I am looking forward to it to see if boon totems become a new meta and to use the new built to last as a survivor.

As a killer I am looking forward to it for trapper (I know I knowπŸ˜‚)

How about the rest of you?

Are you happy because of the appearance of boon totems ,your favorite killer/killer addons or perks got buffed?

Or are you dreading the update because of boon totems or your killer/killer addons got nerfed?

Dreading, just I've dread Patch 3.1.0 and almost everything released after it.

  • I am happy all around, new updates, new content.

The Shape got add-on buffs and the stalk meter bug fixed. The Pig got an add-on pass, which i am excited for but slightly worried it'll be a nerf.

Every other add-on got their description updated so that's great for me.

Boon totems i am slightly worried about, but i am excited because it's a new mechanic.

Mikaela Reid is also a cool survivor, i hope she gets cool cosmetics though.

Pig nerf, Deathslinger nerf, Trapper buff and spirit nerf are not enough to fix them, Boon totems are op. Yeah im worried about this patch

At least Plague is strong now!

    I am absolutely dreading it

Now I haven't played PTB as a console player so I'm hoping it's unfounded but Boon Totems just seem like an awful idea all around. For solo queue, this is just another thing that gives the SWFs a big advantage (since they can plan out and talk to one another what their plan is) while half a team of solos might be trying to break the totems while the other half is trying to keep them alive for boons. Just another thing that BHVR threw in where communication can make or break the mechanic while forgetting that their game doesn't have that as a feature...

For killers, especially high rank like myself, it can be hard enough to find and take out survivors quickly enough without adding another objective for me to do (and an objective that I can't even permanently kill off as me snuffing out boons just means the survivor has to take 14 seconds to relight it).

The Plague changes are nice as I really like to play as her so I've got that goin for me I guess...

If my wish for time to rewind to back when I was 11 years old and keeping all of the knowledge I have until now intact ever comes true, I’ll make sure to invest in Apple and BitCoin and purchase Behavior and hire you on as the games director.

I am sad we lost 2 killers and boon perks are broken afff.

Like they make hexes strong perks, so why the hell they dont do the same to boon? LoL

I feel the same. Slinger was one of the few killers I absolutely enjoyed playing and now the fun aspect is getting absolutely gutted. Not to mention I have a really bad feeling the devs will nerf him more since the ADS movement buff made his M2 spam for zoning even better (especially with some other addons).

Both I would say. Plague and Trapper are fun killers and both gets a buff, although Trapper will still probably be the worst killer in the game but Plague could be A-tier now. The rest idk bone totems don't like that idea. Windows will be super strong I will use that all the time. No cooldown always knowing where pallets are, what pallets are gone etc is crazy.

I am dreading it. I feel with each patch they make survivors stronger and stronger. I understand the need to make it easier for them. It's standard business. Cater to the majority.

Survivors outnumber killers. You have swf. They need easier games. The more survivors win they will be more inclined to get their friends to buy the game. That's more for BHVR with chapters and cosmetics.

Think about this. SWF does indeed have an advantage. Have they given killers anything to compensate them for the level of communication they get. No they have not. I don't feel anyone should be punished for wanting to play with friends.

I feel that the killer should be compensated in some way. However that is I do not know. With boon totems I feel the the level of coordination the survivors will be able to use will make them even stronger. The killer is supposed to be the Power role. It just does not feel that way to me now.

Dreading, I think I'm just burned out. I used to be excited for when Switch got cross progression to play killer on PC but I kinda don't care anymore.

Wake up call for you. Many survivors will shame you for anything. Don't get your hopes up. Shaming is rarely genuine.

Also, to answer the OP. Dreading assuming the devs don't tweak their work before launch (they have before and may do so again). The bad outweigh the good. If left unchanged, the end result will be 1 less killer in the S-tier, Trapper getting a good buff, but isn't enough to change where he stands, Plague gets a nice buff, but Deathslinger gets unfairly nerfed into a ground in the laziest way possible, and the boon perks are problematic, and the add-on change list for killers other than Pig are lackluster.

What I really dread is the precedent this midchapter sets. BHVR is done with changing killers and trading what they're good at. All DS and Spirit needed was a nerf to how unfair their 1v1 is while boosting the 1v4. However, any time something on the killer side is deemed "unfun" a net nerf is incoming balance or the killer's fun be damned. Speaking of balance, they didn't say Spirit was OP for her nerf, but they said Wraith was. Let that sink in for a moment.

I was expecting a Pig buff, all she got is a nerf on her best addons and buff on other less powerful ones, so they actually nerfed Pig at her highest potential. So no, i don't want this patch to come, not to mention boon totems and all the new bugs that will be introduced.

Really looking forward to it overall, although if the devs cannot see the current issue with the Boons and do not change them into a fairer perk that could be quite troublesome.

I don't feel they need to add the dust kick up from footsteps with Spirit, as the directional phasing is more than adequate.

