With Maiden of the Black Water coming out, how about a Fatal Frame chapter concept?

Some more details:

Possession:

  • Survivors with Possession Level 2 can see the Sacrifice with no distortions out to 32 meters, though she appears distorted beyond that. Survivors with Possession Level 3 can see The Sacrifice without distortion at all distances.
  • As Survivors become Possessed, the color drains from their perspective. This equates to 33% desaturation at Level 1, 66% at Level 2, and 100% at Level 3. The Sacrifice and her red stain will still appear fully saturated at all levels.

Sacrificial Altars:

  • The auras of Sacrificial Altars can be seen by the Sacrifice and Survivors who are at Possession level 2 or 3.
  • Performing the Ritual action takes 10 seconds. After successfully performing the Ritual, the Survivor will lose one health state if Healthy, or be afflicted with the Deep Wound status effect if Injured. Afterwards, the Survivor will lose all levels of Possession, and cannot gain any Possession for 45 seconds.
  • If the Ritual action is interrupted for any reason, the Survivor will Scream and gain a moderate amount of Possession.

Ghosts:

  • The Sacrifice can see the auras of all Ghosts currently on the map.

The Camera Obscura:

  • Survivors can see the aura of the Camera when within 32 meters of it. The Camera emits a faint static-like sound until picked up.
  • The Camera works like a flashlight with infinite charges. It has a cooldown of 30 seconds after destroying a Ghost and 45 seconds after stunning The Sacrifice.
  • When used on The Sacrifice, it blinds and stuns her for 3 seconds. Lightborn doesn't protect against the Camera Obscura.
  • A Survivor who successfully uses the Camera Obscura on the Sacrifice becomes the Obsession.

Scourge Hook: Cutting Ritual:

  • Survivors who are currently afflicted by this perk are covered with cut marks all over their body to serve as a visual warning to other Survivors.

Hex: Sacrificial Guardians:

  • Crimson Butterflies can only be seen by Survivors while interacting with a totem.

Paranormal Investigator:

  • The sound-enhancing component of this perk works on the following objects:
    • Alarm Clocks
    • The Camera Obscura
    • Ghosts
    • Glyphs
    • Hex Totems
    • Jigsaw Boxes
    • The Lament Configuration
    • Pools of Devotion
    • Portals (only activated ones)
    • Zombies
  • The aura-reading component of this perk activates with the following objects:
    • Alarm Clocks
    • Bear Traps (only armed ones)
    • Cages of Atonement
    • Dream Pallets/Snares
    • Ghosts
    • Hex Totems
    • Jigsaw Boxes
    • Pools of Devotion (only corrupt ones)
    • Portals (only activated ones)
    • Phantasm Traps
    • Scourge Hooks
    • Supply Cases
    • Zombies

I enjoy the Fatal Frame series.

How many ghosts total can there be?

The Stone Mirror i imagine only 5 times possible? Since only 5 totems AND presuming only 1 survivor has that perk.

Glad to meet a fellow fan!

There's no limit to how many Ghosts can be on the map. However, Ghosts don't respawn like Zombies do. Once they get hit by the Camera, they're gone for good.

You've got the Stone Mirror right; the Survivor team could potentially make a maximum of 5 over the course of a game.
