Why Can't BHVR Be More Transparent With Their Community?

I'm wondering why it is that BHVR seem to always be in radio silence mode. We rarely get to know any of what's in the works until the patchnotes are dropped a week before they launch, or in todays case, we get the patchnotes as the update drops.

Why can't BHVR tell us what it is they're currently working on adding to the game and fixing? I'm not expecting anything like "oh well the next killer is going to be X." rather information like killers they're currently looking at, and what they're planning on changing. The prime bugs they're working on fixing. Perks that are currently having buffs or nerfs proposed. Features they're working on, etc, etc.

I feel the community at large would be far less upset with BHVR if we at least knew what to expect coming into new patches. Rather than, here's your notes, Deathslinger has been murdered and also the game doesn't work. But instead we get complete silence until the next update which makes it incredibly hard to keep faith in the team. Especially with the recent fiasco to do with Pinhead.

They don't answer questions directly when asked either. It's always a run around answer half the time it feels like.

Because this community is immensely hostile, toxic, and prone to reading the absolute worst into everything that the company says or does. Not to say no criticism is warranted, just that this community - as a whole - takes it way too far very consistently.

If they say what killers they're looking at, anything that comes out between them saying that and them pushing out changes for that killer will be treated as them lying about looking at those killers. Just as an example.

We may never know. They've proven time and time again that being mysterious just makes your community distrust you. That's why a lot of people don't think BHVR understands their own game because they make changes and decisions without giving explanations or responding to feedback.

Random thing: I think it'd be cool if we had community ambassadors that communicate with the devs regularly on what the community is concerned about so we can get some actual answers without having to throw together a ton of QnAs.

They used to be a bit more open about what they planned do and people still complained, like with the Early Game Warmup for example.

It's very much a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario for them and they chose don't, that way people don't get their hopes up for something that might never come or get upset that they had planned a certain bugfix by this patch but a problem came up and now it got postponed till next.

I also wish they we're a little more transparent in their doings but I understand where they're coming from to a degree.

I have to say, while there are a good few reasons for the community to be irate at the moment, I can't disagree with this. Mention anything that is being worked on and it's taken, ran with and has developed at least 5 conspiracy theory threads detailing how this particular thing makes it clear that the devs are killer/survivor sided, or how this particular perk / power will ruin the game and by the 2nd day there are at least two threads telling us that [insert whatever the devs mention here] is going to kill the game.

Don't get me wrong, part of me would like to see a little more transparency, but on the other hand, why keep sticking out your hand for the 5000th time when it got savaged the other 4999 times?

I mean they can just tell us what killers they're looking at, explain what parts they're looking at and then follow it up saying the changes may or may not make it to a PTB. From there they can take the rational criticism from their feedback page here on the forums. Obviously a lot of the community are toxic af, but I dont find it an excuse. And I'd rather them be upfront and honest.
