Is there any way to prevent yourself from facing a certain killer?
I love Dead By Daylight a lot, but unfortunately, for whatever reason, facing the Doctor triggers my anxiety and makes me have a panic attack. I have to leave the match, and I feel horrible for my teammates and, ultimately, the Killer, because I can't help my anxiety. Is there any way at all to keep me from facing the Doctor so I don't have to ruin the game for other players?

Just take a deep breath, and find a locker. Run calm spirit every single game, and switch to low res when you find out its a doctor. Makes it a bit easier. However, if you have really bad anxiety problems, maybe DBD isn't a game you should play. If I'm gonna be 100% secular about it do some reflection, because you probably have some past trauma related to this. Anyway, hope you can be healed of it instead of being victimized by it. good luck

Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure if this would work for me. I'll give it a shot, but it's the madness/insanity mechanic that triggers my anxiety. And you're right in that there is underlying trauma, but it's trauma I've been working on overcoming for ten years now with little success. No other killer in the game triggers my anxiety, so just quitting one of my favorite games because of one character just seems... harsh. Thank you for your help, though.
Also, after posting this, my next three subsequent matches were against the Doctor. I had to disconnect every time.

Sorry to hear you haven't found a way out of it. I won't keep prying, so best wishes.

Normally I'm the kind of person to edge you on, make you question your boundaries. But it seems like you're past that. Stop playing DBD if the anxiety stresses you out that much, at the very least stop playing DBD under the guise of "fun" (and not exposure therapy). I wish you the best though, whatever your decision.
