PC/PS5 - Disconnected from host while playing survivor
Having issues randomly disconnecting during matches. The message that I keep getting is "disconnected from host" mid match and then it shows the normal endgame screen.
After returning to main menu I still have my item (if i brought one) WITH ATTACHMENTS
It has become a major problem because of matchmaking ban and the -1 pip penalty.
Its completely random. Character, perks, level does not matter. I have disconnected on every level and a variety of characters.
My most recent DC happened while opening the gate (no heartbeat, no chase, full hp) and the gate was at 97%. No reason to disconnect at all. This resulted in a 72 hour ban.
The ban that I received before that for 48 hours happened while vaulting through a window. (no chase, full hp, no hooks, no reason to disconnect). This was my 2nd 48 hour ban.
I have also encountered the error while being put on hook, downed, and healing another survivor, crouching in bushes, ya know, JUST PLAYING THE GAME NORMALLY.
Since the release of Hour of the Witch I have been banned for over 200 hours because of this issue.
This actually started happening after the release of Hour of the Witch. Same day. Also, the same day I sent in my first support ticket
The matchmaking ban was removed during the first week of HoTW and was reinstated the next week but the I was and STILL AM - having random DC issues. That did not exist beforehand.
The week after Hour of the Witch launched the matchmaking bans began again. I've sent in multiple tickets about the issue but only received the "wE hAvEnT fOrgOt AbOuT YoU" response.
As of writing this, no response.
I purchased Dead by Daylight on PS5 (while using a completely different internet connection) and ran into the same ERROR as on PC FIRST MATCH and was BANNED for 5 minutes. This not one of those "just your connection things" I have also confirmed the issue with multiple people in the Dead By Daylight Discord group.

Hi, I did experience this too often enough to have a earned a 30 minutes ban now. Sometimes it goes together with a very laggy/jittery game (server issues ?), sometimes just as with you it happens somewhere mid-game ouf of the blue, "gracefully" returning you to the lobby.
Technically (depending on the underlying architecture) it's not impossible to return someone even to the same session within a certain period of time (IF it is a intermittent network issue) and to distinguish between network issues and a deliberate rage quit - many other online team-based games show this clearly or at least handle this reasonably
It seems to be a lame excuse to always blame it on the player's network setup and ban players for an increasing amount of time, ultimately resulting in a permanent ban.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this issue as well, but you are not alone. Hopefully we can finally get a fix for this soon!
UPDATE 11/8/2021 74 Hours after my first 72 hour ban. I played a few matches and suddenly this happened (video below). This host disconnect did not result in a ban. But this is an example of the randomness of the disconnects and how it literally happens out of nowhere.
After this happened I should've taken it as a bad omen and just stop playing. Two generators in on my next match mid chase ( full hp, no reason to dc) I disconnect again. This time the game force closed and I couldn't capture it via shadow play. When I restarted the game I HAD ANOTHER 72 HOUR BAN.
I've missed soo much of the event because this. This is crap.
