Hey Heather, do you expect Pyramid head to chase anyone else?
If you play Cheryl Mason, don't you expect Pyramid Head to want to find follow and kill you before any one else? (unless you have not played Silent Hill. But then again, why would you be Cheryl Mason if you havent?)

Wouldn't actually playing the games make you expect that interaction less, since Pyramid Head's main purpose is to ensure James accepts the painful truth behind his Wife's death, while ensuring Maria doesn't succeed?

That is only one ending.

I think Maria is the ghost of James wife.

A figure resembling Pyramid Head appears in the "Creation" painting in Silent Hill 3. OK. that is fair to say. But to me, it is all one place and he is there somewhere.

Soul guard 😋

Good point

A ghost perhaps, but more importantly, spoiler alert, she is a manifestation of Silent Hill, she is the beautiful lie that James needs to refuse in order for him to accept what he has done. Naturally, there's many theories as to what she actually is, but they all toy with the fact that she is some sort of temptation or a physical manifestation of one's wish to avoid repercussions, while Pyramid Head is the inevitable punishment.

From Silent Hill 3...this looks like Pyramid head to me.
0 -
The monster that stalks her during Silent Hill 3 is Valtiel. Similar, but not the same. If I simplify things greatly, he is to Heather what Pyramid Head is to James.
5 -
OK. I must agree.
0 -
Valtiel is not Pyramid Head - Pyramid Head is a priest/executioner/call-man for the church which worships Valtiel, an angel on Earth; himself only there to herald the rise of Silent Hill's G-d.
0 -
Yes, identical.
3 -
Excellent. I must also agree with this.

I wouldn't. They're both in the Silent Hill universe, but Pyramid Head doesn't interact with Cheryl/Alessa like that. It'd be like Jason coming to DbD and then targeting Quentin because they share a universe (ala Freddy vs Jason).

From Silent Hill 3. I think the Pyramid head goes beyond James.

Pyramid Head's appearance comes from a painting in the town, so of course it'd be in a painting I- 😭😭
3 -
He just has his hat off.

Will say though, crazy just how much lore there is in Silent Hill. Such good games.
2 -
Original Pyramid Head is from Silent Hill 2.
Heather isn't in Silent Hill 2.

I am glad to see so many silent hill fans out there. All great points. I would award you all bloodpoints if I could.

Here is your prize instead.
Good bathroom art

When James Sunderland makes his appearance here I expected all Pyramid Heads to tunnel the ######### out of him, until he repents his sins, when Pyramid Head will let him escape.
Doubt this will happen, but it would be great if Guy Cihi did his voice when he comes over!
3 -
Try for the A ending in Silent Hill 2.

I know I will be participating in the fun!
2 -
I'm just going to follow him constantly from a distance and use every stealth perk available to scare the crap out of James until they leave. 0k totally worth it!
4 -
That's great and all but can you credit the artist

I mean PH has never chased Heather so I don't understand that, the only people who chase Heather is that creep who owns the church and the detective, I forgot their name and claudia, been too long since I played silent hill 3.
Ph only appears in 2, downpour (I think) and homecoming, which only 1 from those 3 games is from team silent.
Just remember that if you are telling people that cheryl gets chased by ph then you are the one lying to them, she in fact has never been chased by ph only James

Got a feeling it might be OP's fanart.

if it is then props to them. i dont check post history or anything, but i do know that far too many people dont credit when it isnt their work (and people dont watermark either, sadly) so it's hard to tell.

Lmfao this right here. We're gonna need this.

Also, Valtiel never takes an aggressive action against Heather, and actually has a stake in her physical well being. The closest he gets is dragging away her body if something else kills her, but that ties back into the previous point.

