My Little Frustration About Deathslinger

Now, this is just my personal little opinion, you're free to have your own.

My frustration isn't with the recent nerf. Although, the increase in his terror radius is a bit annoying. It's not with how hard he is. He has a gun, guns are hard to use when basically all other options are melee weapons. No, my frustration is with the status effect he applies, Deep Wounds.

In all the hours I've spent playing Deathslinger, I have never once actually applied Deep Wounds and then actually had it pay off. So, I believe it's somewhat valid when I angrily say, "DEEP WOUNDS DOES NOTHING!" Good survivors never stand still and almost always heal each other when possible. This is even more so when they know about Deep Wounds. Meaning, it gets countered by just playing the game normally.

The main reason that this is so frustrating to me is the fact that Deep Wounds is a part of his kit. It is something that you can't just swap out for something else. It's not frustrating just from the fact that Deep Wounds is so useless. It's frustrating because it's so useless and it's a permanent part of Deathslinger's loadout. To put it simply, a major part as to why Deathslinger is unique does next to nothing. Playing Deathslinger to me is like packing a lunch with the intention to eat it all, but then only eating half of it and having to throw the rest of it away. But every match.

If they ever buff Deathslinger, first thing I feel like they need to do is either

a) rework Deep Wounds in some useful way (one possible way being to remove the requirement for the survivor to stand still [of course while also making the timer longer than 20 seconds])

or b) swap it out with basically anything else, because Deep Wounds is one of the worst status effects that a killer can apply to a survivor.

Phew, been needing to get that out somehow. It's been bothering me essentially the entire time I have been playing this game.

Deep wounds is there for wasting time. If you ever drop a chase with a survivor after applying deep wound you are getting value from it

It is faaar from the worst status effect. Hemorage excist remember. And deep wounds is straight up better then mangled.

It's honestly one of the stronger ones. Mostly cause status effects just aren't that impactfull outside of exposed, hindered and maybe oblivious
