The Deathslinger, a bad Killer who is now even worse
I'm just wondering, what is going on in the devs' brains. Why nerf a bad Killer with almost no compensation because he was "unfun". If he was "unfun" why not try to balance him to make him more fun than just straight up killing him. Which Killer will it be next, Blight? Nurse? Maybe even Demogorgon since he is the only Killer left that can attack almost immediately after faking his power? Please don't touch our favorite puppy

When was deathslinger ever bad? He was B tier since release and is now low B high C

It's definetly not tier worth nerfing.
Most people don't care about his power-level, he was always worse Huntress, problem is that he is also just not fun to play now.
Deathslinger doesn't really suck as a killer, he is still better than some weaker killers like Clown, Legion, Myers, Freddie etc., but he sucks to play as, even Freddie is more fun to play now and that used to be most boring killer to me.
Because of longer ADS, I get same feeling as Huntress with Wind-up time addons. Problem is that unlike Huntress, Deathslinger has several limitations. He gets more punished for single miss, he can't down over pallet / far window, he has limited range, he has super tiny hitbox that is easy to dodge, his ADS sensitivity + FOV just sucks, so he can't even flick and he also has longer time to down on avarage than Trickster / Huntress.
ADS sensitivity + FOV were always bad, but noone did it, because of quick-scope, so it wasn't an issue before.
Deathslinger was played by FPS players a lot, because they could use skills they already had, but that's not a thing anymore after quick-scope nerf.
Quick-scope was only thing he was better at than Trickster / Huntress, so right now, there is just no reason to play him, unless you enjoy looking at old guy with [BAD WORD] up leg, but no kink shaming.
Zoning is same as Huntress, you just hold your power, but I don't know about you, it's way easier with Huntress, because of that FOV that Deathslinger gets looks terrible and she has bigger hitbox, so easier to hit.

I disagree with him being high C tier now. His 1v1 got nerfed which was the onkzly thing he was good at, and he never had any 1v4 to begin with so he's like mid-low D tier, still better than Killers like Myers, Pig, Trapper and Trickster

He didn't need a nurf. He was fine how he was and I don't even play him. He's rare to face, now he'll ultra rare.

myers a weaker killer until he springs a 3v1 on your [donkey] 60 seconds into the match at 5 gens
unsure, even if he's really specific perk/addon reliant think he's pretty much the best m1 killer there is

Myers is one of the weakest killers, unless you have useless team-mates that are not able to look around and give him free stalk, but I wouldn't really balance around noobs...

do you want i should link you several videos of t3 a minute into the game vs average survivors, with or without tombstone piece? only certain loops/map designs really disadvantage him from getting much stalk out of people but he often doesn't have much issue with green stalk addon
perk reliant because stuff like bamboozle/play with your food is quite necessary on the instakill setup to catch people out sometimes, but you can do a ton with the former even without the game ender addon...s

Yeah, you can get tier3 fast in open maps, or bad survivors.
Problem is that on some maps it takes way longer and with lot of pallets you might not even get down from it.
Sloppy butcher works on them, they use basic attacks for down, so that is m1 killer, isn't it?
Is Wraith m1 killer? he also uses his power to get closer to survivor.
Wraith used to be better than Myers, I am not sure how much bad it will because of that lunge nerf, so hard to tell.
What is your definition of m1 killer? That killer has to walk towards that survivor and down only with m1?
There is not many killers that fit that, so it wouldn't really be win to be best at it...
Cenobite is better I think, with correct perks.

myers is way better than a lot of people give him credit for, that's all i have interest in positing at this time as it gets old explaining this [sheesh] in like 6 different threads and hearing the same weak arguments to why he's a low-end killer every time
m1 killers don't have a way to attack or screw you out of a loop with their power in a direct fashion
nurse is not a m1 killer because she teleports right next to your [donkey] through an entire house to hit you with her m1 suddenly, the game doesn't even classify it as a regular attack but stuff like exposed work with blink attacks yes
wraith is a m1 killer and any consideration that his lunge out of cloak might blur this line since it had a bit of antiloop to it, well, lunge nerf, he's very much susceptible to a lot of the things m1 killers are and then some since windows are his bane in cloak
cenobite is also a blurred line until you put on engineer's fang and randomly injure people out of nowhere from basement floor of gideon when they're half a mile away on main floor, between that and having a capacity to screw over loops with chains he probably isn't a m1 killer really
legion's problem is that while you can stall survivors for a bit with deep wounds and basically make everyone perma-exposed if they give up healing (and they generally don't even bother at higher mmr) they're reduced to a m1 killer that just has everyone 'exposed+' in a sense
that seems to be the gist of what i've seen m1 killers referred to as and it makes sense to me, it's defined by how loop susceptible a killer is because ultimately yes if you're reduced to running around having to tag someone with m1 (whether 1-shot or not) your options to not get 'skilled on' by god pallet pre-drops or somesuch are very limited
but out of those myers just instakills you if he makes contact with you or catches you out, so.. yeah, better not [eep] up and get mindgamed

What? Spirit and Nurse are M1 killers in the end. Does not matter if they Phase/Teleport the swing is a basic atk. Huntress, Blight, Trickster, DS, Billy, Bubba, plague, Demo, Twins, nemesis, and I guess Oni as well are the ones that are NOT M1 killers.

It still baffles me how they nerfed the 1v1 of a killer whose only thing he's good at is 1v1. Hillbilly, Nurse, Spirit, etc at least all have good 1v4 and can compensate in other areas their changes, but this guy was just barely good and they straight up made him a bad killer that's also unfun to play as.
I'll say it again. Might as well have deleted the killer and refunded the Shards/BP/Auric invested on him. Every major Slinger main that I know is dropping him, his existence is pointless now. Just like Hillbilly, he's a high skill/low reward killer, and worse, because he's now low fun as well due to removing the best feature of him (quickscope).

Fun fact, Deathslinger actually is an M1 killer unless you break his chain. The swing post reel is considered an M1. That's why STBFL works on him. Chain breaks can't down people, so I'd count him as an M1 killer.

The real travesty here is that they changed pigs 28 m terror radius to 32 m to make her more inline with 115% ms killers, yet here deathslinger is, a 110% ms killer with 32 m terror radius.
But lets be real, the first mistake was taking the "give the killer a gun" meme a little too literally.

Yup technically. He is considered range though but I agree. Pig technically can be considered as well.
