What's your crutch Killer perk?
I go back and forth between STBFL because it's so good in chases, and Endearing because I don't like to be afraid of pallets.

I’m ashamed at how addicted to Brutal Strength I am. I know it’s not helping me too much in chase and other perks would be better but it feels so good.

bamboozel
I'm bad at mindgaming loops so I use it so I don't have to bother

BBQ

Lethal Pursuer gives me an amazing early game, and then Enduring and Spirit Fury carry me during chases. Top it off with BBQ and I'm running the same build on every killer.
Also I unironically love running Bloodhound, Stridor, and Sloppy Butcher together. Please send help.

Thanataphobia
No cooldown, no weird restrictions, works on special attacks, and it just works.
I know it isn't powerful, but it feels reliable. I run it on every killer.
1 -
Don't feel bad. We like what we like. But you might want to consider fire up. Not only does it increase the speed of practically everything you do, but it can break pallets faster than brutal strength.

BBQ.
It gives me all the emotional strength I need.
6 -
Honestly Bloodhound is such an underrated perk. It's the one counter to Iron Will that never fails. Having a bright red trail leading you right back to a stealthy survivor is priceless!

Bamboozle and Brutal Strength.

Shadowborn.
No, really. That increased FOV is the difference between walking past a survivor or not, not to mention how valuable having more vision is for any Killer period. Its my goto on Trapper and Nemesis, and for some reason it just works wonders.
7 -
Lightborn. I only have three perks in my mind. Lightborn stays on.
3 -
Ok, so right off the bat, BBQ. I just feel like I am shorting myself BP so I always try to run it on every killer. After that, I'm gonna be honest I've slowly been falling in love with Lightborn. Any time I see flashlights I always bring it just to give the survivors a big ol' middle finger. My favorite build to run is BBQ, Pop, Lightborn and either Enduring or Spirit Fury on Bubba to make what I call "Unstoppable Bubba" lol.
3 -
lightborn is also so good against blast mine. Once you get stunned you’ll be able to find the survivor that did that to you! 😂
2 -
Oh yeah I love that cus I usually see them crouched nearby round a corner and then I just go right after them lol it's great 😆
2 -
I remember the first time that I used lightborn after it's buff. A survivor had activated trip mine on a generator and snuck way behind an LT wall. When I kicked it, obviously I was stunned, but because the aura detection lasts longer than the stun, I was able to see exactly where they were, and I made a beeline straight for them. After the game was over they could have sworn I was hacking! LOL

Lethal Pursuer
2 -
Oh my god that’s too funny!! I’m sure survivors i’ve caught with lightborn have probably felt the same.
4 -
Honestly same XD. I've wondered how many thought I was hacking cus their flashlights and flashbangs weren't working on me during the game.
Also funny story I legit had someone be so salty that they told me I was a bad killer for using Lightborn XD. It was the most hilarious thing I've seen.
1 -
Lethal Pursuer. My kill rate has probably risen a lot since I started running it, it really gives a lot of killers the early game pressure they desperately need.
2 -
Honest question. I know a lot of killers say the early game is the most important aspect of the match, so would you say that lethal pursuer is more important, or corrupt?
0 -
Makes you wonder if it should be a built in mechanic (but reduced, like 3 seconds).

Spies/Unrelenting
Spies is criminally underrated in my opinion. Crows scare pretty easily in DbD, even against red ranked Survivors, and few players run Calm Spirit so it can really help out.
As for Unrelenting, I fully admit to the crime of being human and misjudging distance or straight whiffing a hit, and that quick recov really comes in handy

There's a crutch killer perk? Wow it feels like there are just perks that should of been base kit.

I which killers had such thing as "crutches", we don't have second chances, 1 missed hit can literally cost you the entire game sometimes...

