In the original movies he was a child murderer.
In the remake he was a child molester.

It was a P and Phile. Perhaps because as a child he liked to kill animals, as a teenager he experienced masochism cutting himself and knowing the secret of pain, with children he kills them because they are the only ones who can give him away, in the remake as he worked in a garden of Children, he harassed and hurt them so that later their parents would find out how mentally ill Freddy was.

In the older originals it was implied that freddy was bad.
In the newest movie <Wes Cravens New Nightmare> he is confirmed to be REALLY BAD.

In the original movie/series he was suspected of being a [insert word] but it was left ambiguous - he was ambiguously avenging an unfair death after an unfair life or simply perpetuating his victimization of others. Despite what people are saying here, it's not even proven that Freddy killed kids until later entries of questionable canonicity.
In more modern media, and in the old comics/books, Freddy was far less ambiguous in his abuse toward children.

Yes, he was a kiddy diddler, it heavily implies it in his lore and he comes from the nightmare on Elm Street 2010 adaptation in which, if I don't remember incorrectly, he was burned alive for it.

Because you are wrong. In the original he killed children. In the remakes he became a pedophile. Watching it solves you making the wrong statement

No? I quite literally said "in the 2010 movie at least" after I posted that comment.

I think there was some trivia around the original movies, something about originally Freddy was supposed to be/intended to be that but either Wes Craven didn't like it and changed it or Robert Englund didn't like it and it was changed
Something like that? I'm not a big NOES fanatic but I remember hearing about that somewhere

Yeah he was supposed to be but it was changed.
"In the original script, Freddy was a child molester. According to IMDb, the villain was changed to a child killer because producers wanted to avoid comparisons to a story in California about a series of child molestations at the time of filming."
That answers are at all of our fingertips.

I can help you guys with this.
In the original movies, Freddy was a child murderer, but he always supposed to be a pedophile. Wes Craven changed it last second due to a high-profile investigation that was happening at the time, which involved many cases of pedophilia in California.
In the remake, Freddy is a pedophile, but he was originally supposed to be innocent. The film would constantly make us wonder whether he was guilty or not, only to reveal that he wasn't. This was changed at some point prior to the remake's release for unknown reasons.
And there you have it!

Classic Freddy was pretty much just a serial killer (who usually targeted children) with hilarious moments from time to time, but he was still pretty terrifying.
Now classic Freddy was a bad person, but the 2010 Freddy, I'd argue he was even worse than his classic self. While the classic Freddy was intended to be a kiddy diddler, they didn't actually make him that way. 2010 Freddy was a straight up child predator AND a child murderer.

There's a documentary on the series, the creators imply that it was meant to be subtext because they couldn't explicitly stated it outright during the time frame in fear of Studio backlash. The remake was just upfront about it.
