Is this true? Do Survivors only have to escape to gain MMR?
Take the hypothetical presented in the video at 3:23. If a Survivor loops the Killer for 5 gens and then dies due to NOED, but another Survivor, who didn't do much except hide, escapes the trial, the Survivor who hid gets a higher MMR than the one who interacted with the Killer the whole match? Is that correct?
I am not casting judgment on the system, regardless of the answer. I am merely trying to understand it better. Once I do, then I can form a more educated opinion.
(If anyone is interested in watching the full video, he also discusses Killer MMR.)

The official answer is that we genuinely don't know and saying otherwise is just a speculation.
My personal answer, given certain choices made by Behaviour in the past, is: "Probably, lmao."

I dont wanna watch the full video but is dowsey parodying scott jund?

I don't really watch Scott so I'm not sure if Dowsey is parodying him, but Dowsey's comment was:
Went full scott jund (sorry no cat or auditorium mic) since ppl have been asking this question a lot and I needed to answer it how I felt honestly in a video (and yes that's chocolate on my nose 🙃)

Dowsey is a less full of himself scott jund

There's no confirmation and there won't ever be since if we knew it'll be exploited. Theres been data miners snooping around the files and their idea is escaping and duration of match for best MMR gains. Died or match was to fast = less MMR. It sounds plausible, but no way to know for sure.

Oh i just found that weird

Match time is involved too

Are you calling me a loser with your emoji? I would have rather you flipped me off because that L symbol reminds me of all those twerking survivors at the exit gate. Thanks for that, pal. Now I will just go cry myself go sleep.

Why isn't there a flip off emoji?
🤔
I could find many uses for it.

*Puts on professor hat, uses pointer to focus on the thumb*
"If you look here, you will notice the thumb's angle is not what we would find were this the classic 90s "loser" diss. In that instance, the thumb and index finger would be forming a 90 degree angle, so as you can see, this is nothing more than a simple "point" emoji."
*puts pointer away dramatically*
"I rest my case!"

For what i have seen in some games watching streamers (because i have like 180 hours in the game) there is a lot of everything in the high end of the mmr, survivros that predrop and press W the whole match, people that leaves instantly, people that try to save his teammates, but that cpuld be due to him "losing" some matches and then stomping others making him having a consistant mmr.

More or less, yes. It's wildly oversimplified on survivor considering it's a 4v1 with no communication between players in a solo setting. It's extremely easy to get stuck in MMR hell in this game. Get unlucky and matched with really bad players a few games in a row? Good luck digging yourself out of that hole, because DbD is a slaughterhouse for survivors until you get 2 or 3 players who have a clue (and that's somehow shockingly rare in a 5 year old game). And we're seeing that bear out with the queue times. Known good survivors have near instant queues and good killers have omega queues.
There are so many more killers with high MMR than survivors. The playerbase as a whole is bad at the game, but it's easier for a bad killer to win than it is for a bad survivor to escape.

I've taught you well, young grasshopper. You now have more power than ever before; more power than you ever imagined.