    TacitusKilgore Member Posts: 1,380

Not dreading, just anxious. I have a good feeling they'll dish out some much needed small nerfs to some of the more OP stuff in the PTB (blood favor and the boons for example) to make the live build more stable, but theres always a chance they won't and we'll have a terrible live build.

  • MarcoPoloYolo
    MarcoPoloYolo Member Posts: 508

I don't think Blood Favor is OP outside of what's probably glitches cough*Trickster*cough. One of the core issues of Blood Favor is that it's optimal to just hold W after being hit to a far-away pallet............... which won't be affected by Blood Favor.

Yeah, not going to lie, every update scares me a little. One day they will nerf a killer I actually enjoy in a way that effects my enjoyment. This update was more or less a net positive for me with Plague and Ghostface buffs to compensate for the Slinger nerf.

  • TacitusKilgore
    TacitusKilgore Member Posts: 1,380

Its not strictly "OP" i don't think. But it does get a bit ridiculous on certain killers because of its new range, huntress/slinger/trickster(if we talk about trickster in the intended sense where only a knife injure activates the perk) can stomp with it since one of their main weaknesses is getting a barrier between you and them. Killers like demo might also be overly strong with it as well since they prioritize their M2's over their M1's. The range makes the perk super scary, but in the end i guess it can be justified with the fact its a hex. I Fully support it having no cooldown though, its ridiculous for a hex perk to have a cooldown.

As a consoler I dread every patch pretty much. The game's performance has never fully recoverd for me since the RE release.

The changes to my Piggy's add-ons are a lil interesting. So many of them before encouraged going after a trapped surv, and at least now that aspect is reduced.

I'm excited for the amount of content this patch will have

The past couple have had barely anything and it's boring

Firstly, the Stand Still Mindgame for Spirit is dead, gone, terminated, and I'm setting up the party next week. Secondly, For The People, one of my favorite and most used perks, is getting the 30 second reduction I've always wanted. Lastly, and admittedly least to me, Vigil's new buff is nice and it's now a mainstay for it's synergy with FTP and Dead Hard (my other 2 mainstays).

Everything else I'm either indifferent towards or don't care for as much as the 3 things I listed above, but overall I'm really happy with the upcoming changes.

I beat the game a long time ago and DBD loses its flavor a month after a new update is released, so I always look forward to something new. I don't care if it's good or bad-- I look forward to anything different.

    looking forward to it

many perk updates which should be standard for midchapters, Built to Last i expect to be toned down a bit. Boon totems seem interesting but i also expect some nerf to their current state.

Killer changes i mostly see as healthy, though i am not sure on DS aiming.. didnt try it out on PTB..

Dreading the slinger changes. This might be the patch that effectively kill him play rate wise. The parallel's to legion (needed if a little half assed) and billy (who had no business being changed bar maybe his instasaw and maybe crack billy changes) are very obvious. The worst part is these changes feel like a point of no return. They go through slinger will permanently be clunky, weaker and frustrating to play. Considering the past few changes and reworks bar bubba's there is a pretty bad track record of ever hoping to seeing slinger be brought to a point of being a fun killer to play. It doesn't help that slinger wasn't performing well before the changes sense his 1 v 4 is awful.

In spirit's case she has more counterplay but the no messing with her phasing or mechanics on her end. No overheat or stun added to her kit it just more reasonable counter play with weakened addon's nothing that spooks me though I do think the dust kick up might be a bit too much.

Trapper I hope will get there but I still think he's missing way's to interact with gens or long range traps. A long range rearm trap ability on a cooldown could give him the flare he needs to stand out a bit more. Lots of fun build options opened up tho.

Boon totem's as of currently look busted but simple fixes to the percentages of healing and making sure they don't overlap would be great. If the boon totem's are in a reasonable state they still might not see long term use just because the current selection of killer and survivor perks are so busted that anything that could usurp them would probably break the game.

Ruin's regression is a little to high for my liking, unbreakable lacking a condition like deliverance effect is strange to me, dead hard invulnerability frames and distance gained is too forgiving. But dbd in its next patch state should overall be good for the game. Deathslinger might end up being needlessly sacrificed for these change's which is very frustrating. Here's hoping I eat my word's and they either walk back the slinger changes or give him some proper advantages so he can distinguish himself more from the rest of the rooster of killers instead of just being an inferior huntress.

All changes are good besides slinger. Removing quickscoping killed any appeal I had for him. I have almost no hope that devs will rethink this change, so RIP Slinger.

I'm pretty excited about the changes. Granted I'm sure it'll come with its fair share of new bugs but what's a dbd patch without bugs am I right?

The changes are all pretty good for the most part, it's just boons that I'm worried about but BHVR literally cannot release them in their current state without directly contradicting stuff they said about hexes with the Undying nerf, so I'm hopeful that they'll balance boon totems on release.

  • DemonDaddy
    DemonDaddy Member Posts: 4,167

Doubt it will be enough, hopefully we do get some changes but since it's "balanced" for the casual solo I'm prepared to ride it out by just playing survivor.

    Neither.

Seeing Wraith get changes #2 actually had me a bit excited when reading #1, but the changes are not worth mentioning.
