BHVR is seriously failing as a company right now
BHVR why have you not made a PSA regarding the doxing issue on your twitter account or in-game? This is a serious issue and should be your number one priority right now. People who stream your game are at risk of being doxed and even swatted. In fact, it has already happened.
If your playerbase is "of the highest importance" to you, then why have you not said anything?
Is it really that hard to tweet something about it? No, it isn't. Because you sure as hell have time to post silly things like this on a daily basis.
Saying nothing directly to your playerbase shows that you are utterly incompetent as a company. And no, speaking to Eurogamer only when spoken to does not count as letting the community know what is going on.
- How are your players going to know that they should report this if you haven't let them know what is happening?
- If you know it is an issue and are "investigating the situation", then why haven't you said anything about it?
- Your security measures are not lacking, they are completely nonexistent at this point.
What the hell is taking so long? Just say something.

They're rocking on the binding of Kin anniversary
13 -
They might not take proper action until it's too late when the government or who ever starts hitting them hard with law suits.
15 -
They’re going to have to do something about it eventually. It’s going to get ugly for them if they don’t.
5 -
They are a small, poor indie company and can't afford to fix this.
8 -
It genuinely feels like they're trying to kill DBD. It's like they're seeing how much will players put up with before they finally walk away.
14 -
I dont know if its sarcasm but they are not a small or a indie compagnie anymore. They have the rescourse and income to fix this they just dont do it because they prefer to take our money over fixing the game because they have the monopole of the genre for now

this is horrible.

It is sarcasm

Did that too. But with shards.

I'm literally just waiting for someone to take that Nancy/Steve meme and caption it to have:
Steve = Game Health and Security
Nancy = Behaviour
Jonathan = New Cosmetics
I would, but I'm really lazy tonight.

BHVR has been failing for quite a while.
As long as DBD remains on their hands, the game will be doomed.

This is a serious danger too. I cannot handle this company anymore I stg

Sometimes I get this feeling too.
It's everytime something happens when they go complete radio silent before they're legally required to take some action. And in the meantime they're looking how far they can go with the players.
But don't worry! Here are some BP's for 2 P3 level 50 bloodwebs to make up for it.

Fun thing about taking official stances on exploits: it publicizes them.
Now I'm not sure if the radio silence is to wait till they have a fix, or if they are incompetent, but at the moment staying radio silence is best for reducing interest in hacking the game. Making a big deal out of it might give people a sense of being heard, but it might also act as a catalyst for some people to play around with this new "aspect" of the game.

Idk how it'd really make the vulnerability easier to exploit if they made a statement going "Hey so people have been getting DDOSed, we kinda goofed there, please contact support if it happens to you and we'll attempt to get the player banned and compensate you."
1 -
Easier? No. More well-known? Sure. Gotta get on the bandwagon eh? Kick 'em while they're down. Not to mention an opportunity. I'm not sure if you can actually sell information gained from this kinda stuff, but why not try?

For DBD's own sake, it needs someone else behind it.

You say that like it isn't all over Twitter and has been on the Forums quite a bit as well. I admit that not all players use these sites but telling people to stay cautious so they're less likely to be caught unaware, with slightly more cases, is better than the same number of cases (which is still high) but the majority of the playerbase don't know about it, and can easily be DDOSed, doxxed, or swatted
2 -
It would warn more people of the potential danger. There are still 50k people playing on steam alone despite this insane security issue.
And more than 90% of the player base aren't on these forums or see the Eurogamer article and I haven't seen any other news from other online gaming magazines.

The worst thing about this game is its toxicity. And BHVR does nothing about it. For example, in FORZA HORIZON 5 the company forces you to be in solidarity with other players by giving the option to give away cars, and congratulations. I do not understand why BHVR does not put hands on the matter and encourages good actions

What I find most outrageous right now, is that there is not a single bit of info on their official website around the current DDOS issues. That is some serious neglect right there. Your customers should be made aware of the dangers they face when they play the game right now. I had to hear this from 3rd party sources and streamers... ######### BHVR? I know you are incompetent at managing this game, but this... this is a whole new level of incompetent and criminal. A simple pop up ingame, like the update news, that would state a warning would suffice to keep your customers up-to-date. But I guess that is too much work.
I'm done with this game. Call me when these devs get a minimum amount of integrity. Untill then, anything with the BHVR name slapped ontop of it, will not receive money from me.

I suppose, like with the NFT's the playerbase has certainly already let the cat out of the bag, and if there wasn't a push to fix that security flaw before, there hopefully is now. At the very least a public disclosure will get people to think more about internet security. Though IMO the vast majority of DBD's playerbase has likely already been doxxed, hell I got DDoS'ed through a Ps4 connection shortly after the release of the Resident Evil Chapter by a player named Dr. Disconnect. This isn't a new thing. It's just that the majority of the early-adopters of people capable of doing that didn't really have much incentive to abuse it, all they needed was the validation that they could do it. But the more wide-spread it becomes, the more low-effort and petty trolls are likely to abuse it purely for teh lulz.

It's actually incredible how strong of a "how do you do fellow gamers" vibe that Twitter account gives, Jesus.
2 -
Still nothing :\
1 -
They don't work in the weekend, even when the game is burning.
But I doubt we get an announcement tomorrow.
4 -
As long as players and streamers keep playing/streaming DBD I doubt we'll get any announcement.
3 -
In other news, "Hacker Girl" Feng cosmetic set has been announced to celebrate the vulnerability in the game, for the low low price of 400 shards.
4 -
They still haven't said anything. It has been 2 days already.

"There is no doxing issue going on. But while you are here make sure to purchase the stranger things DLC before it goes away!" - BHVR
1 -
Damn, that's crazy. . . But don't forget, this is your last chance you buy the Stranger Things DLC before it leaves the store.
