Chapter Idea: Broken Bonds
Here's a random chapter I came up with out of boredom.
CHAPTER NAME: Broken bonds
SURVIVOR
Name: Blanche Brooks
Difficulty: Intermediate
PERKS
Level 30: Headstrong - You've learned how to get out of dire situations. After unhooking or healing a survivor for a full health state, you gain a token, up to maximum of 4. When in the killer's terror radius, a token is consumed and your scratch marks and pools of blood are hidden for 6/7/8 seconds.
Level 35: Until The End - You know how to lift other's spirits and inspire them to do better. After the last generator is completed the perk activates. All survivors within 25 meters of you gain a 15% increase in healing, recovery, sabotaging, and unhooking speed for the next 80/90/100 seconds.
Level 40: Thrill Seeker - Escaping danger fuels your determination. Every time you escape a chase the perk activates. Press the Active Ability button to gain a Haste effect of 7% for 20/25/30 seconds. Thrill Seeker has a cooldown of 40 seconds after use.
Backstory: Blanche Brooks grew up in a small town. She had a happy childhood and her parents worked hard, trying their best to take care of their daughter. She eventually moved away to attend a University to attend acting classes. She started to feel stuck in her day-to-day routine and to get away from her boring life, she decided to start a web series that she titled "Stories Of The Lost" where she would go explore abandoned locations and tell the stories behind them.
One night she was doing research for one of her projects when she had gotten a message from one of her friends who told her about an abandoned estate on the outskirts of town. Intrigued, Blanche researched the estate and found out it was owned by the renowned Frey family who had went missing years ago. The property had been abandoned for years.
Blanche decided that it would make an interesting story and got into her car, driving to the outskirts of town. It took time, but she eventually found the estate that sat eerily in the night. Parking into the empty driveway, she got out of her car and looked at the front of the home. The outside of the house looked decrepit and the windows were covered in a visible layer of dust.
Walking to the front door and opening it she gazed into the dark home, turning on her portable flashlight. Deciding to look upstairs first, she walked up the rickety wooden stairs and entered a hallway. She went into a random room and shined the flashlight around, catching a glimpse of something laying on the ground. Crouching down to closer inspect it she noticed it was a detailed drawing of a spider, it's eyes seemingly reflecting off the page.
A sudden noise sounded, sending Blanche into a shock, making her stand up and shine the flashlight around frantically. She saw a shadow walking towards her, reaching a hand out towards her. She gasped before bolting out of the room and started to go down the stairs. Her foot fell through one of the stairs, making her lose her balance and fall. As she landed at the bottom of the stairs, she got up and headed towards the door. She opened the door and stepped outside. She was somewhere completely different. Somewhere she wasn't familiar with.
KILLER
Name: The Sorceress (Simone Frey)
Difficulty: Intermediate
PERKS
Level 30: At The Top - Each time you hook a survivor, gain 1 token up to a maximum number of 4. Each token increases generator regression speed by 3%. When you kick a generator, all tokens are consumed.
Level 35: Hex: Fear Bringer - When a generator is completed, all survivors within 25 meters of the completed generator will suffer from the Exposed status effect for 40/50/60 seconds.
Level 40: Sharp Eye - You quickly become aware of change. When you damage a generator the perk activates for the next 35/40/45 seconds. If a survivor touches the damaged generator during this time, they will receive a difficult skill check and their Aura will be revealed to you for 9 seconds.
Backstory: Simone Frey was raised in the desolate estate that her parents had owned. She was quiet and kept to herself and often found herself to be alone. She spent her time going to the estate's greenhouse and sketching highly detailed drawings of the plants there. She felt connected with nature, finding herself at peace and tranquility when she would sit in the greenhouse.
She eventually gained a scholarship and left the estate to join her sister Adelaide at a local college to pursue her dreams of becoming an artist. There she would visit a nearby lake to gather inspiration for her next work of art. The cool evening breeze and the bright green trees gave her a sense of calm, her hand drawing the details onto a blank piece of notebook paper.
Then came the day of her 20th birthday where she got the worst news of her life. Her parents had died in a car accident and Adelaide was inherited the estate. Adelaide left the college the next day, leaving Simone by herself. Simone felt a sense of loss and despair.
A few weeks later, Simone had started to receive letters from Adelaide. They wrote back and forth to each other, always keeping in touch. Simone would always leave little drawings on the letters she wrote, hoping that it would make her sister happier.
Then the letters suddenly stopped. A month had passed and there was no new letters from her sister. Simone felt worried, like something was wrong. The next day she frantically drove to the estate with worry. She noticed her sister's car was still parked in the driveway. She knocked on the door, but there was no answer. She noticed that the door was unlocked and slowly opened it, stepping inside the dark and empty home. She looked everywhere but to no avail, there was no sign of anybody. She drove back to the college with tears forming in her eyes. She couldn't bear the fact that her sister is gone.
She kept skipping her classes and was later told that her scholarship was terminated. She had to pack up her things and leave the dorms. She angrily packed her things and drove off to the estate. The only fragment of home she had left. As time went on her grief turned to anger, her drawings became less peaceful and more disturbing. Flowers turning shriveled and wilted. A forest turning into a decaying wasteland. A lake turning into a dark abyss.
One night she couldn't sleep. She sat up in her bed, looking out the window at the night sky. She grabbed her notebook and headed outside getting into her car, driving to the lake. She sat down on the ground and started to draw a flower. But as she drew more and more details, she felt herself be engulfed by cold fog. As she finished the drawing and inspected it, she realized it was a flower she had never seen before. It had veiny leaves and was oozing some sort of strange substance. She placed her notebook down and realized that she was somewhere completely different. A dark, empty place.
KILLER POWER
Special Attack - The Swarm: The Killer can send a swarm of flies towards a survivor. When a survivor is caught in The Swarm:
- Their vision will be impaired and the survivor will suffer from reduced movement speed (-15%).
- The Swarm duration lasts for 5 seconds.
The Swarm has a cooldown of 2 seconds after use.
Vine Traps: The killer can set up to 10 vine traps around the map. When a survivor is caught in a Vine Trap:
- They suffer from the Poisoned effect
- They suffer from a 5% hindered status effect. This effect lasts for 5 seconds after escaping a Vine Trap
Survivors can attempt to destroy Vine Traps. When destroying a Vine Trap, a loud noise notification will sound and survivors suffer from the Oblivious Status Effect for as long as they are destroying the traps. Vine Traps take 15 seconds to destroy.
Poisoned Meter: A survivor's Poisoned Meter increases each time they are caught in a Vine Trap. Once the meter is filled, they are put into the Injured State and suffer from the Broken Status Effect.
Flowers: Survivors can cure themselves the Poisoned Effect by searching a Flower for Curing Nectar. Survivors can find up to 4 Flowers around the map. It takes 9 seconds to search a Flower. After a Survivor searches a Flower, the Flower shrivels up and becomes unusable and they are briefly revealed by Killer Instinct. Searched Flowers take 160 seconds to respawn.
