Three mechanics rework

Hi there,

here's my idea for three reworks of ingame mechanics.


Rummaging - new mechanic

You are now able to Rummage through empty, open Chests for additional item.

Chances of finding an item through Rummaging are very low (4%).

You can only Rummage one Item from each Chest.

You can only find Items up to Rare rarity (no purple Keys or better). **Note: with upcoming Key rework, this part can be removed.

Appraisal - mini rework; now guarantees to obtain an Item through Rummaging up to 3 times and allows You to obtain higher rarity items.


Luck - new mechanic

No longer affects Your chances of escaping off the Hook or any other current mechanics.

Luck now increases the size of Skill Checks (1 Luck per 1% size increase) (both normal and Great Skill Checks).

This is not happening - now grants up to 30 Luck when injured.

Unnerving presence - now reduces Luck by 60.

With these changes, Luck is now a new player friendly mechanic that helps You with hitting skill checks. Or You can go full Luck builds and hit every Great Skill Check possible~


Cursed totems - new mechanic (name may change in the future)

Mechanic tied to the new Boon Totems.

Extinguishing a Boon Totem by the Killer now transforms it into a Cursed Totem.

Cursed Totems last for 60 seconds or until cleansed by Survivors.

Cursed Totems effects depend on the Boon Totem they've replaced (Killer gets notified what effects are applied).

Boon: Circle of Healing - when cursed. reduces Healing speed by 50%.

Boon: Shadow Step - reveals Survivors for 10 seconds after entering the Totem range (reapplied if they leave and come back).

More Boons to come in the chapter I'm currently working on :)

    Rummaging seems like waste of time, but sure.

    Luck rework looks good, but you would also need to buff Slippery Meat, because it would be quite bad without stacking Luck.

    Cursed totems kinda one-sided, but if you tried to do anything like that for hexes, they would be really useless to use.

    I agree that Rummaging is intended to be a waste of time. I don't mean it to act as free items for Survivors but more like a last-ditch effort when they desperately may need a help of an item. If we allow Keys to be Rummaged, I'm gonna look forward to the "I'm last survivor alive, Killer closed the Hatch and there's no chance of opening the Gates but I rummaged a chest for 4% and found a key which I used for an epic escape" Youtube montage videos.

    I see no problems with buffing Slippery Meat although I don't think it'd ever be picked over Deliverance so rework might be better overall.

    I don't quite understand how Cursed Totems are related to the Hex Totems? And I don't think it would be one-sided. Survivors can prevent Cursed Totems by placing Boons strategically and not just in any random place. They can also cleanse them or avoid the areas that they're placed at.
