Why can't Killers choose their Hex spawn?
If Survivors can pick which totem to use their Boon on, Killers should be able to do the same with Hexes, no? 90% of the time when my Hex gets cleansed early it's due to a terrible spawn, like right next to a gen or in the open. It seems pretty unfair to allow such flexibility for one side and not the other. Especially when Boons can be used infinitely, but Hexes are 1 & done.

Do you really as a killer at the start of the game where you are weakest spend 14 seconds activating your perks?
That's around 70% of a generator if survivors split up. Or do you want to have the benifit of choosing your placement without the cost of time that everybody seems to be ignoring

Killers setting up their own totems would help survivors.
Most times I find a hex totem at start of match it's not because I started ontop it, it's because I see the killer go and check on it first thing. If killers were to set up their own hex totems all survivors would have to do is pay attention to where the killer goes at start of match. Killer hanging out away from gens? Probably placing their hex totem over there.
Then there's the predictable hex totem placement by killers - their go to will be the hidden totem spots. If survivors happen to miss the killer setting up the totem they'll have a pretty easy guess where to check.
Aside from survivors having easier time finding/cleansing totems thanks to just paying attention to the killer this would also waste killers time. All you need is 1 survivor to pay attention to what killer is doing, rest can work on gens without worry of being interrupted.

Who says it has to take 14 seconds? Just let the Killer set it with the press of a button.

Very good point. As setting your own totem would be common knowledge, survivors would start looking for where the killer is heading at the start of the match. A more sure fire way to find the totem then if it spawned in a very good spot.

You are basing this cause survivors can choose where there totems are.
So if you want that benifit then you should take the cost of time associated with it too.
You can't have your cake and eat it too.

But Survivors can reset their totems infinitely. Hexes can only be placed once. I think it's fair to let them be placed instantly because they can be removed permanently. Also, there is the cost of time. The Killer has to go out of their way to get to a totem.
