You're playing a video game, not fighting in a goddamn war
I just had to make this thread because reading through the forums gives me a headache sometimes.
I probably should not even be browsing this place right now since I am taking a break from DBD, but holy #########, I didn't think the "Us vs Them" mentality could get worse but it has.
I would just like to remind everyone here that you are not fighting in a war, you're playing a VIDEO GAME. You're playing something for fun. You can literally drop this at any time you want.
Survivor main this, Killer main that... It's getting to the point where no one is actually discussing or talking about anything and just parrot the same ######### over and over again. What's the point of a forum?
Flavour of the week seems to be about Dead Hard and Deathslinger. And instead of any actual discussion about how these two aspects of the game can be changed for the better. It's just a shitshow of people fighting. It's so ######### tiring, I legitimately wonder if BHVR should even listen to threads and suggestions in this forum because it's such an unproductive waste of time.
Not to say I'm not guilty of this myself... But I have gotten weary about it. I have some suggestions for the game which I think could make the game so much better. But I do run the risk of running into people who think my suggestions are rooted in me being "biased" as a "Survivor main" or a "Killer main".
Just... Who gives a ######### about that? I just want this game to be fun for both sides, I want to feel like the Killer is a threat in my survivor games, I want to feel like I have to work for my kills as Killer. How is that not an opinion someone can supposedly have without being a main of something?
I play this game casually, I don't want to feel the need to "git gud". If I make suggestions, it's with fun for both sides in mind. But right now the game is so ######### dull and stale that I just want to see something different.
Urgh... Sorry about the rant, but holy ######### this forum can feel like it's two echo chambers fighting each other. It's enough to drive someone nuts.

But just recently. i just had someone made a Actual Death Threat against me because we 4 outted a black ward freddy...
he had double ultra rares with his perks. course we didn't know it at the time and we tbagged at the exit gate afterwards...

I think it comes from the fact that this game is just unbalanced so it feels like whichever side you play is weaker due to negativity bias

Yeah, most definitely. But asymm games are unbalanced by nature. I think it's just the fact that BHVR kinda ######### up the balance so badly with so many bandaid perks instead of finding a solution that people just scramble to "fight for their side" so they don't get screwed over in balance updates.

Most people around here act like this game is their day job and their life depends on having their side buffed and the other side nerfed. If someone dares suggest otherwise, it's perceived as a personal insult.
People need to realize they are playing a character in a video game, that's all.

Some will never change and even if they change, there are enough new players, who start with the us vs. them again.
In my experience you just need to post your suggestions under "feedback&suggestions" and you avoid this kind of people. I post suggestions only in "general discussion" if i want feedback from the community and then i try to ignore useless comments.

My personal favourite thing to come from this mentality is that in the same thread I was accused of being an entitled killer main and an entitled survivor main.

It's like people forget they versing/talking to actual human beings.

Damn. Just when I was about to make a thread of the Great Big Book of Beaten Dead Horses here on the forum, someone comes through with a nicely made thread that basically discusses the same issue. Kudos.

This isn't a both sides issue. Survivors are not the ones running around making giant complicated whine threads about how every killer is a terrible player that needs their hand held and having most of the survivors on the forum mass upvote it as if what was said is profound. How about instead of making threads like this you call out these killers(And sure, if you see a survivor doing it call them out too.)
Nope. I like the Wraith nerf(Already preparing to be dogpiled for that opinion too.) But I have also supported nerfing Boons and even Dead Hard. Biased my ass.

If a player drops it, they will fall behind in rift/tomes/playtime/devotion compared to other players.
Players want to be able to keep playing the game, and it be fun. So they complain because it feels like a job.

Mods don't punish similar topic spam. Also we don't have statistics so everyone pretending he is at pro level and knows what to do. Half the comments i would mark as trolling and delete. All this comes from rules being to soft.

I don’t feel weak playing survivor at all. I have time to cleanse totems, do gens, and t-bag the killer during the game. Pretty stress free experience.

If you play the game casually, then I don’t see why any of this upsets you. Play and enjoy, regardless if you win or lose. But the fact is that if you want to win, you shouldn’t be able to do so with minimal effort. You need to sweat if you are playing against other human beings.

I don't enjoy certain aspects about the game, whether it being right now or upcoming in the new mid-chapter update.
Overall, the game's meta is incredibly stale and boring. And I am sick and tired of seeing the same perks on either side on every killer.
I play the game casually, so I care most about what is fun and exciting for me. So seeing the same perks every game and have basically the same experience every game is incredibly boring for me and it's pushing me away from the game.

No, I know I can't dictate how other people play. But you know how RIDICULOUSLY FRUSTRATING it is that you are told to "play how you want" and you can never find opportunities to "play how you want"?
I don't want to play against the same meta perks over and over again, I don't want to die first on hook because I tried to make my build work. I don't want to feel like I'm abandoning my teammates because the Killer brought perks that makes it basically impossible for me to save them without perks like BT.

Sweating is fine for competitive-minded players. But killers have a much smaller margin for error than survivors due to the 1v4 aspect, so the effort required to have a fun and competitive match as killer is higher. That’s why you see all these slowdown perks (Ruin, Pop, Corrupt, Tinkerer) in 90% (yes, I made that percentage up but the principle is valid) of killer builds. This creates frustration, and humans tend to be aggressive when they’re frustrated.

I totally agree, but balancing could help shake up the meta. I personally play to win, so I don’t mind it. However, it is annoying to see people complain about not wanting to sweat (mainly survivor mains, if im honest) but still expecting to win. You can’t have it both ways. If you want to win, you need to invest time and effort.

While of course threats and the like aren't ever acceptable, you started it by gloating and being jerks after you got an easy win, causing someone to waste some very nice addons.

We didn't even cause anything to begin with... the guy literally was doin' adept freddy with a blackward. which we didn't know about until the end. that's when he started making said threats...
and it's not my fault when someone takes the game too seriously. (Like said person i just described) plus we didn't say anything else other than gg, at the endgame..

And no, I don't believe that you just said 'GG' in the endgame. People don't taunt at the exit gates and not BM in post-game.
