Tips to not get camped?
As I don't have too much time to play DbD anymore but I want to get one of those event outfits is there any way as a survivor to not get camped every time and farm a little bit of those plants? The progress is too slow and as killer I have too wait long to find games.

Just cross your fingers that the Killer doesn't like camping and your team isn't made out of idiots.3 -
Well yeah at least I hade ONE game where the killer didn't tunnel even if unhooked in front of him but most just have that outfit and then go and camp me. Maybe I'm playing the wrong character and/or the wrong outfit because as I've changed it I think i didn't get camped or it was just luck...
Or am I wrong and the killer queues are not that long because then I'll just switch sides 8-)0 -
I had best luck as killer with wraith. When I see 5 petal offerings and I walk around uncloaked, then back up when I see a survivor and a pustule, they can usually see I am letting them farm and they will let me hook too.
It is only because of these farms that I was able to get event stuff, but lately I have been seeing it less and less (more people out to play)...probably because most survivors have their vials now.
Best time was right after they switched the vials to 60 total on either character. More people farming in their usual roles.0 -
Play stealth. Let others get chased. Stay away from the chases.
When the trial starts, sit still. Wait for someone else to get chased.
If you have maps, they reveal plants.Take stealthy perks, and perks that let you read killer auras.

Play Killer exclusively.

I think I'll give this a try. Any special recommendation which perks? I guess urban evasion is a must have?

dont be a toxic shithead and at leat i wont camp you.
try playing stealthy otherwise and wait until the killer attacks someone else before you go to the nearest objective / wait until the killer passed your location.2 -

And seems like you are not very open minded because your first response is just that you think my playstyle is toxic.Post edited by shanks3042 on1 -

Suck the flowers until the killer sees you.
Then walk to the next hook and let him hook you, suicide.Repeat

Camping is a mentality most of the time and a killer who's a regular camper will camp you, no matter what you did or how good you are.

Nope, the whole community would be banned if it was

If I could get at least 1/3 of a vial this would be an option

Finished my 60 a while back, but am resigned to the fact that it just isn't possible to have a proper game of DbD at the minute. So OP, really doesn't matter to me if you join the suicide squad in order to speed up serum collection. You do you.

You can't prevent it - if the killer wants to camp you, you will be camped.
Luckily my experience is that most killers that camp aren't really that good at most other aspects of the game, so if you're part of a somewhat decent team they'll usually find a way to distract him or lure him way.

You'll see their auras: if they're far away, it's time to milk some juice or get on a generator. Let others do the saves too.
Second: don't run any Obsession perks. With some luck, the killer may find the Obsession first (if there's one), in this case you don't even have to wait for someone to get hit, you can simply see their icon showing they're being chased.0 -
Break out your favorite Payday 2 stealth song and just Urban Evasion everywhere.

The reality is you need to play extra stealthy until someone else is caught first. Don't start on the gen straight away, use Urban Evasion. Once the killer has been past your location or has starred chasing someone else then you can relax because they'll probably camp them instead.
Try to learn which killer you're up against first. I find Myers are ok, but if it's a Spirit, Hag or Trapper then yeah you're sure as hell getting camped and tunneled until death.
Just lay low at the start. If you have the bad luck of your location being the first place the killer goes to and you aren't able to hide because they catch a glimpse of you then you might be screwed. Just stay on the hook to waste their time and hope the other survivors gen rush. Garbage people play in garbage ways.1 -

Not a Killer main, sweetheart, but I see your advice can also be summarized as "don't get caught". The difference is, I don't insult people who use strategies I don't like.

My advice was more "don't get caught first".
I don't know what answer you're looking for. As I said the best you can do is try everything in your power to not be caught first - because those caught first suffer the old camp and tunnel.
I know it's not always possible but then I don't know what to tell you. You have no control over what the killer does so if it's going to happen then it's going to happen. There's very little you can do other than pray that when unhooked they go for rhe person who unhooks you instead.0 -

Yeah, I'm the guy who said it because, as you said, there's really nothing you can do to control the Killer's behavior. All you can do is try your best to stay off the hook; i.e. don't get caught.

I said something sinilar but at least I tried to help the guy by expanding on it so soften the blow.1 -

Sorry, but at this point, you're either a noob (at life), or you know that hiding is your best bet to not be found. It's literally the definition of "hiding".

In my opinion the best way to not get camped is to avoid being a nice clear plot of land. most people look for secluded, dry and somewhat leveled plots of land to set up camp. If you can avoid either of these ideal qualities people will be less likely to choose you as their camping destination.

Wasnt even really concentrating on the game, but got done so fast that its hilariousSometimes in life, you're so rare in number that it's "can't beat 'em, join 'em" or you really are just hindering yourself. It sucks, I didn't like doing it, but what's the point of being the only one trying to play properly in a 5-man game!?

As a killer, there's generally only three situations where I camp.
1. The doors are open. If I don't have any kills for the match yet, and the doors are open, chances are extremely high that I'm going to camp to secure at least one kill.
2. A survivor has really irritated me. If you're teabagging while looping, or popping a flashlight off in my face every time I break a pallet, in the event that I get you on a hook, I'm going to do my best to ensure you don't get off it.
3. Ready to pounce hook divers. If I can see the rest of your team hovering around the hook ready to dive in the moment I pick my nose, I'm not likely to venture far from the hook.Unfortunately, all of those are pretty hard to avoid at times. Also, that's only true for the mid to low ranks. I think at the high ranks, inexperienced killers are more likely to camp kills because they don't realize how much it hurts them.

Some characters also have a bad rep.
Bald dwight.
Jake.
Laurie
Super camouflage claudette.
Meg to an extent
Obsessions in general
Loud outfits may also contribute as it sorta marks the person as a decoy.
So they might be the nail that sticks up the most in a match.0 -

I don't have problem with this. Camping just annoys me if it happens early in game and no one is around the hook except the killer.

The problem is it doesn't hurt killers in the green ranks. It wins them games. So they keep doing it. It starts to hinder them in purple ranks, but now they've unlocked NOED and maybe another end game perk to compensate for it. So they keep doing it.
They probably won't make it to red ranks but they don't care.0 -

Are you a Freddy main?
No, former Trapper main. Switched to Doc for a good while and right now I am playing Hag a lot.
But basically I switch between (almost) all killer regulary.
Since most killer are garbage at high ranks, I play the weaker killer only after the rank reset.0
