Anyone else really excited for the new Scourge Hook perk?

It feels like my build will finally be complete. Currently on blight I have been running Pop/Corrupt, BBQ, Lethal Pursuer and Shadowborn, and it will be great to get a regressing and passive slowdown that can't be cucked by crap totem spawns. Pop just requires too much wasted time, and corrupt is already too similar to lethal pursuer.

I rarely hook people nowadays so not really. But I might try artist if she is good and try it on her as well.

Didn't play a "normal" killer game for weeks.

    Me.

With 4.4 killers that perk is potentially better than Pop because you can pop a gen without having to travel to that gen, the drawbacks are not always a Scourge Hook near you and 10% less reduction than PGTW, but I think it still compensate due de amount of time you spend travelling to a gen which is unbearable sometimes with slow killers, specially in huge maps like Mother Dwelling. Also the perk aumatically pop the gen with most progression and you don't have to look for it which also cost you a lot of time and you don't always know which is that gen.

If they increase the number of hooks or make it apply to the basement as well, then yes, other wise not really.

I like the idea of being able to do a Scourge Hook build with two or three or four Scourge Hook perks, it sounds like fun. 🙂 So far there’s only two of course but hopefully we’ll get more. (I’d love to see Monstrous Shrine get a revamp where in addition to another effect it makes all basement hooks act as Scourge Hooks for related perks.)

I mean RNG exists so I'm not excited for the new hook perk

But If I do get it I'll try it out

Also I don't get as many hooks as some players do so... here's to hoping for 4

Honestly I'd rather BHVR buff Dying Light rather then give us perks like this

Plus why just 4 hooks... why not all of them (including basement)

    Something's got to give here

Yes I'm quite excited for it. Especially since Agitation is kind of my pet perk. Scourge hooks and Agi just work really nice together.

As long as you are able to hook on a Scourge Hook every time you would have the same amount of uses as Pop, but it will always be on the generator that needs to be reduced the most so I think the 10% difference could be worth it.

    I will definitely try it.

I've kinda moved away from using pop lately the more I realized how often you don't get to use it/it can take more time to use it than it's worth. For the most part I only really run it on wraith nowdays.

Corrupted Hooks only pair well with Agi-Grasp, or at least Agitation. The Hooks aren’t always close to where you downed survivors. Plus once they realize you have them they’ll avoid being downed in those areas. Putrid Oaks help a lot. You always have to take the time to hook players there, and use regular hooks for the death hook. I’m certain that they don’t respawn. So being able to quickly carry survivors to where you need to be is the strongest power imo, and using the new hook powers benefits from this the most.

It's gonna be an alternate to Pop, but since it's still based on hooking people, it can't be too good.

I mean it'll be a good perk to have

Imagine Scourge Hook (I don't remember the name), Dying Light, Thana and what other you want

Nope only because of rng imagine your 4 hook are in each corner of the map and you down most of the survivor in the middle just like that you have a dead perk

I am. I might even use it on my Huntress because I don't like POP and Ruin is just a waste of a perk slot honestly, at least when I play killer

Kinda. The thing about scourge hooks is that 4 isn't enough and they don't always spawn at the same point. It is also especially useless on swamp. However it is a perk that I think I'll like as it encourages good gameplay and you get a good reward out of it unlike boons.

Yup, pretty good regression perk that will have a huge synergy with Pop, used either on the same generator either on two separate generators.

However, it is sad that killers are relying on perks to prevent gen rush, which is, to my mind, a design flaw...

So as a killer you are pretty much forced to use 3 slow down perks : Corrupt, Pop and Scourge, leaving one slot for an original perk... breaking the combination of other perks such as Starstruck + Distressing...

i usually limit myself to 1 gen protection perk and usually get 2/3ks. As long as you play smart and the survivors aren't very high MMR, youd should do well. And there really isn't much of a reason to not run them since very few other perks aren't worthless sadly

  • JohnWeak

Yes if you stay at an average+ MMR it is okay but fact is it is sad that you cannot play at a high MMR without using boring mechanics.

I mean, you can't really get to high MMR without tunneling or using the best perks UNLESS you are a god at the game. If you want games where you can chill, just chill until the games come to you imo

I'm definitely excited for it although I'm probably going to be cruel with it and run pop/eruption on freddy alongside it.

Unfortuntely if u have 4 scourge hook perks you will keep having 4 scourge hooks instead all map.

Could pair reasonably well with Agitation and Starstruck too.

And the other Scourge Hook perk fits in well

    Has anyone tried that yet???

Honestly, I don't care. I've stopped using any gen slowdown perk because almost all matches I have little to zero value from them. I've been getting much more value from chase perks.

To clarify, I was saying Monstrous Shrine could treat the basement hooks as additional Scourge Hooks, above and beyond the four created normally by those perks.

    scourge hook: pain

  • Mat_Sella

I was using the other Scourge hook perk and found it kind of lacking so this should be far better for me on Trapper with my Agitation.

If they just made basement hooks count as Scourge hooks too, these perks would be far more viable in the game.

Well i will use it along with Pop, instead of Ruin and Undying now on my Killer's i play often; Twins, Executioner and Plague. Will be nice to same decent semi regression instead of having hexes for 2 minutes or so. When Artist eventually comes out i will try to main her, i love the crow theme, the ability and overall look and feel.
