Survivors and Killers not appearing on screen

Loaded game, opened the store, purchased the Jonathan Byers skin and the Steve full skin with the yellow rubber gloves (do not know its name)
Exited to main menu and all the survivors around the campfire and the killer were gone.
Clicked onto survivor menu and no survivors were appearing on the right of the screen when selecting each character. No prompt to exit back to main menu from this
Clicked onto killer menu and killers would not appear on the right hand side when each selected.
Only happened once, do not know how to replicate
