Dead by Daylight Still Didn't Make Back It's Player Base Since August
I also was never aware of any boycott, but if we are going to talk about statistics. Let's look at the whole picture and not just the sudden increase of players during a free playtime event, in Halloween, for a horror game.
Honestly the cult followers are really just grabbing at any short straw they can at this point. All the "negative players" want is the game to get better and be more successful, which is something we all should want.

Behaviour didnt make back its player base ? Maybe because they never left π

20% of the player base is a significant amount. In the industry that is alarming.

If they want to make it back, they should amp it up and correct the numerous flaws the game has had since memory can recount. Just look at Propnight, that looks much more fun than DbD has ever been, and it's only just a beta, atm. If they, hopefully, decide to release it on console as well, I'm all in to bid DbD farewell.

There's 40,000 players on Steam currently in-game. That's... average. Completely normal.
You want to look at charts? Look at how many players there was exactly one year ago.
Wow, almost identical to how it is now. It's almost like the game isn't losing players, contrary to what you say.
How about two years ago?
Again, about average. It's even more popular now than it was then.
There's a difference to a game becoming less popular, and a game coming down from a sudden and massive surge in popularity (which tends to happen during big content drops. The game's largest player count of all time was this June with the release of the Resident Evil chapter).
I don't see the point in this post. Steam probably has a much smaller playerbase compared to PlayStation and Xbox anyway, so the point is moot.

I don't know. This is usually the case whenever a game gets a massive hype train going on and in this case the Resident evil chapter and looking at the graph of the player count seems it stayed in its natural 50K average.
Anyway DBD is a game that only lives because of new chapters as long as they keep pumping those the game would be breathing and there is already a new chapter getting teased.

I'm not seeing whatever you wanted us to see with the Steam chart. These numbers look fine.

20% in your dreams, the game is in its golden age since Silent Hill chapter. Ive never seen so much player in dbd before. And it still grow by time.
With Halloween mid chapter dbd hit his second best number of players connected at the same time on steam.
The game is very fine π

The game is very fine π
In terms of popularity yes.

In addition to comments above explaining there was a surge after Resident Evil then a return to the mean, Itβs also ironic that on the chart posted in the original post he highest average and peak player numbers are over the last 30 days.

So a lot of new players joined for resident evil, played for about a month ishhh and didnt stay in the game?
The number of players has been increasing over time, the game is not dying, its only getting bigger.
These numbers only show the growth of the pc version not consoles so cant imagine how big the game is getting.

Why would we go back a whole year? Another problem with the cult fanbase, they will dig as far as they want to justify their point.
Yes the game had great growth in the past. I played this game more in the past. That much is obvious. That much everyone and their dog understands. The point of the matter is the game is less fun now than it was before, and you can see that with the amount of players decreasing slowly overtime, and the game only staying afloat by events and chapter releases.
As said before. We all want this game to keep growing, and be successful. No one is out to get you, but you're only hurting the game ignoring the clear issues, and that's what BHVR want's you to do because then they don't have to put the money into fixing it.

I'm not sure what the point is. Are you arguing this game is losing players over time? Because you say we shouldn't just look at sudden increases of player count during events and what not, yet the particularly high number of players in July was because of the Resident Eviil chapter. The hype then wore off and the game lost some players again, and since then seems to be at a steady 50k average player count, which is actually higher than the average player count before that.
The average player count of DBD in february and march was actually at 35K, and then increased a lot up to July, where it had above 60K players on steam. After that it then settled at 50K. So DBD is actually doing even better than a year ago. Your small snippet of the steam charts doesn't hold enough information.
In fact, the steady average player count of 50K is the highest the game has ever had, if you scroll down and look back, you'll see that the player count of DBD has simply grown more and more over the years.
So if people are arguing that the game is doing well, and they think that DBD is a good game, (which is THEIR opinion), then that doesn't mean that they are cult followers, and they surely aren't grabbing at any short straw they can.
The only thing in the future that I would think could cause DBD to actually lose players is VHS.

You don't need to dismiss anyone as a cult follower just because they give you a counter argument. What a cheap tactic.
You seem to be desperately trying to make it look like this game is bad and is starting to die off, which it isn't. Of course you should look at the player count from one year ago as well, if it shows that the game has actually gained a lot of players within the last year.

I know where this game is headed. I was there for Deathgarden. It's funny how well history repeats itself, because this is happening exactly like it did for Dathgarden. The Killers are all going to leave. They are going to milk the game for the last of it's money dry, and then move on to another project.
The reason why it didn't get stopped? Because of the cult following that wouldn't allow necessary buffs come to the hunter role. The diminishing player base is proof that it's already begun.

What diminishing playerbase? The only significant reduction shown in the steam charts is the one from July to August, because the Resident Evil chapter released and lost it's novelty.
I am not going to argue that this game is balanced perfectly, both killers and survivors have quite the frustrations they sometimes have to deal with. And I wouldn't be surprised if the game did start losing players once VHS is out. But at the moment, the game is not doing badly and isn't showing any signs of it dying soon.
You just seem butthurt that this game isn't balanced like you want it to be, and then dismiss anyone as "cult followers" that has different opinions than you. What on earth?

Does Facebook ever remind you of a post you made that was straight cringe?
that's what this dude did when he necro'd my thread. I don't even know if I advocating the game was losing players or doing fine in November, but I certainly understand it's losing players now, and made threads about that since this thread lol

Steam Chrts are an indication but to really see you need the console numbers which you donΒ΄t have.
If there are 100k+ on consoles this would be still very high overall.
I only hope they improve the game before it really loses big.

"pretty good job so far"

And if they let their Steam playerbase fall just because they are doing fine from bringing in crossplay then they would be going back on their promise that they made not to forget about where they started.
Though It's clear that they see the numbers and are trying to do things about it now. Look at this slew of Killer buffs, and a whole survivor sided map rework into a Killer sided map. We have the DMS PR combo that hasn't been touched since it was found, but COH and Boiled Over have taken their fair share of changes, and promises of changes to come to Dead Hard.
MMR reworked which appears to favor Killers better, or at least not run them out as quickly as before.
I am sure there are more changes to come, just hopefully they know when to pull the plug before the next problem is the survivor playerbase jumping ship.
