Rage Quitters

Hello all,
I've clocked in a huge amount of time on Dead by Daylight, and amongst all the things I dislike as a killer main (who also plays survivor a lot) i've come across a hell of a lot of people leaving, especially in the PTB.

My idea to punish individuals who leave before they have died would be to deduct bloodpoints from their account. I feel as though this would really give players that clear message to at least try and complete the game and avoid making things harder for the others. If not bloodpoints, then perhaps shards considering their value in the upcoming update.

What are your thoughts on this?

Basically yes, but then what happens when they are at 0 BP, negative BP?
Also holding the game hostage would hurt even more, making it more attractive for the toxic idiots out there

If they're at 0BP then they stay there, since they won't be able to develop neither killer or survivor until they start playing properly.

I've always been curious as to what 'holding the game hostage' means, could you clarify for me?

the gates are open and the survivors won't leave.  they insist you come look at them before they go so they can show you their epic celebration of requiring a microphone to escape.  very common on ps4.  why not go look at them?  after a half hour of tour de force defeat replete with toxic humimiations, the last thing i am interested in is such a show.  that isn't always the case though, sometimes they are simply doing god knows what and refusing to leave.  these maps...are pretty big.  the last thing i want to do is look for someone.  the game is over.  ah but it isn't until little johnny says it is.

also, what precisely is happening before the survivor rage quits?  that's an interesting question, eh?  just a normal every day camp/tunnel session?  sorry, i will often move on myself and not look back.  unless my fellow randoms are doing gens, which 80% of the time, they aren't.  they are oddly content to bury their face in a cubbyhole.  nah  i'm good.  getting progressively angrier via trolling isn't my idea of a good time.

Pretty much all survivors have "developed" their survivor to P3 already and wouldnt care about BP, just spend your BP after every game and you lose nothing by DCing

It means that you are effectively stopping the other player from leaving the game.
This can be done by exploits or bodyblocking, e.g. you can deadhard into places where the killer cant reach you anymore and has to DC if he wants to end the game. Another example are dropping spots where the survivor can stand below the drop spot and force the killer to float above him, making him unable to do anything.
The killer can bodyblock a survivor in a corner such that he cant escape or bodyblock even several survivors int he basement

Even if the killer hard camped or tunneled you to death, those are legit strategies and do not justify a DC which is bannable

looks like a whole slew of us is getting banned then.

yeah, i want to sit there and watch short bus dude repeatedly hitting me.  not gonna happen.  then, have some numbskull come up and unhook me on front of the killer without borrowed time.  i guess some people force themselves to endure (or secretly love) such things.

Yeah, no lmao. Sorry but the devs confirmed camping is a viable strategy, the same way SWFs will stack around a hook to stop the killer. In regards to tunnelling, that's the survivor's fault for unhooking you with the killer nearby. Someone made a good example, if a survivor discovers a generator at 0%, and a generator at 90%, which generator does the survivor go for?

You make a good point, so perhaps taking away iridescent shards (Which in the long run are more valuable than BP) would be more effective.
