For me its betwen Wraith and Hag.

Wraith: Can traverse the whole map in seconds while not knowing where he is,thrives off camping, slugging, tunneling, always uses noed. Also his power takes almost no skill to use.

Hag: Camping simulator.

There are many many bad designed killers :

    • Hag
    • Clown
    • Wraith
    • Ghostface
    • Myers
    • Bubba
    • Legion
    • Trickster
    • Nemesis

Ye, almost half the killers have a garbage, unfun to play with/against design.

Killers that are not listed however have a good to great design, some would need some tweaks though.

That's the problem when a company favors quantity over quality. Releasing a new chapter every 3 months is dumb and force the developers to release something even if they have no cool idea.

Honestly, the only remarkable killers are Blight, Pinhead, Twins, Plague and Pig. I don't say they are strong or weak or anything but they all have an awesome original power design, they all bring something new and offer a different way to play with or against them.

Then we could also say that Freddy, Trapper, Nurse and Huntress are quite cool, even though not that fun.

Demo, Oni and Pyramid are okayish, standard M1 killer with some features.

    Deathslinger, Twins, Trickster.

Interesting,a lot of people say Twins is camping, slugging simulator.

I think Legion could use a full on rework. Them not having a power if the Survivor is injured is just kinda silly. Killers these days have multiple powers somewhat yeah? Like Demo has his Shred and his portals? Give Legion something secondary

EDIT: NVM remembered Hag exists, rework her, or delete her, whatever lets me not play against her ever again I'm happy with.

It has to be Hag, playing her I feel like playing a single player game instead of a multiplayer. You literally only care about your web and just slaps anyone that touches it, exciting gameplay.

Legion is a close second. I don't even know how people can like so much a killer whose power is running slightly faster for 10 seconds.

Kind of but it brings something new, i didn't say that it's perfect, the global game design needs to be modified... But you can play the Twins without tunneling or camping that much.

Map control is huge with this killer.

    😂

Bubba might be the worst design. I mean, played fair he is okay but most ppl play him to camp and tunnel so...

  • Member Posts: 2,069

    Legion.

  • Member Posts: 5,687

Legion would be what I say

You can't down Survivors with their power

    Deep wounds are a joke

    Fatigue lasts forever

Also Nurse cause the Devs can't seem to figure her out... Bugs and other things

Hag definitely forget spirit before nerf yes she had no really counterplay but just look at hag what kind of design is that? She camp tunnel and chase others all in once even if she goes after other person not unhooked one it's likely that person will go down very soon and we repeat the process yes u can Crouch but that's not really counter

  • Member Posts: 10,916
    • Nurse
    • Trickster
    • Hag
    • Twins

Not in any particular order, these are my four most terribly designed killers.

  • Member Posts: 1,069

    Probably Legion and Trickster.

One is free BP/pip booster so doesn't matter even if he 4K everyone, survivors benefit just by playing against him, cause he gives free chasing/healing points and has nothing outside of it.

Trickster is a minigun boy who just worse version of Huntress but easier to manage.

  • Member Posts: 1,243

I agree,Nemesis is pretty boring to both play as and againts, also he is pretty weak.

  • Member Posts: 2,885

Agreed same goes with Hag when I play her I don't camp with her even though i do leave a trap by a hooked survivor but i only go back to hit the survivor trying to rescue or to keep a annoying survivor that deserves to die stay right where they are lol. Hag can keep the pressure up and keep the mind games going.....besides I love using the Shackles with her for a good ole jumpscare game. By far the only killer that deserves to be on this list is Nurse...litterly has no counter play to her power and if it's even a half way decent player winning the match is a distant dream.

I would disagree with Wraith, but that seems a personal opinion for you. I feel the same about Huntress, she always camps, tunnels and runs Ruin/Undying/Lullaby. Unfun Killer. Not per design but per players using her.

    A fundamentaly flawed Killer? Nurse.

She plays the Nurse game and not DbD. Not that she is that great because most Nurses are baby nurse learning and only one out of a thousand goes on to become the unstopable Nurse god. However Nurse is flawed by design as she is only ok because people can not play her.

Right now Trickster is also no fun. I know he is not that easy to play, however his main power is to shred through your health faster than a Bubba can sprint. He still lacks map presence and has no slowdown, making him bad on big maps like Ormont or Red Forest. This is no fun for the Trickster player either. His aesthetic is cool, his chase music is fun and his lullaby is also nice; but facing him is just...

Legion. It's too easy to counter their power, not using his power increases the cooldown on their power, their power isn't that strong, and they are an extremely simple concept.

  • Member Posts: 229

Twins possibly. I really enjoy them from time to time but their gameplay is just not healthy, you just leave victor or charlotte proxy camping and call it a day. And then we have the slug fests which I guess are not very fun.

  • Member Posts: 2,005

Also Wraith: has no power at all if one survivor has a flashlight.

  • Member Posts: 97

Hag - Place triangle at loop = free hit. Good luck if you get hooked in basement.

Twins - Relies completely on slugging and camping.

