How would you change the Trickster?
This can be anything: a rework, buffs, nerfs, visual changes, leaving him the way he is, or even going as far as suggesting to delete him.

Remove the 30 second window he has to use Main Event. It just ends up going to waste more than half the time and feels really bad.
Also, remove the spread and recoil on his knives. Or at least give console players more options so that it's not so dreadful trying to aim with them.

Honestly I’d mainly focus on making him a 4v1 threat and less oppressive in 1v1.
Buff: Laceration meter doesn’t passively go down and survivors have to complete skill check actions to remove the knives. This will cut gen time but it can be risky to keep the knives in to spend time on gens.
Nerf: It takes 8 knives again to damage. 6 is too little and makes his 1v1 way too oppressive.
Buff: You can use Main Event whenever you want after it activates.
I don’t think he’d be more fun to face but he’ll certainly be stronger while not being as bad to face before. I would like the risk factor of leaving knives in you as it creates map pressure.

I agree with OP. Delete him (I know Devs won’t do this) or completely rework his power.
His power is a weird one, a buff would make him completely counter less and a nerf will make him really weak. There is no in between.

Rework Memento Blades.
Blood-rusted knives, worn from overuse.
Employed during Ji-Woon's early murders, they hold a place of importance in his heart.
- Grants 100 % Bonus Bloodpoints for Showstopper Score Events.
- Considerably increases each Survivor's Laceration Meter capacity. (+2 charges)
- Increases Blade Carrying capacity by 26.
- Considerably increases Laceration Meter Decay delay. (+10 Seconds)
- Considerably increases the throw rate after throwing 8 knives. (1.25 to 1.333)
I may or may not really like how old Trickster worked (with the main event changes because that needed help). I'd like to be able to play him again.

Well I didn't exactly suggest to delete Trickster, was just saying you could suggest to delete him as changing him. I personally wouldn't delete him.

I do like that idea a lot. That way if he hits a survivor with a few knives and decides to leave chase it isn't a complete waste and can make him more of a threat from longer distances. Better 4v1 and less oppressive 1v1 is healthier for the game IMO.

complete rework. as it stands there isnt really a way to really make him fun to go against while also keeping his strength.
plus, i dont really think we need this many ranged killers anyway tbh.

Give his throwing knives 1 ricochet bounce as base kit.
Set him back to requiring 8 blades to injure/down if direct hits, and 6 if hits from ricochets.
Change his Trick knives add-on by buffing it to increases damage 50% after ricocheting 1 time, and 100% after ricocheting 2.
Change the "Main event" mechanic to give him 10 knives, all have up to 3 ricochets, and can insta down if a survivor is struck after 2-3 bounces.
Survivors have to do a "remove knives" animation with 1 second per knife stuck in them if they want to get rid of their laceration meter.
The guy is called the "Trickster" and while basic knife throwing skills are technically a trick, you'd think that ricochet knives would be a much better spectacle that would make him and his showmanship very unique. Having ricochet knives as base kit is a no brainer, and Using trick shots by default should be encouraged and rewarded.

i spam trickster a lot and this is what i want.
every gen is rigged with a mp3 player that blasts loud music when the gen is being repaired drowning out the terror radius and increasing the range at which you could hear the gen being worked on.
This would address the problem of a 4.4 killer blindly going through a map easier, because you could check gens from a further range and the survivors couldn't hear you coming catching them out of position.
Addressing the oppressive nature of a chase while simultaneously addressing momentum problems. My proposition is to give trickster even less knives then he has right now maybe like idk 30? maybe even less? Force him to use addons to increase capacity. And recoup the knives from a downed survivor on pickup, and have main event be like a free burst of throwing out knives that builds up really frequently and refund some knives in the process.
The goal would be to get away from opening lockers as much as possible, and if you are doing very well with hitting knives you could keep rolling and try to snowball, but if you miss one too many you would have to reload on the locker. Right now regardless if your aim is on point or not, you will want to reload after every down regardless and that's a huge issue.And you are a slow killer that wastes time to reload that adds nothing to gameplay other then losing map pressure just by default(its essentially like a tax). However on the survivor side when you come at a survivor with 20 kitchen worth of knives the survivors chances of outlasting it is just unrealistic... I have been in a situation where im getting looped around a rock and miss soooo many knives and i still get a knife down because the total amount of knives you carry is just overwhelming for a single chase.
Main event - eh i feel they made a design and they have to fit it in. And its unique right? like an ultimate weapon. Like i said prior make it more frequent make it more like a charged up attack kinda ordeal. "I charged up my secret weapon here is a quick sixteen and i refunded some knives" type of thing .
Overall i just want survivors to have a better chance of evading if the Trickster is not doing very well, but i also want Some of the 4.4 killer issues not be as present as they are. His perk synergy is just godawful he literally has no perk that fits him well and that probably exacerbate the entire issue but ehhh.
I think the fundamental game(maps/pressure/4.4/perk synergy) just doesn't really suit him super well so he will either be too strong or too weak, but hopefully both sides can enjoy him atleast.

maybe you'd have to rip the knives out and staunch the wounds (ripping them out carefully being the skill checks)? Throwing knives, when thrown by someone with the skill to throw them, can get buried deep into wooden targets.
maybe there'd be a timer to do this before bleeding out and entering the downed state(so basically, deep wound, but actually capable of downing people).
BTW, I do like trickster in his current state, but there's always room for improvement with these things.

What I meant was take away the laceration decay. Why do the knives just dissolve on their own?