It really depends on what you are going for. I have seen some people say that lethal pursuer gets outclassed by corrupt but I feel that they are missing the point of both perks. Corrupt buys you time, which comes super handy for setup killers and generally killers with poor mobility, whereas lethal pursuer helps you not only to start chases quicker, but also to plan your games better.
I like to play aggresive and end chases as fast as possible so I can rely on my pressure instead of my slowdown perks (reason why I main slinger), so I prefer lethal pursuer because comes especially handy for that. The faster you can start a chase with the survivor, the faster you can down them and start snowballing.
I run corrupt exclusively on low mobility killers that I am not really good with, because it really helps make the early game more bearable. It will (or at least theoretically should) buy me enough time to find a survivor and down them, or in the case I am playing a setup killer like Hag, Trapper or Demo, time to setup without having to worry about gens flying.
In resume: Lethal pursuer if you want an aggresive early game that allows you to start snowballing with killers you are really good with from the get go, Corrupt if you want a defensive early game that allows you to plan things much more calmly without having to worry about losing a ton of gens early on.

Really guys? Really? Seriously. How have none of you answered Hex: Ruin...? That is the only killer perk I won't play without. It's basically like the killers equivalent to Borrowed Time.
0 -
Beast of prey level 1. Being undetectable after Bloodlust 1 at loops confuses survivors and let's you mind game easier to end chases faster. No one expects it
0 -
Ruin is good, but then you get the matches where the game says "You are not allowed to use it this match" and it's destroyed 10 seconds after the game starts.
2 -
BBQ always and forever.
It's the most beautiful perk in the entire game, nothing else comes close.
It's good on every single killer, it helps you keep momentum and know where to go/what to be doing after every hook, and honestly I feel like I'm flushing Blood Points down the drain if I'm not using it.
It will always sit in the first slot of every killer I play, unless I'm going for some crazy meme build or playing Trapper, who needs all the help he can get/who I don't care about getting BP with, I just want to make people step in my traps.

I’m addicted to shadowborn. I’ve caught so many survivors hiding in the distance with it and they cant 360 you either. The FOV is *chefs kiss*
0 -
Knockout
Dislike most gen perks and as long as they aren't swf I get a decent amount of slowdown.
0 -
Whispers, easily. Reasons:
The time savings is immense when you're searching for a chase.
You can triangulate a locker jockey's position.
It's invaluable for gate guarding after you shut the hatch on the final survivor.
Even on its worst maps it brings constant and consistent value.
Is it necessary to run after a certain degree of experience? No. But I deeply enjoy not having to second-guess my search decisions, it's almost like having a second person, a KWF if you will, talking to you when you learn to rapidly interpret it.

Corrupt Intervention and STBFL.
0 -
Bamboozle.

The reason everyone hasn't mentioned Ruin is because nothing is worse than having a survivor spawn right next to your Hex. Spawn points in the game are ridiculous. It's why I have a hard time running Hexes.
Totems spawn too close to generators as it is, and the fact that survivors can spawn next to totems makes Hexes a pain to use.
0 -
That is why I like Undying or Pop as well but yea.
0 -
Ruin would be a crutch perk for me if it wouldn’t get cleansed in the first 30 seconds of the match.
0 -
I also would say Devour hope. I don’t run it much but the last few times it’s given me great luck.
0 -
It doesn't most of the time. I don't even know what you are arguing? Not running Ruin is objectively sub par and if Ruin isn't a crutch perk then nothing is. Except maybe NOED or DH.
0 -
I’m not arguing but okay.
1 -
BBQ i guess. It's for the BPs, really. I don't think I've intentionally played a match without BBQ unless I had to.
0 -
Honestly, I used to think the same. However, I've realised more recently that some Killers can get a LOT of value out of knowing exactly where everyone is at the start. To the point where I think Lethal being a perk is justified. Although, I would like it to get a buff so that it can be triggered at least one extra time (Maybe it can retrigger when you sacrifice your first Survivor?)
Anyhow, here's a few examples of how good Lethal can be good on Pinhead in particular.
My own personal crutch perk is Corrupt btw.
0 -
Corrupt Intervention
But I also can't shake BBQ and Whispers
0 -
Lethal pursuer, being able to start an early chase is just too good of a crutch lololol
0 -
There aren't any.

That Bloodhound, Strider, and Sloppy combo is low key getting buffed with boon totems. At least for the first week when everyone spams them. Lol.
