Candyman Killer

Here is my idea for Candyman for DBD, hope you like my ideas and potentially add on to it maybe.

Candyman: Power

Candy man has 5 mirrors around the map and he can teleport to them which takes 3 seconds (similar to Demo). He can only teleport to a mirror 3 times until that mirror breaks and can never be used again. For survivors, they can break the mirrors which will take 10 seconds to break by default and once you commit to breaking the mirror you can not cancel it. Only one mirror at a time can be broken, when a survivor is breaking a mirror Candyman gets a notification and can teleport to the survivor without the survivor knowing. (similar to Pinhead) When Candyman teleports, he teleports behind the survivor and can hit the survivor to infect them with bees and cancel the breaking action. Once bees are on the survivor they leave increased scratch marks and make louder noises. Survivors can swat away the bees while running or standing still, swatting the bees while standing still will make the effect go away faster.

Candyman: Add ons

For the basic add ons they can either increase the time it takes to break the mirror, increase the effect of the bees, increase the time it takes to swat away bees, or increase the chances of a mirror being near a gen.

Red addons- Honeycomb and Here to stay

Honeycomb- When a survivor is breaking a mirror they already become infected with bees and when Candyman teleports behind them they can be hit for a health state.

Here to stay- Increased Mirror break count from 3 to 6 but multiple mirrors can be broken.

Candyman: Perks

"Say my name"- If a survivor is out of the killers TR and fixing a gen and hits 5/4/3 skill checks in a row they will scream randomly and alert the killer to where they are.

"Be my victim"- When chasing the obsession you move at 3%/5%/7% increased movement speed and reduced stun duration to pallets.

Hex- "Sweets to Sweets"- When downing a survivor you gain a token. For each token you get, you increase the progress of the entity on the hooks.

Hope you like my ideas and if you have any questions that need to be clarified, let me know.😁👍🏾

Before you even read this Disclaimer- My suggestions here is full of a lot of constructive criticism be prepared or skip if you can't handle it.

All things listed are just my opinion take it with a grain of salt I'm not demanding anything just suggesting. Thank You!

For a killer named Candyman I assumed it would be more geared towards a Pseudo Clown styled killer niche but for the name there really isn't much reference towards candy and should be reworked to fit the theme better or renamed.

As for the mirror teleport power the mirror spawns will rely heavily on RNG or will just take the same placement of the pigs saw boxes or plagues basins etc. making them not very worthwhile compared to freddy's ability to teleport to gens, Demo's/ hag's ability to place where they are going, and even the nurses ability to teleport. Not to mention they can only be used 3 times or less if a survivor gets to them.

On the mirrors themselves Having survivors take 10 seconds to break the mirror, it being not able to be canceled, Only letting 1 mirror at a time be worked on, the killer getting a notification which lets them teleport behind the survivor steathily, getting a free hit and infecting them whilst canceling the action then leaving increased scratch marks and make louder noises. All of this sounds kinda absurd don't you think? You know like when kids are battling each other with super powers and trying to say what moves they are using to beat the other one.

"Say my name"- If a survivor is out of the killers TR and fixing a gen and hits 5/4/3 skill checks in a row they will scream randomly and alert the killer to where they are.

-SMN perk undermine and punishes the survivor for good play It also stays active the duration of the entire game If you want to leave the perk as is you'd need to consider rebalancing it into a Hex: Perk or token perk and writing a counter balance like if a great skill check is hit effect resets but then you'd have to find a way to balance it to make more skill checks happen. Whew.

"Be my victim"- When chasing the obsession you move at 3%/5%/7% increased movement speed and reduced stun duration to pallets.

-BMV is a decently balanced perk but can be overshadowed easily by Fire up.

Hex- "Sweets to Sweets"- When downing a survivor you gain a token. For each token you get, you increase the progress of the entity on the hooks.

-STS (you missed the pun the sweet taste of death XD) Anyways .... Monstrous Shrine clearly defines what it does per new dbd standard and I'd need more to go off of to give a real critique but from what I think I'm understanding. If someone is hooked and you down someone else it subtracts X amount progress off the hooked survivors bar if that is the case I dont see why a token system is really needed. Now if its the opposite and if a survivor goes down while one is hooked you go to the next phase on the hook that is way to OP, and if its a happy medium where the more tokens you get the faster the bar drains in general regardless Then that would fundamentally make your killer a "camp the hook" style of killer which is fine if by design but that coupled with the teleport system on mirror breaking presents the obvious problem of camping and farming mirrors for quick hook kills.

All in all It is a very good killer concept however there are way to many aspects to the basic power of this killer and it needs to be redesigned and brought into line (and theme) of the killer you're trying to portray. With a little bit of editing here and there You could make a very good killer concept.

I just wanna sum some things up after reading your reply.

    1) This is not a brand new killer idea, it is an idea for if they add Candyman, the horror movie classic.

    2) I thought about the mirrors more and the mirrors will spawn at each gen making pressure good with other known gen perks like tinkerer. The sound effect will be pretty loud for when he is coming out of a mirror near you so it should give you time to get away if your in that area. Remember it takes him 3 seconds to use the portal so you better move fast.

    3) The mirror mechanic is not really absurd because you don't have to break it. It gives survivors an ultimatum to either get rid of killer transportation to the gen and alert him to you or let the mirror sit while the killer is wondering which mirror to go to and you keep doing gens.

    4) The Hex STS; sorry for not going into deeper depth of what it specifically does. When you down a survivor you gain a token and that token increases all hooks (except for basement hooks) entity death speed. The max is 5 tokens, and 1 token= 2% 2 token= 4% 3 token= 6% 4 token= 8% and 5 token= 10% increased progress. If someone is already on hook while someone got downed, the progress will not apply to them unless they get put back on a hook. This will put pressure on survivors because the more downs the more they have to find that hex and try not to slip up and get hooked and out of the game quickly.

    4) BMV won't really be overshadowed by Fire up because Fire up does nothing for killer movement speed for chases or the stun of pallets. But for the rework I thought of, it would be like Remember Me (Freddy perk) with concept of becoming obsessed with one survivor and not the obsession.

    5) For SMN, I will rework it a bit here, If a survivor is in the killers TR, they will be met with more skill checks and if they miss a skill check that survivor will scream and become exhausted for 5 seconds.

By becoming obsessed with one survivor and not the obsession, what do you mean by that?

If your in a chase for more than 20 sec without injuring them then you become obsessed with whatever surv your chasing. If a survivor is injured while in chase then the perk wont activate.

Wait, so this just works on any Survivor you’re chasing for 20 seconds every time the perk is activated?