Maybe able to fire areas to make survs get injured when they pass by it and knife lunge power.

My personal change:

- Blades need to be pulled out by the Survivor manually in order to reduce Laceration (1.25 seconds per blade).
- Main Event can now be held as long as the Trickster wants but the Survivors get an audio notification when it's ready (similar to Oni).
- Blades will now ricochet from the environment once.
- Increased his carrying capacity of Blades back to 60.
Those things would actually give him basekit slowdown, make his Main Event be more versatile and give him a fun tool to play with (ricochet).

- Blades needed to injure/down Survivors increased back to 8.
Because it's now harder to get rid of Laceration, the Trickster will now need to hit more knives.
Add-on Changes:
Trick Pouch: Increased capactiy back to 10.
Bloody Boa: Increased capacity back to 15.
On Target Single: Increases time to remove blades by 0.25 seconds per blade.
Ripper Brace: Increases time to remove blades by 0.5 seconds per blade.
Trick Blades: Reduced the Add-on's ricochet effect to 1.
Iridescent Photocard: If a Survivor's Laceration is 1 blade away from reaching the maximum, they suffer from the Exposed Status Effect.

Maybe change Main Event, because it's same as his M2 and not really in better way. Give him another thing to it (or passive or buff M2)
Depend on what he gets, change his movespeed (110% = strong power otherwise 115%)
I guess DbD want to keep is main power "Throwing Knifes" so how can we change it ? To me, I'll up his movespeed on M2 (faster than huntress while holding M2) + I'll not move his aim when hold M2 (left to right atm) maybe descrease his total of knifes BUT knifes will be stuck in survivor when hit (need to me remove by them) to have an oppornity to down a survivor later in the trial.
In a loop with walls it's useless atm to try to M2 survivors with those change Trickers should be able to do something on it, and on short loop with no wall it will be a pain so more knifes to deals damages (keep in mind knifes need to remove or it will stack) maybe 10 knifes to deal 1 damage. And if this is too much, we can add extra like if 6knifes hits on a same survivor (and the survivor dont remove it) it will be have some penalty or a secondary power.
I don't say this is better or not, this is just an idea. I would like a different playstyle to him and not just like a Huntress.

In his current design, give him a few types of shot with the blades. Maybe he can throw many at once in a fan arc and throw some a bit like a boomerang, as well as the current machine gun style of attack to make him more diverse.
As a rework, not entirely sure, but since he experiments with sound and is called the Trickster, then have sound-manipulation as a power, such as misdirecting which side he is approaching or altering sounds so that you may hear an injured survivor running towards you, when it's actually his terror radius. Some offensive power too - maybe a soundwave attack that knocks people on their arses or something?

Been playing Trickster for some days, the problem with him isnt exactly himself but the maps, you get a low wall map or open and you destroy, you get a high wall or indoor map and you get destroyed.
If maps had roughly 50% of low walls and high walls maybe he could be a better Killer, with current map style discrepancy its impossible to balance him in any way, you make him stronger he becomes godly on places like Autohaven or Shelter Woods, you nerf him he becomes a 4 escape at 5 minutes on places like Yamaoka State or Crotus Penn.

How , bubba able to spam a easy down chain saw and easily end a match before it begins best tunneling/face camper, plague killing your astrium category for healing yourself and team? spirit with her dead self and boring zig zags ?

I prefer a rework but if they can't then:
- REMOVE THE RECOIL
- Make Main Event last a lot longer. Maybe 80 sec.
- Make it so you can voluntary throw knives during Main Event.
- Have 50 knives basekit or Increase the knives count on his addons.
- Change his terror radius and chase music.

Plague has a lot of counterplay around when to cleanse and dodging puke. Bubba has a lot of counterplay around windows and baiting him to saw. Spirit has less but gives options and is punished for missing

I highly doubt he will get a full power rework, as the closest thing we every got to a killer getting a rework was freedy. But if he ever did, his power should be something related to a form of trickery.

Plague is no counter play cause she spams a passive no mither on you, you cleanse too early its bad, you cleanse too late its bad, she infects everything including windows/pallets/lockers so you cant even use lockers, coughing gives you away so she know where you are all the time people then gets afraid to do rescue saves or gens because of being infection. Spirit with her twister zig zag and insane speed, bubba that even if you get to a window else when your in a big area with no close pallets or anything to save you, its a down. Not to mention their scrummy face camping/tunneling ways even though I stay away from basements all the time.
Trickster cant do none of these things that these 3 can do. He has counter play. Both plague and bubba should have still get that movement slow down if they using their M2 cause removing it really was a stupid thing or least they need their MS reduced to 110% heck even lower, Trickster lacks mobility and can barely catch up to people. Else like bubba and plague they better remove that speed limit he gets when using his M2

I've been playing him quite a bit and really enjoying him so not much actually.
Remove the recoil so he isn't completly impossible on console but that's about it

It's almost needed because you can't decrease laceration while in chase because you have to do it manually in my version.
6 knives with manual laceration decay would be a bit to much.

Why though? Old Trickster had to hit 8 times and had 60 knives. It makes just sense to increase it while also increasing laceration.

Nerf him down immediately, had a game barely start & someone went down in not even a minute. When it was my turn I can see why, absolutely no cooldown between his throw, if anything it's like he's gotten faster & it was already bad enough when then lowered the hit requirements from 8 to 6. Unless it used to be 10, I'm not sure anymore but the point is he needs a nerf as soon as possible.
