Direct question for the devs
Did you ban people who use stretched resolution? I did a report a week ago regarding a streamer who was using it (this violation fall under the exploit category: Exploit bugs, errors in design, or undocumented features to gain access to what otherwise would not be available or to obtain a competitive advantage) with both screenshots (he admitted to use it) and video of the match, but he's still streaming like nothing happened...

I'm quite convinced on the contrary, since as I said it's stated in their game rules that obtain unfair advantages through stuff that isn't even supposed to be in the game is considered an exploit, therefore bannable, but aside this I'm tired in general about this topic being "unclear" if you know what I mean and i want a definitive answer once and for all from the devs

I agree stretched res is an unfair advantage/crutch, however we are talking about a game which has “famous hackers” who get flashlight blinds from underneath the map, hundreds of reports, plenty of video evidence, but they don't seem to get banned.

It's not bannable and not considered as cheating while it gives advantages. Same goes to brightness adjustments and other similar things.

By that reasoning they should be banning for using filters, sound cards, the voice chats built into every Xbox or PlayStation, etc. as well, even if they could detect any of it.
It isn't practical nor enforceable.

EAC does absolutely nothing. The fact we need to send VIDEO EVIDENCE of hackers to get them banned proves this statement of "the EAC might prevent you from logging in" is a total lie.

Again, the EAC they have on this game doesn't even ban people for obvious hacking (things like flying around or throwing hatchets as Ghostface). Do you seriously believe someone has ever been kicked out for stretched?

It's not bannable because they do not modify the game files. It's up to Behaviour to address the differences of FOV regarding the screen resolution

Otz did a whole video countering this statement. Ghostface can be revealed with stretched resolutions.

This alone should be sufficient to classify stretched res as cheating imo...

It is cheating no matter how people try to slice it. The devs just don’t care and it would be difficult to enforce. Even using filters is technically cheating. Anything which gives an unintended advantage.
