Whats the point in showing the grades of your opponents?
Was it only the easiest solution bc it was the same with ranks? Or is there any merit?
The fact that grades have nothing to do with matchmaking would be clearer to understand if you couldnt see grades after the match. I know, most people understand it anyway, but there are still plenty of people, who dont. They complain about their matches, bc they see different colors.
Sure, they could inform themself and are kinda at fault, but removing grades could focus the attention to real matchmaking problems.
So are there any benefits of showing grades or are there only downsides?

It gives me a better idea about them as players, so I like it. If you do not think they mean anything, you could just ignore them...
I have no idea why you care if other people care. It is kind of strange.

They're misleading and there is 100 posts about "unfair" matchmaking when ash killer plays against iri survivors etc. There is no point of showing them. better replace them with character portrait

There really isn't any other point other than people using it so they can complain about the team mates they were matched with or how the killer doesn't deserve the grade they have. I have yet to see any positive reason for why it should be in the game.

The problem is grades have no context.
My friend's killer grade is like Ash IV or Ash III. People may think he just hasn't played this past month. If it gave context and showed he's played 3+ hours of killer a day all month, then it'd have meaning.
It seems dumb to show grades on the end screen with no context. People just make their own judgements based on it, and it's not healthy for the game.

I dont understand what you want to say. You have no idea why i ask others about their opinion about a topic?
Or did you misunderstand something?

Replacing with character portrait is a really good idea.

I'd rather they were removed.

Yeah, I'd definitely rather have the character portraits than the grades showing. The character portraits would actually be useful, unlike grades.

There really is no point in showing grades considering they mean nothing for the matchmaking. Clearly just a leftover feature from the ranks.

i think they're nice since it shows you how long it took them to get to similar mmr to you. Whenever i end a match as killer with a surv in bronze they are usually the best survivor in the match

You won't able to gauge how long it took 'em after another grade reset on the 13th. Their MMR won't change with it, after all.

Because stomping a group of Iri 1's as an Ash 4 can tell you that you are still decent after not playing the game for 4 months.

I like the idea to use character portraits!
would give another use for the killer portraits as they are not used in a match and I don’t have to look in the settings who played which char (I usually don’t display names in the matches..)

Really? But the grade doesnt show you how good they are. So it just shows that even with a lot more playtime they are worse than you. And that is no surprise. Old red rank was full of this people.
If you do good after a break, you will always know that you are still decent, bc your mmr doesnt go down if you dont play. Your opponents dont get weaker, even if they are only silver.

If you play a lot your mmr will likely creep up slowly so you can always assume anyone in iri rank is slightly better than your average player, or atleast they've gotten a few dozen warm up games this month.

There is really a high chance that you will get a better mmr bc you play a lot. It atleast feels like its easier to gain mmr, then to lose it. So an iridescent survivor is probably worse than a silver survivor with the same rating.
The problem is that you have no idea if you are in high or low mmr with grades. You get more info if you just look at the playstyle of your opponents.
I honestly dont have any idea, which mmr i have. And the grades after the match, dont help at all.

Yea, they shouldn’t show them. I still judge players by their grade. We are almost in the next Season, and if you play like crap AND are Ash, Gold, & Silver- it tells me you are not even good enough to pip to IRI. And I don’t want to hear anything about “well maybe they didn’t play enough as you.” No, that’s not it. The way they were playing is so bad, they will never make it to IRI. And according to some of our members on here, “it’s so easy to Pip,’ so that makes it much worse.
I’m tired of having potatoes as teammates, with Ash, Silver, and Gold- while me and the killer are both IRI I. I can’t carry them. The killer is actually competent and efficient while my teammates are not. Most games I’m at the top with the most BP post game. My favorite is when I’m the first to die because Ashe III Meg was too scared to get me off first hook, so I die and end up having more points dead then everyone alive. 😑
‘Just remove the grades like the last SBMM test. This system sucks as is and just seeing teammates low grades game after game is infuriating. Don’t even get me started on why I’m getting teamed up with them when I don’t play anything like them.

it tells you how much they play. You can also tell why ranks and sbmm really difer, because there we have the dude in iri 1 getting swatted out of the game, and then have the ash players actually do something.

you do realize grades are still not related to skill right? and if you are contantly getting paired with them after 10 games, which means your sbmm atleast is working properly , then if you are getting paired with them the problem might be on a diferent side my dude.

I agree they should be hidden.
2 -
They were hidden in the test, I dont know why they decided to show them after.
Either go back to hiding them or show the character's portrait.

That’s why I put “AND” in all caps. If you’re pulling players off hook while in chase, ragequitting, crab walking in the corners too scared to go for saves or do gens, intentionally sandbagging, ambulance chasing with flashlights, hiding in lockers for ages, & too scared to solve the lament box all while HAVING a low grade doesn’t reflect skill? C’mon now. No excuses. You don’t raise your grade playing like that. Doesn’t matter how much time you put in. It’s a reflection.
I don’t do any of that stuff- the opposite actually. Yet I’m barely running into any other survivor IRI’s, & when I do- they’re more competent than the usual potatoe skins. The IRI Killers? Like I said before, competent & efficient. Why nine times out of 10 I am at the top of the list post game dead or alive?? With a difference of 2-3K BP? Someone made a post WITH pictures two days ago showing this. I’m not the only one. It’s ridiculous. SBMM DOES NOT WORK FOR EVERYONE. Anyways we are going off topic. The only reason why I brought that part up in my previous post is to illustrate why they should just remove the grade. It’s annoying to see. If it “means nothing” (which myself & others on here don’t buy into), then don’t show it. They had the right idea during the last test.

see? sorry but you have no idea what mmr and grades is and you're just confused because they show them to us
