slugging at 5 gens
killers who slug all 4 survivors at 5 gens, even 4 or 3. why? just curious....even if the opportunity presents itself, is that even fun?

Yeah, its excessive. Just like face camping at 5 gens. Its pathetic honestly.
I've slugged at 5 gens before but I only do that if I feel bad for somebody, like old killer sided pallets
5 -
Because it’s an effective tactic? You do gens fast at the start so why can’t killers slug when it’s necessary?
55 -
i guess im the only one in the entire community that actually likes to play the game even if it means im losing....why queue up for such a quick game? if youre doing that well as killer let them reset so you can actually...idk play?

Every blight in a nutshell.
6 -
If y'all get 4 slugged at 5 gens y'all either had to play extremely bad, multiple times or the killer is just significantly better than all of you. That should not be happening.
In other words y'all needed to have your mmr lowered. The killer probably thought the same thing.
32 -
Sounds like to me the killer put you all out of your misery. Survivors should not be in that situation at 5 gens. You did something wrong for sure and instead of looking at what that was....easier to blame the killer.
Don't worry most do.

It sometimes happens. For example, I'm running Plague, get a red vommy pool right away, down a survivor, another survivor procs IF and I down them, proccing another IF and suddenly all 4 are slugged.
When this happens, I'll usually do one of two things. I'll either hook 2-3 people then pick the last one up and let them break free to unhook (if I'm having a good day and you haven't BMed me, or sent me to Haddonfield/Badham) or I'll just hook everyone and end the game (you BMed me, you brought nasty map offerings etc.).
That said:
There is a world of difference between the two.
Facecamping is something both deliberate and self-penalizing to do. You'll lose tons of BP if you do this and often lose the game against a savvy team. I'll only do it when I care more about killing you than I do about BP/winning. If you flicky flicky macro me or teabag, I'm going full villain.
Slugging however can happen just by the flow of the game/misplays by survivors. Chain reaction Infectious Fright for example - once you see someone scream, *get away from them*.
If it's early game, I don't know whether you are a sweaty group or a fun group yet. If I deliberately avoid slugging, I could be handing you a stomp. I'll probably give you a chance to recover though.
1 -
Sounds like you did big mistake and were punished for it with slugging.
You want killer to not take opportunity of it and go easy on you?
Talk about entitlement
16 -
That's a survivor mistakes If it happens before gens pop. Bad individual plays and poor application of altruism. A match can end in 4min, killers have no reason to allow a snowball to happen in your favor.
4 -
it isn't necessary at 4 or 5 gens. go back under the bridge, troll
0 -
I don’t find it fun to slug everyone but sometimes survivors aren’t careful.
However, I am not going out of my way to slug. Meaning down someone and leave them on the ground for no reason. That is just boring to me.
0 -
Pffft...a lot of people arguing how 4 slug happens at 5 gens.
You'd be surprised how often that happens on low mmr hell, especially against Blights, nurses (even not experienced ones) and campers/tunnels... And considering people tend to help each other (if they're not scared), it's Just a matter of one bad decision from a single surv to everyone dying.
0 -
If that was true, then why are you complaining about getting slugged at 4-5 gens?
Killers can play to win and Survivors can play to win. Neither is necessary fun for the opponents to face. The killer shouldn't be forced to play in a less optimal way just because it upsets you.
Killers can slug survivors at any point if they want to. It doesn't matter if it's necessary.
11 -
Why not if survivor can bodyblock and flashlight save when 2 or 3 gen are done and the killer have no hook i cant see why the killer should not slug or camp at 5 gen.
7 -
It depends. Are you all running at me because I downed someone under a pallet or because you all have flashlights?
Yes? I'm probably going to slug then. It doesn't matter how many generators are left.
Outside of that, I don't typically go out of my way to slug early game for no reason, but if I know someone else is nearby and I can get a hit I'm not going to pass up free pressure.
4 -
I mean... Is it fun to lose 3 gens after the first hook? No it isn't.
12 -
Sorry didn’t know I had to let you get 4 gens before doing anything decisive
12 -
If that actually happened to you, then that means you guys messed up big time lol
8 -
It's scummy, but it is what it is.
1 -
It doesn't matter how/if/when/why a killer kill you, that's literally one of the only major things they get to decide in a game.
Survivors have so many flexible perks to handle many different types of situations.
If you don't like being subjected to a certain type of play-style, build around it.
Sometimes you can't eliminate your problem play-style entirely (Basement Bubba or a good tunneling killer), but you can reduce their effectiveness and frequency through your builds and actions.
---
I'm also very curious how you even get full slugged at 5 gens.
The only way I can see that being possible is if your team is hovering around each other non-stop and refusing to do objectives, thereby allowing that situation to happen in the first place.
If that's the case, that ain't a killer problem.
Chances are slugging you fully was efficient in the above scenario. Heck they might have even felt suffocated because of all of you hovering around them, in which case slugging can be fun, yes.
6 -
It's a pretty easy thing to do with Nurse and a slugging build.
0 -
Yeah, true.
A good Nurse can do it with more ease than most, especially with Infectious Fright - she's definitely an exception.
Even then though, a decent split up can reduce its effectiveness.
If you find you're facing a lot of them to the point it's an issue, builds can help with it too (Calm Spirit, CoH, DH, etc).
---
But at that point if you have a dedicated Nurse with a slug build, the answer to the original question is:
Yes, they probably do find it fun. Probably makes them feel stronger than playing typical killers/styles.

