP?
4 -
The problem is BHVR has a history of ignoring any and all feedback that comes from the PTB. It has never been so much a 'Player Test Build' as it has been a 'Patch Preview Build'.
7 -
why should we especially when we all know that bhvr is still gonna make this a incredibly strong survivor perk Ntm able to still be relit after being stomped out. Goes to show you who they cater for the most. 👌🏼

If no one cries about the OP stuff in PTB, Lucky Break would be 180s and go live.

still don't seem like testing was done to consider balance. does it turn blue and work? sounds good to me.
give it a month and they'll nerf it after people bought it cause it was game breaking
games a toxic seesaw

Late 2019

hm, seems like you havent experienced previous ptbs....you`ll learn, just give it time.
1 -
That’s exactly how I feel. But you know survivors probably won’t wanna give up their meta perks.

Ptb is a tool to promote its not a tool for balance or bug
4 -
Not true, some stuff does get changed before going live, some examples are Lucky Break, Trickster, Surveillance, Hangman's Trick, Blight, Hillbilly etc and Im 99% sure Circle of Healing will be changed because right now is completely broken, it may go live being strong or weak but its not going to be as strong as it is right now.
1 -
Did you forget about the HUD update, or the Billy nerf?
3 -
Most things in ptb don't get changed when transitioning to live.
2 -
There was no PTB for mettle of men.
The Devs accidently leaked the perks with an update earlier (I think only on console and I don't know if just the discriptions were leaked or if you could equip the perks) and than just released the Chapter without a PTB.
Yeah, people did rightfully voice concerns about the perk after the leaks, but as I said there was no PTB so your statement is not correct.

Billy actually contradicts your point, bc they toned down the heating after the ptb feedback.
OneCagedHeart is perfectly right here. In all the recent ptb, things that needed adjustments were adjusted between ptb and live. Sure some things could have been tweaked even more, but saying / implying that nothing gets changed between ptb and live and feedback is ignored totally is objectively wrong, at least for the more recent ptbs.
2 -
Didn't they know that the twins were broken and we told them in PTB and they released them in that state anyway? I'm pretty sure they did.
0 -
I hope so but most of the time the devs go through with the changes without hearing feed back. They will then say something like "console players need a chance to test the changes and maybe we will make changes". We will see they have gotten alot better but I still see most changes going live and changing it next chapter or next year.
0 -
This! BHVR usually doesn't change anything from PTB and I'm assuming it's because they wanna see how the numbers differ on live servers.

”NOED op”
”Undying op”
”Tinkerer op”
”Freddy addons op”
”Wraith op” LOL what? 😂
Goes both ways, buddy.
1 -
They should let console players test too. Especially because they outnumber PC players.
0 -
voice barely even matters, ptb should be about balance and from RE zombie AI was nerfed and nemesis is still kinda garbage with the 3 hit thing, trickster was super bad on release, minimal changes
community always says it all and it always takes them 1 year to move a number from 10 to 20
0 -
well they aren't directed by the community, they are directed by data supported by feedback. And overall dev team opinion.
