Boosted Perk Slot

Someone else made a thread similar to this one a while ago, but I feel like the discussion got lost. The concept is pretty simple, when you reach Prestige I, the first perk slot becomes a boosted perk slot. What this boosted perk slot does, is it grants that perk a selected bonus. Each perk will have 3 bonuses to choose from: reaching Prestige I allows you to choose 1 bonus, reaching Prestige II allows you to choose 2 bonuses, and reaching Prestige III allows you to have all 3 bonuses. Only 1 perk slot may be boosted (could be expanded later in the future).

I had made a list of possible bonuses, but finishing the list is taking far longer than I anticipated. I am trying to think of what bonuses could be applied and trying to water down the ideas that would otherwise be overpowered, as I want these bonuses to be balanced. I will share the link when it's finished. In the mean time, what bonuses would you like to see in these perks? Some bonuses will behave like a new Tier, while other instances, they change up how the perk works.

Some examples:

  • Sprint Burst - changes the perk's trigger from activating while running to pressing the Activate Ability button while running.
  • Dark Sense - sees the Killer's Aura whenever a generator is completed.
  • Hex: Ruin - when cleansed, the hex effect will persist for 60 seconds.
  • Rancor - when revealed, the obsession's aura and location shows up as purple.

That idea should simply be a built in mechanic for totems as long as they cant fix hex spawns.

Activateable sprint burst is literally broken

This literally defeats the Purpose of Prestiging.

Currently, there is no real purpose to Prestiging. You lose your entire inventory for that character, you get one cosmetic piece, and slightly better chances at getting some good items.

If anything, this will actually motivate people to prestige by making it more worth while.

Many of the bonuses are things that could or should be added to make the perk better. By design, the killers will have slightly better bonuses than survivors. With Sprint Burst, one bonus is used up to grant the user control. Other speed perks like Lithe or Balanced Landing don't need a bonus to restrict it's activation, so it can have bonuses that players cannot get with Sprint Burst.

Having a chance to get better items is the closest to real Prestige you can be.

Nonono, please don't continue the mistake that is the prestige system.
BHVR needs to remove the prestige system and don't let people remove 50 levels of perks for 1 cosmetic.
There is already enough perks to allow a system where you get a cosmetic every 50 levels, just remove prestige and allow up to 999 levels on each character, then gradually increase chance to get better items every 50 levels. Then give the bloody pristiges at 50, 100 and 150.

Your ideas sound like rad changes to the perk themselves tho.
