Is this a joke? They further nerfed deathslinger by making ms addons COMPLETELY worthless
- Add-on - Wanted Poster: Decreased movement speed while aiming to 2.5% (was 10%)
- Add-on - Jaw Smasher: Decreased movement speed while aiming to 1% (was 5%)
What is this trash addons? Are you kidding me? BHVR, why cant you take your time and rework a killer with QUALITY, instead of making these laughable changes. You could've deleted this addons really, whats the point of them? They are so bad.
So they made Deathslinger weak, clunky and unfun to play, and now he will stay like this for uncertain amount of time. One year, maybe two? Thanks for this lazy and awful "rework"

Death slinger will never be weak as long as he can instantly shoot and he can still shoot pretty much instantly. Who cares if the addons got nerfed he still has the exposed one and the reload ones, killers are just overreacting. It might be a buff now that he walks faster

Deathslinger weak? Haha you have not seen a good deathslinger. He is rated A tier for a reason, and he still has really good addons.

A TIER? A killer that has no map pressure, is slow af, and is completely overshadowed but another killer (Huntress) has no right to be A tier.

I care. When they make a 1% MS increase totally garbage addon, it just shows how rushed and lazy were the changes they did. And thats the only change they did from PTB, making these two unique addons worthless. Also, instant shooting doesnt make a killer instantly good, but i dont even want to argue on that topic.
I just want to express my frustration, that instead of making a well-thought out rework to a killer, they chose this quick path. They tweaked some numbers, making killer clunky in the process and weaker. Then instead of reworking potentially problematic addons, they changed their values to ONE PERCENT and left them like that.
What they did is a minus one killer in the roster, thats basically it. They were to lazy to make a good rework. I mean they could've deleted him really, if he is so problematic and in need of urgent changes, that BHVR dont have time for by the looks of it. I believe that they'll leave him like that for a looooong time.

Its because most of their power was rolled into baseline deathslinger to compensate for the ADS nerfs. Similarly to how they shifted some of the ghostface cooldown from addons into basekit with this patch as well.

Deathslinger was completely fine before these changes. His ADS was predictable and reactive-able. Seems to me, the basis for these changes is coming from some inexperienced players that complained loudly enough to merit the change. His new changes are clearly underpowered compared to huntress and trickster.

It was tested, that his quick scoping is not reactive-able. At least not by a human. Especially not in DbD with these servers. Even if you would be inhuman quick, there is no way the game would allow you to doge the shot.

Are you calling me inhuman? I have run a few different cowboys for five gens and managed to avoid getting shot. It's a visible anticipation and it's also predictable in hallway environments.
Any human with fully functioning eyes and every day motor skills can do it. Quick scoping still had several frames of animation before the shot goes off, so I doubt that testing you're describing was proper.

Ill say one last thing about topic.
I thought that i'd still be able to play him with 2 movespeed addons combined, and have fun with flicking my aim. Now when they made this astonishing O N E P E R C E N T I N C R E A S E change, deathslinger has no redeeming qualities in his kit. 32 meters TR, 110%, half a second delay before shooting, and i will be watching this pathetic animation of him slowly raising a rifle. This killer is gone for me.
And since he was the only fun killer for me, and the reason i rarely came back to play this game, ill have zero incentives to play it. Thats probably good, because i always disliked the devs, and thought they manage their game terribly. My addiction to it is long gone.

I am not calling you inhuman but what "you" did there was based on him missing..
First of all, the scoping animation means nothing. He can simply fake his ability. You never know when he is shooting until he is actually shooting. There is no indicator of knowing if he is actually pressing the trigger.
Second, the protectile speed is 40 meters per second. A human needs about 200-300 milliseconds alone just to react and press a button. To that 300 milliseconds, you have to coordinate your character model to the side, which takes, even if you are very quick with your mouse, at least 300 milliseconds, but this might depend on your DPI. And now, combine those factors with the delays on our servers, where you even get hit after you have vaulted a window already half a second ago.
Even a close to max range shot is not so easy to dodge (no problem with Deadhard, because its just pressing the button) but you will most likely find yourself in a scenario, where he is less then 20 meters away simple due to his terror radius and map design.. You have half a second to physically move out of the way of the projectile which is impossible because of all the factors i have already named.

I have not ever struggled against a cowboy and these changes are going to make it easier to lock him down. 200 to 300 milliseconds for both the cowboy and the survivor, as it would take the average cowboy that long to be able to confirm he wants to attempt to ADS, correct? What I don't see accounted for in your description is the time it takes cowboy to aim, which is dependent on predictable environmental factors. Since the conditions for a successful shot are going to require the same constraints you described about the survivor, it's pretty clear there's more than enough reactive tolerance for a survivor to anticipate the shot.

It is totally irrelevant how quick the Slinger is with shooting since you have no idea if he is actually shooting until you see the projectile or hear the little delayed BANG. He could just fake it or not. If you react to his fake, this is not reacting to his shot. And reacting to the shot is the millisecond AFTER he actually fired the shot.
Therefore, how is this relevant if he takes 200 millisecond to shoot? It also takes 200 millisecond to fake.

You can easily react to it on 10+ meters and dodge it, because it is not like Huntress car projectile, it's super small.
Better players have reaction time around 300 ms, pro players can get around 120-150. This is 400ms + travel distance.
What that means? He can't just shoot survivors looking behind. Survivors don't need to predict really when he shoots, they only need to predict if he is going to, so it's 50/50, where Deathslinger is punished hard, if he gets it wrong.
He is forced to zone with walking ADS while you dance for him. So much fun...

I explained above, why it is impossible to react to his shot. On max range, it might be if the server is good (which we all know is not the case), your ping is great and you have decent reaction time. On 20 meters, it is impossible.
And 10 meters?
You have 250 milliseconds between shot fired and hit. The reaction and movement time alone is not even enough (even for the fastest human on earth) to doge that. Now take into consideration the massiv delay we have on our servers. Compare POV from survivor and killer and you will see that there is a big difference from the action the killer takes to what the survivor sees. The delay alone makes it already impossible to dodge the 10 meter shot.

I am not saying you will react to the shot, but you can react to ADS easily and Deathslinger can't flick because of his lower sensitivity while ASD and weird POV.
He can't get away with just shooting, he has to hold ADS, which looks like #########.

Well, reacting to ADS means you are also reacting to his fake. I was not debating that, but here some seriously claim, you can react to the actual shot.

You can with Dead Hard. Well, I am used to play with <30ms.
I just played 5 game on him and I am done with him.
He feels worse to play than Huntress and he is worse as a killer than Huntress.
I don't care about how good he is, change his TR, nerf fake ADS, nerf addons, I couldn't care less, but they had to nerf quick-scope. Only thing he was better compare to other ranges killers and he feels like ######### now, because of that.
So he has long ADS, but he has limitations that other ranged killers don't and has tiny hitbox. His POV and sensitivity in ADS is just terrible. It wasn't really known before, because everyone quick-scope, so it didn't matter.
If you try to tell me that 400 ms is not big nerf, then I guess you have never played FPS games. Even ######### 60 ms matters for guns. Deathslinger was played mainly by FPS games players, because he has a ######### gun, which can quick-scope. Well, he had....
That's why I started playing him, I have probably over 200 hours just on him and it's just wasted now. Time to learn Trickster I guess. SMG still works...