Trickster - 0 counterplay in nearly all chases.

Nurse - Ignores the rules of DBD.

Twins, Legion and Nurse are all special categories of "what the ######### were you thinking?"

  • Member Posts: 6,025

    Hag.

You step on a trap you can't even see, whoa look at that she's right there.

She's annoying to go against in solo queue, but can be stomped in SWF.

  • Member Posts: 775

    Either Hag or Nemesis.

Hag when you realize what is her best tactic to win and how she could be destroyed endlessly.

Nemesis. His ability makes wonder whether this killer should exist when there are already Huntress, Deathslinger and even Trickster.

I could also include Legion and Twins but I don't think they are that badly designed to be honest.

  • Member Posts: 3,014

    Twins.

Just bad design all around. Not fun to play as or against.

  • Member Posts: 6,911

    Legion

  • Member Posts: 1,360

Except with old doctor nothing could be done, pinhead is extremely counterable, he thrives off having to earn his power, if he is getting it, it is your fault. Solving the box disables it for 45 seconds, and then it takes 90 seconds to start chain hunt once spawn, you are just bad if you are letting that happen lmao.

  • Member Posts: 1,360

For me it has to be trickster in like every way. He is entirely designed around 1v1 in a game about 1v4, while other 1v1 killers are still much better than him. His entire power is focused around tunneling survivors and never leaving chase to get value, proxy camping areas since he is 110, and not getting punished for missing or misplaying. Like the entire design of trickster could have went in a unique way, but now he is just worse than other 1v1 killers, without any special or unique strength that makes him a better pick than other killers.

    Definitely twins

a killer shouldn't be designed where camping is the most effective strategy imo

  • Member Posts: 976

I wonder if most of you will still say twins if they gave an AI element to the Dormant Charlotte or Victor, Similar to nemesis' roaming zombies. If either were more than 30m apart. Seeing how they forced a 7 second stun essentially (Without including walking over to them) if you down someone with Victor and then switch to Charlotte, you can't really blame most Twins players for employing proxy camping if the match is leaning heavily to survivors at the time. Though i agree, the devs swung and missed with the potential of this character.

For me though, i would say Billy was the worst designed character after his changes, Add-on and power wise not being fully able to utilize his power in chases with how it was intended because of abysmal turn rate even with add-ons.

  • Member Posts: 2,074

100% Nemesis. AI minions simply do not work in DBD if they gave him his actual abilities he would fit right in perfectly but they tried to make the game feel more like RE which is obviously a bad thing.

Plague. Being fully infected turns off healing, turns off stealth, and turns off most ways of getting cheeky saves. It is entirely possible to get infected without a single action that's directed specifically at you on Plague's part. The only way to temporarily fix it is to give her access to the most powerful ranged attack in the game. Oh and if your teammates decide to give her that ranged attack and you haven't had time to cleanse yet... you just die because countering the red puke when you're already injured is nearly impossible.

Pinhead makes a close second. His kit is full of Crowd Control that can prevent you from doing what you need to do. He's also got several mechanics that punish you for mistakes that you personally didn't make. To top it all off, some of that Crowd Control shows up without him doing anything to get it. None of those things feel good to face off against.

  • Member Posts: 1,380

Twins and nurse. Those are the only killers i feel like i very openly get the vibe of "i really wish we hadn't made these killers" from the devs.

  • Member Posts: 1,246

    Legion

most killers who are annoying or unbalanced are functional, while still unfair or obnoxious, they still have some level of mechanical depth

    legion does not, never has.

  • Member Posts: 2,187

It's sad to see a lot of people answering with the Twins as their power is really unique and it's one of a kind.

  • Member Posts: 4,992

Hag, Cannibal is a very close second. Same reason as you mentioned in OP.

  • Member Posts: 8,343

Twins. They are designed for a playstyle that is highly complained about. Devs always say "if killer is camping focus on gens to punish them" but then release a killer that can both camp and chase survivors off gens.

Also, they suck for points when playing against them which is what annoys me more than anything. Since chases with Victor don't actually count as a chase you can loop him for 5 gens but get 0 points because game doesn't think you were doing anything even if you were dodging hits from him for 5 minutes and distracting the killer in a chase. If you're unlucky to be downed you are then slugged and then camped for no points. Survivor sucks for getting BP and then they release a killer that lessens ability for survivors to get BP. Playing a match against them just feels like a complete waste of time with the low BP scores.

Nurse is probably one of the worst designed. Extremely outdated and able to break the rules of the game, making good players near impossible to beat if they play her.

I like high skill ceiling killers, and think it's only natural for people who put in the effort to master them to get rewarded, but Nurse goes too far. You hardly ever get a decent Nurse, it's usually one that stomps or one that struggles to get downs with how difficult she is. Blight is a great example of a well designed killer with a skill ceiling similar to Nurse, but his only issue is that most people run the most braindead build on him.

    Twins, Legion, Deathslinger and Nurse.

    Trickster, the fan-service killer.

Hag Hag Hag, most reasons were already described. This killer coud have killed DbD back in the days if she had been more popular.
