Boon totems self-cleansing

Sometimes when trying to auto-heal with Circle Of Healing, the boon totem is instantly cleansed.

I've found that the owner of the perk can freely bless another totem while the old blessing still stands. In doing so, the old boon totem is automatically snuffed. Maybe that's what happened?
