1st Match = Potatoes, 2nd Match = SEAL Team 6
How is there still so much variation in the skill of survivors, and killer for that matter, from one match to the next? Isn't SBMM supposed to keep you with players of similar skill?
I understand moving up or down if you have a win/lose streak going, but to still have such drastic differences from one match to the next is crazy, frustrating, and takes a lot of fun out of the game.
If queues need to be a little longer for more even matches I'd be fine with that.

A system based on escapes/kills will never accurately measure skill. The devs said so themselves the first time they tried the system, and scrapped it.
It's not trying to place you with players who're at or around your skill level. It's trying to keep your win/loss at 50/50.

It's failing miserably. I feel like I have a win/loss rate of 10/90.

I bet you that they don't even have anything on a per Killer basis... even though Killers can't change within pre-game lobbies anymore

I have studied this for a while now and have the definitive answer

This feels too accurate to be anything other than the truth.

It's always luck of the draw. My first survivor game today was really good, and everyone was very cooperative with each other. That helped most of us escape the match. The next 3-4 matches for me were solo survivors looking out for themselves, avoiding each other and self-caring in corners
Just guess how many of those matches we won

Swf and high caliber can still be paired down to minimize que. Seems killers have the pleasure of pairing up but not down based on sbmm.

Honestly I'm having a great time. For killer about every fourth game is ######### but the others are usually about where I'm at. It's nice honestly.
Just once in awhile I stare at a wall for 5-10 minutes. Better than the old system for me.
Survivor has gotten way easier though, I feel like I win 4 of 5 games overall. I used to win 1 or 2.

I have that. You have a great match and a 4K on 5 gens. Next game you can't get a kill and they are all out.
I play survivor and either it's an easy exit or we all get downed by Rambo on heat.
Just sometimes there is an even, sweaty game with both sides equal.
It's when you look at the end and you have red ranks matched with bronze. I know these are not counted, but they must stand for something, otherwise they would not have them. As I play and rank up I learn where the loops are, how to move survivors where I want. Then I go into a game and find a new player that walks aimlessly, then runs in a straight line without even thinking where I am. One hit they turn, only to run in another straight line. Then they do the same again when they get unhooked, standing around and because you don't just go in the opposite direction, you get called tunneller.
I've given up on some games, I just run from gen to gen and spread the love on different hooks. Only way I can get BP otherwise the game is over. Then next game I work hard all game for nothing.

Some rainbow six siege also plays this game.

If u write down your games results on paper u will find out your kill rate is still higher than 50-60%. While matchmaking confuses if u compare one or two games on overall u are on average of 2K or higher.
Problem is not in matchmaking but in killers itself and how they can handle chases.
Huntress can end chase in less than 10 sec, but someone like Trapper needs forever.

Happened to me yesterday with Demo but other way around.
First game after a while I got very skilled survivors and I barely managed to get 3 hooks somehow, completely destroyed.
Game after that I got 11hooks at 5 gens?????
This is SBMM experience they been talking about

Yeah, I had some weird games as Doctor where I struggled to get one hook, and the after that, I could have gotten his adept had I been wearing the proper perks.

Some survivors are just...you know, like me. A bit up in MMR because they got lucky all the time. I am by no means a good survivor. But sometimes you just meet the potatoe-squad 0.1 who tries to finish the first generator as 3 people while Bubba runs at them reving his chainsaw...
I honestly think that a part of this difference comes from people who usualy play in groups of three or four friends. Because of their communication their skills at the game are less impactful. However their MMR goes up. Then they play a few rounds solo and their missing skill shows. And now imagin that you do not have only 1 of these people but 2-3 in a lobby.

I have the same experience too. i was wondering if my MMR can change this much after a game.

Matches are you win most of the games and get one navy seal team.

I would guess that the old widening of match criteria is coming back when the distribution over MMR of players on both sides isn't right.

I thought posting leaked information was against the forum rules

Same for me. It starts to be painful to be against baby Killers but paired with baby Survivors as well.
I want to face/be paired with people who have similar skills as me. I don't want to loop a Killer for five generators because they don't know what to do, then being sacrificed because everyone's too busy to hide.

my experience is similar...there is no in between for me as killer...it's too difficult or way too easy - both are not fun at all. There is absolutely no in between for me when I play as killer which leads me to believe their formula for mmr is still broken and in need of a LOT of work. I have enough hours played so please no one tell me to play more of a game that is unfun :/
1 -
Well they did want the games to average out at 2 kills per game.. so.. first game, 4k. Second game, 0k. That becomes and average of 2k per game. Lol. That's the only thing I can think of other than just random chance

The problem isn't that I'm winning too much, it's that I'm losing too much. It puts me one round against baby killers/survivors and I steamroll, then it puts me against literally amazing players that I could never beat and are probably a swf. I know I'm not the best dbd player out there, probably just average, but c'mon. Seriously because of this I have trouble getting to higher grades, even though I play for hours and hours every single day, haven't once gotten to iri ranks since mmr came out. Since I'm only allowed to "win" or at least do well in 1 out of every 10 games I play.

Yeah mine fluctuates drastically. I get half decent nurse and blights and then a few baby trappers in between. My killer games are good atm, really good balance between the opposition, games are close contests which is what we all want.