Players that headshot enemies at the start of the round in COD? Why? Just curious... Even if the opportunity presents itself, is that even fun?
That's how you sound. Don't start the round off in COD running out in the open.
4 -
If they got everyone you can move on to the next game easily.
When the knockout, sloppy or whatever slug drags for ages that is unfun but still people are free to do it.
0 -
Typically if I see a survivor, then I'm going to hit the survivor. If everyone goes down then everyone goes down. Game is more than likely not over anyways.
0 -
As killer, you never know when you're going to need to being it all to keep up the pressure, and sometimes you overshoot because your opponents aren't seal team teabag for once.
Or maybe you're expecting multiple Unbreakables or Soul Guards or just tge last survivor coming along and picking everyone up, so you slug for the added pressure early on, you don't know if you'll be able to get later.
If I realise I'm overpowering the team early enough in the game I'll probably hold back a bit, but sometimes you don't realise until it's too late and you get to a point where you either hook everyone or you fold and intentionally let someone struggle free, which could be patronising.

A killer should use any opportunity to snowball when they have the chance. Does it really matter how many gens were done, other than to indicate how poorly the survivors played?
Why should the killer give you the opportunity to reset and recollect yourselves? You don't see survivors slow down, give multiple hook stages when a killer has 1 to 3 hooks and a single gen left?
There is no guarantee that you will be presented with an opportunity again further down the match. People always claim that killers must consider the side of survivors, but the opposite is never achieved. Feel free and play the friendly killer style, see for yourself.

I've had that happen in a game before, main issue was people were running up to help up the person who is slugged even while they've been hurt while the killer is lurking for the "bait".
It also really sucks when you have no communication between the 4 of you. I do TEN times better in a game as a survivor when I have a full crew in a party than by myself, even having only 2 other people in a party with me is leaving one rando to jeopardize the entire game. Communication is def key when playing, which is something a killer does not get at all. It's the greatest buff survivors have.
I can be slugged and be like, "killer is lurking.. work on gens!." "okay he's headed your direction (survivor 1), (survivor 3) come pick me up!"
Like having that much power is huge and can almost always guarantee a win if you have a great crew. Also makes the game a lot of fun. And having communication can piss off the killer, so we can communicate and it pisses them off just as easily as they piss you off.
I run into a lot of face camping killers and me and my crew just sacrifice one person for them to face camp while others work on gens. It's sometimes fast enough that my friend with borrowed time can still come get me off the hook. It sucks for gaining blood points I agree. Especially when the killer doesn't care about blood points and just wants to be a dick cause he can. But I've also ran into some really cool killers that made the game fun. Even sometimes they won't down me right away and we will just play tag.
It can get frustrating especially if you play alone, and the killer downs everyone in an instant and you only get like 5k BP for the round and here he is sitting at 30k. I've recently played against a killer who immediatly ran after everyone. He'd hook someone and then go straight for others who were far away and healing. Hell I was on the edge of the map away from all gens, self healing and after he hooked someone immediatly targeted me. "Oh he had BBQ or Nurses calling, blah blah blah."... no dude was running one lvl 1 perk with hillbilly which was tinkerer and managed to find us all the time without even really looking. People who play this game just to make a quick match and be a crappy killer is just a crappy person who probably doesn't get invited to anyone's parties cause he likes to ruin the fun. XD
Honestly tho, lurking a hooked/downed survivor is the best advantage we get. Cause we will go around the map and just do gens, open chests, demolish totems etc. Then we will 99% both gates then one will finish a Gen and they will try to save me. If it doesn't go to plan and one gets downed we just get out of there at that point. Let the killer feel good about himself for having one sacrificed cause he sucks at playing.
Another reason to facecamp or lurk downed survivors understandable. I been killer and some survivors can be just as dickish as the killer can be. They'll try to stop you from hooking by standing in front of you, constantly shine a flashlight everytime you pick up a survivor, loop you, tea bag you. I only tea bag is when I'm at the exit gate and killer was facecamping the entire game instead of playing it. We will wait for him to come to the gate and all three of us will just teabag just due to him being the reason we had to have a quick match instead of letting us earn those points and reach our challenges of hooked survivors and healing.
Hell I've played a game alone and seen these three survivors teabag the killer at pallets and gens and just screwed with him during the game instead of working on gens and I just helped the killer find them all and hook them, then him and I helped eachother earn blood points and he let me go XD I felt bad for him honeslty, the lack of respect for the killer is brutal and deserves death.
Sometimes it's best to assume if the killer is being a dick is probably because he's already dealt with a few matches with dick survivors and deserves to have a win. We've all been there.

