Anybody else have a non-meta killer they always 4k with? (not intended for bragging)

I mean absolutely stomping the survivors.

For me, It's Twins. I 4k so often that Twins are a safe "I need a win" killer, but I otherwise don't play them too often since I don't want to jack up my MMR/bully survivors.

for the record, I'm fully aware how this could come across as bragging, but that's not my intention.

by non-meta, I mean A tier or lower.

To tag along his comment. Legion is the only “C or D TiEr!!!!1!!” Killer that’s capable of consistent 4ks imo. Thana, dying light, surge, corrupt/noed/bbq for ez wins. Not because I’m better, but because after 5-6 hooks survivors tend to just give up because they don’t want to spend 120 seconds on a generator.

Demo. I save him for when I'm right pissed tbh.

Corrupt, ruin, agitation STBFL with leprose lichen+unknown egg and Ebony Mori.

Immediately portal Ruin and set up a web. Drag downed survivors to my web. Have at least 2 portals near hook/basement, and just portal 2 feet away to see who is going for the save and who is working the gennies.

If nobody is coming for the unhook, I'll punish them hard for that by pressuring gens+totem. Then I'll use my game sense to portal back to the hook and use STBFL to cause massive damage.

The funny thing about my build is that survivors dont know about my secret weapon: THE EGG! Normally a worthless addon, but this bad boi makes it LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE to cleanse my portals if they stealth me and let me portal away. You cant cleanse it fast enough.

This portal pressure creates a deadly side objective that CANNOT be ignored, much like Party Hats, Lament Configuration and Plaything. Combine that with my constant aura reads, it's a steady barrage of pressure.

People are so used to the Scott Demo who is a great chase killer that they dont know how to play against a scratch mirror Hag Demo.

I do very well with Fred, trickster (not at start though) last trial I played with him I got 13k because that's how fast they were all dead, Pig I my main boo. used to have Ghosty in this list but I don't have the right perks on him right now to get consistent wins.

I am not saying I win every game with these killers cause no one wins every game in MMR but I like my chances going into the trial.

Strangely enough, Ghostface. He's quite lethal when played well. Had a 4k at 5 gens on Haddonfield yesterday

Is Spirit considered meta anymore considering barely anyone plays her anymore and says she’s dead?

Hillbilly and Clown, I say I 3k/4k nine out of ten games.

Wraith and Doctor work oddly well for me. Lately Oni has also been oddly successful.

I haven't done this yet but I want to try it out but dried cherry blossom seem stupid. If what people say and what it looks like its made spirit actually mindless to play.

Doctor with the “I want them to hear me coming” build does pretty well for me.

    • Distressing - larger terror radius which increases radius of Static Blast as well

    plus three out of

    • Overwhelming Presence - equipment lasts half as long in radius
    • Unnerving Presence - skill checks have less than half the normal width
    • Coulrophobia - healing takes twice as long in terror radius
    • Overcharge - when kicking a gen causes a very hard skill check. The width of it is also reduced to less than half normal by Unnerving Presence so it’s about the size of making a Great skill check. (Doable but easy to slip up and miss.)
    • I don’t have it unlocked on Doctor but Starstruck is also possible here

Kind of a gimmicky build but it’s nice having that tracking range extended.

I also have been doing well recently with Pig for some reason. Not sure why exactly, but I’ll take it! 😄

I am confused. Some of you say how killer is at disadvantage in other threads and here you say you 4k every game.

    Wut?

For me its doctor. Being able to deny pallets and just being able to know where everyone is - he's amazing!

I have no idea why more people dont play/main him...

Is Hag considered "meta" or "top tier"

    I 4K'd at 5 Gens this morning

With: STBFL, Corrupt, BBQ, Whispers- Yellow addons (One that speeds up setting traps and teleporting from father away)

Also Pig with: Oppression, Surveillance, Corrupt, Whispers- Combat Straps and Last Will

I think it would be harder today, I barely play legion but last week I tried her and by the time I finished injuring the 4th survivor with my power 2 of them were already healed, was very demoralizing and I put her in the shelf again.

