I quit playing for a year and now that I've come back, the FOV is disorienting.
I used to play Killer a lot, and I wanted to get back into it but, even with Shadowborn, I feel completely lost with the FOV. Compared to all the other games I've played this year, DBD is not similar to the feel of play.

Yeah having a motion sickness fix locked behind a perk is stupid and not worth running. And I still don’t understand why it’s still the case in 2021. And it’s not like you’ll ever see anyone say “Omg that shadowborn value nice” , so yeah we could use a slider tbh

FOV in this game is a joke. 87 is really low.
Maybe you dont need 120 like in some FPS games, but at least 100 should be normal quality of life in modern games

Thats why we need to go beyond 120, 140 is the goal

I still would like a reasoning why the FOV in this game is exactly 87 degrees. Since the UI change (that they never fully fixed btw) playing killer with that FOV feels like a mobile game. I think it's stupid that a survivor can literally crouch in front of your face and you can't see it without moving the camera.

I don't mean to necro a thread but, do you know of any tips? I know there's Shadowborn which like you said, is an unfortunate use of a perk slot, and then there's stuff like stretched resolution (but I consider that cheating) so, the options aren't great.

If stretched resolution helps you avoid discomfort, just do it. Cheating or not, your comfort should come first.

You either have Shadowborn, which is a wasted perk slot, stretched res, which IS cheating on survivor and QoL on killer (I don’t use it but I don’t mind killers using it), and Jesus configs, which give you base shadowborn on native, along with other things (like bps, shards, etc.) That said you really shouldn’t use it (it’s a hack that even works on survivor and is pretty unfair, and it’s bannable so you really shouldn’t use it. If you don’t want to use shadowborn I recommend stretching your res, as it’s the safest way to get more FOV, at the cost of the visual quality of the game. I never tried it but I want to as some point because the game is just making me motion sick.