Lets take this logic and apply this for the other side as well:
"Oh can you guys not do gens for like 1 min or something? I just want to chase you and you know... Play the game?!"
That would be nice. Not gona happen tho.
11 -
Takes too long to pick up and hook people tbh. I almost always slug if I know where another survivor is after downing someone.
3 -
Three yalls in one post. Interesting stuff.
1 -
Killers must obey survivor rules (no slugging, “camping”, “tunneling”, etc) but survivors can play however they want
1 -
I'm from the south, it's pretty normal around here.
3 -
Actually, it can. Who knows if you get another opportunity to win again? A killer not choosing to pursue a slug at 5 gens should be treated as magnanimous, not as something all killers must do. If you have a problem with it, use a second chance anti-slug build to carry you through your mistakes.
2 -
Why? Because it was a headon squad on the swamp.
0 -
If your team gets all slugged at all gens it means you are full potatoes. Don't really want to waste my time with matches like this, better to get it over and try to find an actual challenging team.
3 -
I agree it's boring and unnecessary. I understand slugging at the end for the 4k but not early.
1 -
So survivors can rush their objective z no objections. But it's a sin for the killer to do the same?
6 -
Yes, it's fun to win the game. Do survivors not try their hardest to win?
5 -
that's what a bad killer says
0 -
That lunge into the DH seems to be why they changed the hit validation lol.

Effective tactic to get 10K bp as killer yes. I think it's stupid if I have chanses as killer I aim always to get 100K bp if I have cake or other bonus offerings. So I don't want game to end in first 5 minites.
0 -
Why not?
3 -
Necroposting lol
7 -
Guys this corpse is six months old. Let it rest in peace.

I slug so I don't have to hear survivors mouth in the end game chat thinking they're gods because I decided to have a chill game as wraith or another low tier killer, I could still get a 2k 12 hooking everyone only to get told to "get dunked on loser" by a Claudette with less than 10,000 points who hid the whole game and got hatch or did nothing, so instead I decide to make the survivors play glow worm simulator with a better killer so I don't have to hear a damn thing in the endgame except the crickets outside my window.
0 -
Because when I let Survivors get back up, they think they had skill, and blast me in end game chat with 'ggez' and 'uninstall'.
I will play as sweaty as I can until Survivors learn to stop being little snots in end game chat. 🤷♂️ Why should I go easy on them, only to have them treat me like dirt?
4 -
Why would someone bring a six month post back from the dead to complain about slugging? 🙄
1 -
I consider myself to be in mid MMR- maybe even low-mid MMR, but I RARELY get slugged. Yet I see threads pop up often about slugging. Is this a HIGH MMR issue?? Can someone confirm? Me getting slugged is so rare that I have to find a new build for Bill (anti-slug build) because whenever I play with him, I get no value. It literally feels like I’m playing with no perks.
Or is this a region thing if it’s not in high MMR?? I play on NA servers…

Nurse. Midwich offering.
That's how I've been 4 man slugged til bleed-out recently.
