Will DBD be banned from Steam due to the NFTs?

Just buy a console pleb. -.-

If they do, it would be a blessing and help me break my addiction to this game.
3 -
Well if they do I hope BHVR at least give every Steam player keys (with keys I mean the game + DLCs already bought) to Microsoft Store I guess, and find someway to transfer datas and everything, I don't even know if this game has cross-progression yet.

It's worth mentioning that, at least to my understanding, the game getting removed doesn't mean Steam players will lose access to it- it just means that the game will be taken off store pages.

if it gets banned, they must refund full price dlcs included
2 -
😂 I shouldn't laugh at this the night before a patch.

If (emphasis on if) Dbd gets removed from Steam anyone who bought it would keep the game and all DLC. The only major problem would be new DLC. As there is basically no way BHVR doesn't own your player data and / or hosts it on their own servers it should be possible to hook it up to an Epic account, if (again emphasis on if) the game gets removed from Steam and if they move it to the Epic store instead.

if the game gets banned on steam, when will you be issuing full price refunds?
1 -
you can't do that without the players permission. Also if it gets completely removed from steam, a refund for the whole shebang is legit.
3 -
But it means no more updates, and if your game isn't updated, you can't play.
7 -
It won't be.
2 -
Very possible, I hadn't considered that.
1 -
Like, from Steam to Microsoft Store? If I own the game and some DLCs, I can transfer them to Microsoft Store?
0 -
You're absolutely right, no more updates would cause massive problems and basically cut off the Steam playerbase from the rest.

I think there is cross-progression between Steam and Stadia, and cross-progression with Switch is being worked on. I don't think cross-progression between the Windows Store version and other versions of the game is currently possible.

Not looking good for DBD on steam...
1 -
Hight doubt it would have any effect on hackers/cheaters since the issue isn't steam its that BHVR is way to client-heavy with their multiplayer model, making it very easy to cheat
0 -
If anything I think the hackers/cheaters will skyrocket, now that the game is in jeopardy and multiple people will take advantage of 'having fun' while they can.

Steam used some more vague language than just games with NFT transactions inside of it but even said games that would facilitate NFT transactions. It's certainly a grey area and it will be up to steam to act or not, but they could absolutely use this situation as grounds to ban DBD off their platform just a matter of if they will or not.

That is a very real possibility, people may go with the apocalypse anarchy approach and stop giving a #########

I just had a gander on otogomes twitter:
They seem like tin-foil, crack-pot conspiracy theorists! Tweets about 9/11 not being a terrorist attack and anti-vaxx bullshit... they are very strong, wacko theories. And BHVR teamed with them?
That's a horrendously bad partnership they have there!
0 -
that's actually not very surprising. it's exactly those kinds of people that are absolutely into crapto, thinking there is anything positive to it.
The same people who STILL mock and belittle commission artists that 20$ for a full-colour, full-shaded, drawn backgroun 3/4 picture is too expensive.
7 -
More troubling is that, by association, people may believe both parties share that same political viewpoint.
To make it clear, I'm not saying BHVR do share the same views, but I could understand if people would start to believe that they did share similar opinions. I cannot imagine a company teaming with another if certain political views that may be deemed dangerous are held only by one, especially if it's as mad as Otogomes is.

Answer: No.
DBD doesn't qualify for that based on this rule.
- "Applications built on blockchain technology that issue or allow exchange of cryptocurrencies or NFTs."

I doubt BHVR is making any money off of the NFT's. I'm sure it was part of the licensing agreement to allow the license holder to use the character model for other purposes. BHVR is not the company producing the NFT's.

This game is not getting removed from Steam

We dont have enough data about the whole affair yet but depending on how it develops Steam may get rid of the game if it violates their new policy.
I said this on other thread, China is taking steps towards a ban on cryptocurrency and if they decide to ban NFTs too Valve could face a serious problem in China which is a HUGE market for them, I doubt Valve would risk their position there and if they have to ban a game they will, wathever DBD or any other game earns for Valve is nothing compared to the whole chinese market.
Like the church guy in L4D says: "better safe than sorry".
P.D. at this point they should just remove Pinhead and refund the money because its being more damaging than anything else.

You PCrs don't actually need 60+ frames and pings under 70 do you? Console life is amazing come on over! :)

Us field hands will show them the way!
2 -
This would be a great example to demonstrate that (corporate) greed should eventually come to back to bite you in the you know where.
I’d be thrilled to see this joke of a game (in its current state) get banned on Steam.

"Just buy a console" Oh how the tables have turned.😂
3 -
No but they said themselves that they are working with them to create the NFTs

I hope so this game deserves it

Get yourself a ps4 for bloodborne, its pretty good

Update for all: A recent pic of the DLC's reviews on Steam
If you haven't already, make your voice heard and give your opinion on Steam. One way or another, BHVR will learn what they got themselves into. #DeadByBoycottNFTs

I don't know what to say ... hmmm hard to say. Do I feel sorry for dbd or not hmmm that's hard. Jokes aside
Whats happening? And what's this thing about steam?
0 -
If u want to discuss it, Stop spamming same topics and go under bigger one. They are not going anywhere. Game itself doesn't promotes or has anything to do with NTFS.
So they don't violate steam rules.
2 -
Ok then then what's the threads talking about I'm confused
0 -
And spamming what dude?
0 -
For my own sake, completely selfishly, I hope it doesn't get banned -- but who knows? I have no idea whether letting people redeem NFTs for content goes against the policy.

I honestly do not get how this otogomes and BossProtocol are linked together. As far as I see this guy is just somebody who likes cryptos. Maybe a conspirancy theorist who loves cryptos, but I fail to see the link to BossProtocol and BHVR. Please enlight me about the connection as I do not get it.
Shame that this is the way because the DLC itself is pretty good. Pinhead is a fine character and fun to play. But oh well, no way out, right?

People are speculating that DBD might get banned from Steam since Steam recently updated their rules to ban NFT/Crypto games, but the rule added wouldn't apply to DBD in the first place.
Unless Valve somehow cares that in-game codes to unlock in-game content can be gotten by purchasing NFTs or BHVR decides to integrate NFTs into DBD so people can exchange them via the in-game store, Valve has no reason to remove DBD as it's not breaking any of it's rules.
1 -
People hearing half of it and a lot of parroting.

I'm not sure either, but I want to know why this guy has a very vested interest in this product, compared to any other cryptocurrency. Most recent stiff has been about that, and whilst I'm unsure what link (if any) there is, I also feel he's unhealthily intrigued by this specific thing.
I was almost going to create a topic on it, until I couldn't find any tangible link that was obvious between him and the cryptocurrency. I just am not understanding about his interest and it males me feel uneasy.
Edit: He is a rep of some sort, and has some connection with Boss Protocol. A mentor of sorts.

DBD will only please humans, secretly modify and weaken the killer game experience, and consume killers to squeeze their wallets

Epic imo is just not taking a stance against it for fluff. They want more games on their platform, and their main competitor is steam, they don't have the luxury to shoo titles off the platform other than adult games. That being said, the actual blockchain and NFT titles that are out aren't throwing their titles on Epic as a first choice because quite honestly, no one would even bother picking them up when the competition on epics platform itself between games is a AAA battleground. B-listers need not even apply.

I do not think that they would go this far. As BHVR said they hand out code to their partners when they do a license. There is no further control about what is done after they hand out the codes. As such it would be quit unfair to judge the publisher based on what happens with those codes after they have been handed out.