I'm definitely getting James as soon as he arrives so I'll be looking for those Pyramid Heads! I wish more people played him though--I rarely see him in my games anymore. I main him so I can actually hear his chase music in-game... 😭
1 -
No I don't really expect killers to go out of their way to ruin my game and tunnel me just bc of the survivor I play.
(Has flashback to the Lisa incident of 2020)
1 -
Bro if I see a James as Pyramid Head be sure I’ll try to tunnel his ass
1 -
I see him on occassion, but am surprised he's not used as often. He's a powerful killer with a towering, intimidating appearance - one of the best in the game! It's strange how he's not used as often.

I think BHVR did this franchise injustice for not having Eddie as a skin and he runs while holding a pizza box

Valtiel is an angel of the silent hill god it just watch her becuz she have the soul of the god.

Yes, but I didn't feel like it was necessary to go through several paragraphs of lore, hence why I called it a great simplification.

Heather / Cheryl is in Silent Hill 1 also. Silent Hill 1 has Harry Mason trying to catch his daughter Cheryl. So I feel like Pyramid is after her even if it is really just the bloody rabbit. Points above well spoken. But I still feel like the pyramid and Cheryl are connected at the soul level.
Thanks Clowning. you make great points. BTW, I dread you in a match.

If I remember correctly, Pyramid Head is James Sunderland's manifestation, meaning only he sees it, meaning Pyramid doesn't know who Heather is unless we consider the movies, in which I didn't watch any of them as converting games into movies is usually a bad thing

I like the first movie well enough. The second one is awful. They both suffer from not enough Sean Bean, but what're you gonna do.
If anyone didn't know, in the movies:
Pyramid Head is basically Alessa's protector. Oof.
0 -
Absolutely agree. Sean Bean was perfect. But short performance. He is probably was really expensive after game of thrones. (where he also gets taken out too soon.) Why did they add John snow? Heather has no friends. She is a perfect emo loner. (unfortunately just like me)

It's been a long time (I don't think I've seen the second movie since its original release), but I remember Kit Harington not being very good, either. Besides GoT, I think my favorite performance of his was 7 Days in Hell. A dumb movie, but funny. He's not necessarily the most ranged actor. He usually looks lost and confused, but it works in GoT for Jon Snow. lol
Unfortunately, in Silent Hill: Revelation, you end up with a character like Harington's (Vincent) for a few reasons. For one, they need someone to deliver exposition. (I think he was also the one who sets her on her path, right? It's a standard quest story trope to have a character who points the way for the hero.) For another, there are going to be scenes where it helps to have another character for the main character to talk to and play off of. The audience doesn't know Heather, so Vincent getting to know Heather is a way for the audience to get to know Heather as well. (It's an easy, lazy way to do that.) The writing for that movie was absolute crap, and they did a terrible job with pretty much everything, including (especially?) Vincent.
Edit: Sorry if that was a redundant question. I'm a recluse who enjoys reading and likes understanding how story-telling/narrative works. I can't help but take advantage of an opportunity to rip a bad story apart.

I've actually recently watched both of the movies, because I forgot just how awful the second one was. And yeah, you're right. He's that one student at her school that actually talks to her, pretends to be another outsider, then suddenly unloads on her that it was his task to bring her back, but now he feels bad about it so they do a redemption arc to ensure the audience remains emotionally invested.
Also I have to mention that Pyramid Head fight scene, it's genuinely the worst thing I've ever seen in any horror movie.
0 -
Yes, that end fight scene is [BAD WORD]ing awful. That's one of the things I remember most about the movie is how bad that was (visually and narratively).
iirc, my favorite thing in Revelation was that mannequin spider. Not the greatest special effects or anything, but still the best thing in that trash heap of a movie.
Edit: It also bothers me to no end that The Missionary looks like a rip-off Cenobite and not a Silent Hill monster. The concept artist and/or director saw Hellraiser 3 and Clive Barker's Tortured Souls figures and just combined them, not understanding the thematic differences between Silent Hill and Hellraiser... which goes a long way to explaining why Revelation is a disjointed, empty mess.