Those times ended. Legion is.. not viable right now, i don't think anyone could do big 4k streak with him.

A-tier killers are not really weak in pubs.

For me, I can comfortably go with Oni, Bubba, Triangle Head.

Legion needs something spicy tbh. Thana, dying light, Ruin etc. Just doesnt cut it if you ask me.

I dont play them as much these days, but I consistently 3 or 4k with Lethal, BBQ, Agitation Starstruck. Ditch the slowdowns unless it's called No Way Out.

I mean I do surprisingly well with Ghostface, and often 3-4k with him. I can never streak much with him though.

But that probably has something to do with the fact that I play Ghostface almost entirely with his expose mechanic (no normal hits nor hit and run strats) with Play With Your Food. So I'm often running behind people who are 99% stalk without hitting them, or am repeatedly running 16m away from my obsession to cancel chase and get PWYF stacks. I also never commit to any actual chases that require more than 1 hit, amd sometimes crouch spam when waiting for my power to come up.

Occasionally people tend to think you're a friendly Ghostface when you're running around not hitting anyone, and especially crouch spamming, and respond with similar silly gestures.

At that point, if they weren't rude in a game, I often feel too bad to kill anyone and just turn into friendly Ghostface, letting everyone except my obsession escape. I'll typically rancor mori them outside the gate no matter what.

That would be Doctor for me. I can play him with basically whatever build and feel confident but then I don't tryhard for the 4k but always try to go for 12 hooks. I hate getting tunneled as survivor so I try to refrain from doing so myself while playing killer.

If I woud tryhard, I could probably 4k most matches with him.

I think many people have Hag unlocked for the teachables but don't sing up using the killer much.

Once a player figures out trap placement, playing defensively, giving up long chases, and applying traps in chase loops, it becomes very easy to snowball to a win.

Only the better teams will counter her properly, which is seldom.

I see the irony, but I think the biggest issue killers have is that games often feel dictated by survivor performance over killer performance.

In particular, it can feel and literally be impossible to win a match if the survivors play optimally, regardless of how the killer performed. This is most notable in depip squads and SWFs, but can occur in solo queue as well depending on everyone's cohesion and skill. In these types of games, regardless of how well the killer played, they can easily suffer a 4man escape and have little control over the game.

There's some exception to this of course, and that's mainly where the S-tier killers like Nurse and Blight come in. These killers are rated S tier solely because of their ability to impact those high-level games that most killers would be helpless in.

This is why most killers complain the game is survivor-sided.

    ---

Fortunately most of the DBD audience is casual, solo, and/or otherwise plays inefficiently and even like idiots.

This enables killers, who would otherwise be at an overwhelming disadvantage normally, to compete normally and even get regular high kill counts.

This is further how those complaining killers can still do well in threads like this despite believing the game is survivor-sided.

    ---

    As a side note:

That's where the whole "solo queue terror" comes into play, to reflect that people just aren't good or aren't willing to play good because they'd rather do what they want.

This is also where killer frustration comes in. Because even if they win, it's typically because they feel they were against inefficient or bad players rather than purely being because of their own skill with a killer.

And finally, that's what leads to balance debates around balancing for a casual audience vs high level play.

Though, personally, I do think their balance for casual play and their choice of becoming more of a party game instead of a competitive game is the correct choice. It definitely is working better as a method of attracting players and keeping content growth up.

I don't play Hag anymore because I always won with her. Just a slaughtering. Very easy to use. Just insta-port when a trap activates and make sure when you place them down, they're facing towards the loops so when they trigger them, they get pulled AWAY from the loops/windows. Trap the hook with 2 traps. 1 at the base and 1 about 5 meters away. Gives you a chance to whack then whack again before the unhook or guarantee 2 hits on someone if they crab-walk to unhook. She's pretty much unstoppable if you know where to place traps at.

(Edit: I also use STBFL with her so she recovers faster per hit and can teleport quicker and quicker until she's unstoppable.)

    They were never viable.

I can definitely do it again, it'd just require some luck and me suffering.

Deadlock, Corrupt, Pop and Thana with Stolen Sketchbook and the extra Mend time, Filthy Blade I think.
