Entity & Yearly Blight Purge

So, now that The Blight is in the realm as a Killer, and it's been said that blighted events have ended, has there been a Lore explanation for why the events no longer happen? Where does the entity stand with its yearly purge? Has its biology changed, and the purge is no longer needed? The Blight himself could not have possibly drained every drop of serum from all realms within the reach of the Entity.

Edited to expand: if we're getting a Blighted Nemmie and PH, and new Nea skin called "Vigo's Apprentice", could it mean that survivors (or alt versions of them on a different plane) are continuing serum experiments?

(Curious, and also disappointed that we won't have a serum-collecting, cosmetic-earning event :'( )

The Entity didn't stop having the yearly blight. We are not getting the event because Talbot/Blight mutated into the mindless feral beast and is no longer around to experiment with the blight. If we get Talbot back somehow we may get another event cause the main reason he will keep experimenting with the blight is to find a way to escape the realm.

Right, but we're getting 2 new killers being blighted, after the experimentation by Talbot has stopped. We also have previous survivors dressed as apprentices or assistants of Vigo, clearly having used serums in studies. Somewhere, pustulas must still be popping up and someone is still messing around with them.

Sorry, just smells of cheap excuse to not provide a large Halloween event this year.

Tell the devs that, they mentioned that on a stream and a tweet that the blighted event and the story for that event ended when they turned Talbot/Blight into a mindless monster. Any stories we get for Talbot/Blight will be a prequel not a sequel (unless they say otherwise) and any blighted skins we get for the killers is from before he mutated.

The blight is part of the entity's anatomy as far as we now, they are still happening but since the event was centered around the blight (killer) and his story ended there's no reason to explore the team anymore.

I'd beg to differ... It doesn't make sense to get blighters killers who were brought in by the entity after Talbot's transformation, yet retcon it and say it happened before. The other survivors, or even the Observer, could introduce a new storyline that revolves around the serums, or even an effort by a character to "cure" Talbot.

There was never a truly satisfactory answer to *how* Talbot captured, knocked out, or restrained any killer to perform these experiments; since he wasn't a survivor, he couldn't have stabbed them in the back with a vial A Lá Decisive Strike.

There's just so many more ways to continue the blighted events and the story. IMHO, which isn't worth much.

I was just mentioning what might have been their reasoning, I liked the theme of the blight and wanted more story too

The serum is what gives him the strength to capture the killers and he later was able to harness and use part of the Entity's own power, devs already confirmed that. Talbot was a survivor and he was hunted by the killers in the first Halloween event story. This is part of the Hallowed Blight Journal.

They really should have kept Talbot around and use him like how they are using the Observer, at least there will be a chance of getting new things instead of what they did by ending the event and the story. The way they built Talbot and the theme of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde they give him, give them the option to do many things with him and he still has a chance to be cured cause unlike the other killers he mutated while in the realm cause of a high dose of the serum. They can even give us an event that let us the players cure him, I hope they see potential and use it.

i always thought time wasn’t linear in the realm so Talbots and blight could both exist but idk

They can keep Blight around for gameplay or separate Blight and Talbot, and we end getting both Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the serum can be used as the reason for that.

That's very true, and Yui's tome proved there's endless alternate versions of our survivors. That's why I'd like to think all the skins of survivors being Vigo's assistant/covered in serum means in another sub-realm, they're still experimenting and trying to find a way out.

Devs said cosmetics are not canon. The only canon skins are the default skins and the blighted killers skins because it canonically connects to Talbot/Blight lore. They also said there is only 1 of each characters in the realm. Since the Entity favor some of its food it may just wait till one character is in the void then it takes another version of the same character in the realm.

True, mcote also gave a similar answer when someone asked him if there would be survivor version of a killer and vice-versa.
