Gen perks, yay or nay?
Welp, thanks to SBMM survivors are SLAMMING these gens, so should I just do an all chase build or something? Getting a bit bored of holding gens ngl, no matter how well I hold a Prove Thyself always pulls them through it

Do whatever you want, your winrate will be the same

It's all about fun IMO run whatever you want to get that fun

Screw gen perks, embrace JIGSAW'S BAPTISM

If u don't care about 4k every game run whatever u want. On average u should be able to pull off 6 hooks play. But I'm not sure if it counts as win.

Depends on what killer you're using. Killers who can win chases quickly with their power are going to get more out of slowdown perks than killers who don't have great chase or mobility. PGTW, Ruin, etc., do nothing if you aren't downing and hooking survivors at a good pace.
All the slowdown in the world won't help Trapper. He needs chase perks. Pig and Legion have built in game slowdown but not so great chase. They need chase perks. Nurse, Spirit, and Blight are monsters in chase and they mobility, so they can bring 4 slowdowns and lose nothing in the process. You get the idea.

This is so true and sad

6 hooks lol. That’s borderline Entity Displeased.

I hate gen slowdown, I never run it as killer because I think it's boring. That's me, though. You should run a build you find fun.

I don't like to use gen perks except Corrupt and very occasionally Surge. I still find most of my games go in my favor, and perhaps that's because my choice of perks inherently keeps my mmr low enough that I'm not going against people that play like gen perks are in play. If that's the case SBMM seems to be doing it's thing fine for me.
I just find chase perks to be way more engaging and fun, I don't like paying attention to generators.

Why is it sad?

Why would you want to keep playing in a game in wich no matter how good or bad you are playing your winrate will remain the same and won't get any reward for improving?
0 -
Your reward for improving is you get to play against better players which in turn are harder challenges, if you get better you get to play with even tougher people. Games are fun as long as they keep being a bit challenging, curbstomping all your matches is fun for a while but it becomes boring fast after a while, same as getting demolished over and over.
Its the only kind of reward this game (or any game at all) can offer since most players will never ever be able to get to the big reward, becoming a profesional who gets paid for playing a game/sport.

But going against better players means you go against the same perks over and over, perks that waste loads of your time and make matches boring and infuriating, DBD doesn't reward you for getting better anymore, not with SBMM in here, the game's as boring as it'll ever get

Then youll downrank your MMR until you get people who are more close to what you should face, its a multiplayer game where 2 teams opose eachother, if the reward for getting better is having easier matches against the people you already beat it would be very unfair to the other team, why should they keep playing against someone who already beaten them badly? where is their reward of having easier matches?.
Onto the topic, if you have problems with gens yes, run 1 perk of gen stalling but since we didnt see any of your games, we dont know what Killer you play, your build or what mistakes you are making the advice is going to be really really vague, this game has a ton of variables and not everything works for every Killer but if you believe gens are your problem then, depending on the Killer, run PGTW OR Ruin (dont run both) and one detection perk (most people uses BBQ but it can be awful for certain Killers).

Do you feel reward for improving should be easy stomp? That's just a failure of matchmaking. But I guess your ideal situation is stomping babies. To each his own, can't argue about that.

Than don't try so hard, and you will go against players that have different perks. Why tryhards complain about other tryhards?

??? I just want to see a number that tells my MMR why would that be "stomping noobs"? Oh and i don't know if you play or used to play shooters like Call of Duty or Battlefield, the reward for getting good was exactly that, getting better streaks and stomping everyone. And it was extremly fun to keep getting better at the game and seeing your progress when one day you were one of the babies getting stomped on.

I want to see that number too. I thought you were complaining about getting same win rate. I agree that seeing the number is a reward that wouldn't hurt anyone.

I don't try hard, I just play normally and survivors ruin that experience

"normal" doesn't mean anything. For some people it's normal to tryhard all the time. Don't tunnel, don't camp, remove gen slowdown, go for 12 hooks... There are tons of ways to get matched with people who don't tryhard.
