Why isn't wraith considered powerful?

As a killer I tend to ignore him. My reason is dumb, he has chicken legs and his lore makes no sense at all. He was tricked into disposing bodies and now he can turn invisible?

Anyways, when I survive (And I do both evenly. I generally make iridescent on both), I find the Wraith to be absolutely oppressive and more often than not see him net a 4k.

He's super fast stealthed, max speed when not, and his add ons are all pretty good. His speed boost post invis almost always means he nets a hit after unloak, moreso when he plays the addon to speed up uncloak. (Having a terror radius while invis means nothing at all when he goes from the edge of the radius to on you in 1 second.)

Yea, he's at heart an M1, but sometimes thats all you need when you can zoom the whole map as fast as blight without giving yourself away. I guess I'm not really complaining about him, he just seems super strong and I can't tell if he's really not, or when killers handwaive about how "bad wraith is", its just a way to deflect or sound like an pro-gamer or something because its cool to talk about how he's not top 3 meta.

He is has surprise on his side, but experienced survivors can still loop him to death as he has no chase potential. He'll clean up at lower levels like any killer in the right hands. If he could attack whilst cloaked then he'd be right up there 😅

He used to be underrated but now people overrate him quite a bit, especially people who don't like his lunge. Mobility doesn't matter if the killer doesn't have a strong chasing tool, and Wraith's lunge is only really good on medium/small loops. He still gets looped to death on shack and jungle gyms.

People who talk bad about Wraith compare him with Nurse and strongest possible survivors. And compared to Nurse, Wraith can be easily countered and outplayed. Also don't forget about steamers followers who never question their favorite streamer.

Wraith overall is OK if u master him but his downsides compared to Nurse are much stronger and he struggles against well coordinated team.

Wraith can be good and has decent add ons but if he gets bad map and survivors are good, then he can sweat his ass for maybe 2k if hes lucky.

His chase is bad, his mobility is meh and his overall map pressure sucks due to Hit n Run being ineffective against teams and gets neutered by Medkits and other healing perks, Boon: CoH being extra painful for Wraith

He is easy to loop making him bad at high ranks. He might tunnel one survivor out but against good survivor he gets 1 kill and no more. Just watch Trutalent against that elite team in one game he did not even get one hook 😄

Up until the lunge change Tru3ta1ent was still saying Wraith is underrated and is a good killer simply by virtue of his increased map mobility due to his speed. He didn't like the decrease in the lunge distance though so I think he's down on Wraith a bit now.

Wraith has to uncloak and in that time it's possible for survivors to simply be in a position you can't lunge hit at. Ultimately there's only so much a Wraith can do against survivors who know how to take advantage of uncloaking and are aware of their surroundings.

Wraith has so many good addons in his arsenal and he is definitely a strong killer. He just doesn't compete well in sweaty games.

Because his power can easily be removed by a single flashlight. He is an F tier killer.

I think he still thinks people think Wraith is weaker than he is because a lot of people put Wraith in a low tier. Tru3 thinks Wraith is good but a bit below the top tier killers like Blight and Nurse. Good enough to get hooks and win but struggles against top tier survivors like most killers.

I think Wraith is good. I usually do well with him. I can think of worse killers than Wraith.

Warith isn't considered powerful because he's mid-grade and has a fully counterable power. Not much more to it.

Wraith is an M1 killer with a potentially massively delayed first hit if the survivors know what they are doing.

Also his pallet blocking while it can give him hits its also is a massive risk as he gets a doubled stun duration penalty if he's stunned while stealthed.

Also a lot of recent perks hard counter him:

Flashbangs can just flatout both blind AND stun him mid chase while potentially instantly win a chase for the survivor.

Boon: Circle of Healing hard counters his hit and run playstyle. This removes one of his main strengths and is a fairly common perk atm.

He currently only has his mobility keeping him from being clown tier of bad.

Wraith was a wee bit OP for survivors who don't know how to run/counter him. As such, he was nerfed.

The nerf doesn't weaken him vs said survivors, but it does hurt vs people who never had an issue with him.

He is still decent overall but struggles with good survivors and can be run all over the map. A good strategy is to get everyone injured and then go for downs, but medkits and the new circle of healing perk counter it.

    I see, I see.

It just seems that the survivors I play with are always at the very least, wounded by the wraith. Like, it just happens with little counterplay. I suppose like Legion, his problem isn't the first hit, it's downing the survivor and hooking without wasting too much time.

    Thanks for the info!

Wraith's strength lies in getting hits against survivors not paying enough attention.

This means he's bad. If he's incapable of beating opponents who are trying, he's bad.

well, that's not true, wraith is considered strong,...no, even better....behaviour stated that "he was op" that's why they nerfed him...

He was never powerful. He could have been, with a buff or two, but he got nerfed outta nowhere. I don't know what MMR y'all are playing where you're getting 4k's against the survivors every time, but it can't be very high. Keep playing, you'll see. Being invisible and fast is not enough to be a good killer, especially when his nerfed lunge is basically a net loss of distance on the survivors from how much he slows down on uncloak. He's got nothing. Survivors have complete control in chase.
