Killers: Please play more Pinhead! :3
I can't even tell when was the last time I played againts him :(
He was popular when he came out (like any new killer) but then I just can't find him anymore.

I'm trying!

Nice! Thanks.

Probably NFT's (to no surprise)
15 -
I don't have him unlocked (as of right now)

Or it is because he lowkey sucks without bringing a specific build. If they made a Basement Bubba NFT, do you think people would magically stop playing Basement Bubba? Hell nah.

Ok so on launch:
- It is one of the most technically difficult powers to land in a chase.
- Even when you land the chain, it's rare that it ever actually does anything of value as it is so quickly removed, and you have to stand still to apply it.
- It is extremely easy for survivors to prevent a chain hunt from ever going off.
- Unless you play nothing but Pinhead and analyse box spawns etc, you're unlikely to ever find the box on the ground.
- Without running Hoarder + solve duration + faster chain hunt, you're unlikely ever to find the person with the box before the box is solved.
- He has a teleport which, by definition, dumps him at the point on the map where the survivor feels most safe to loop him.
After the midchapter patch:
- Any add ons that were worth using are now garbage.
- The time add on combination no longer works as all the add ons are gone, so you're never getting to the survivor before they solve the box, which they also have to do less frequently.
Remind me, what possible incentive is there to play Pinhead? High skill requirement for very, very little reward. A teleport that you never want to use because it always puts you in a bad position, and a global stalling threat which never actually activates. Honestly, you may as well just play Trapper without traps if you're that masochistic.

Im not buying NFT, sorry.
He also sucks on controller

Nice music?
Watching console players vault by accident because of the way buttons are mapped?
Being a killer that's quiet? xD

I just checked the PTB patch notes and I wonder if the add-ons that increase the solving box time stack or not. If they stack it still might be possible for that playstyle. Also that Iri. Feng (best add-on on him imo) is still super strong.

There's a lot of beginners playing him. Only found out because SBMM doesn't work at night. Queues are so long so the game just gives you baby killers.
0 -
3s if you stack both of them as opposed to 4s from one of them now. Upping the solve time from 6s to 9s.
On a killer with very, very low map mobility.
1 -
He's my main and I play him every day!
I'm doing my part!
3 -
This is my reason.
I really want his perks too, how sad.
2 -
Noone is playing probably due tot he NFT's and the people who do have him aren't playing him due to him being so bad
4 -
They're gutting him so might as well consider him removed from the game.
4 -
They nerfed him big time, and he's not really fun to play unless you like tormenting absolute newbies who either don't know one of them need to solve the box, or don't know they can pick up the box and run.
2 -
I feel like even map selection is trying to get me to not. One map that wasn't Lery's last time I played, and that's the one where one person insta-DC'd and another person suicided on hook.

Reasons why people are not playing Pinhead...
1) The NFT situation. 'Nuff said.
2) ..........He's just not that good of a killer. Engineer's Fang made him remotely respectable, but with its upcoming nerf, even thats being taken away. Pinhead is what happens when Clown and Huntress have a baby, but that baby has no interest in being lethal

I used to play him a lot when he first came out but it’s either survivors dcing when I run the hoarder / franklins combo. Or it’s a non stop box solving match with very little pressure with this killer. I have no intentions of playing him again in his current state.

Ok. I will play him when I feel like I want to get insults in chat like "you are sad", "you suck", "you are bad" or "clown". I enjoy to play new killers to get insults in chat. It's adorable.

His controlled chain needs to 1) start accelerating way slower to make it easier to hit, And/Or 2) take WAY longer to break out of the chains.
It's outrageous that something so difficult to control has such a minor impact on the game.
0 -
My favourite part is that it's an anti-loop power that can be broken by the time you walk round the loop. Or vault the loop. Or break the pallet. All are slower than the survivor breaking the chain and running away.
Or the bizarre "hit someone, go round pallet, they slow vault over it without even bothering to break the chains, and are still faster".
1 -
I like his play style and high skill requirement, but he's just flat out weak and unrewarding.
High risk/low reward and survivors having too much control of his power sums him up.
High skill requirement killers are good design but the payoff just isn't there. Also unless you're running the Franklins/Hoarders combo you will basically never see his chain hunt or have any map pressure, that's bad design. You shouldn't be required to run certain perks just to have the killer play properly.

I don't main any one killer, but Ceno's fun.
sure, I'll play a few games as ceno on your behalf today.

Especially two teachable perks, one of which is on a licensed killer (though Bubba having BBQ already effectively adds one DLC to the game's pricetag...) and the other is on the Twins of all people.
0 -
wait, I thought it was an anti-m1 power???
also, I think it should probably have a bigger hitbox at range.
also, the range increasing addons should have it take longer to break chains, so that they do stuff.

To be blunt, he's just not a very good killer unfortunately
I have him in my rotation just because I think he's a fun killer and I love me my pin cushion boi but he's got a passive power that is downright useless against SWFs with even the smallest amount of coordination and his normal power is downright useless in general (the chains are hard to hit on survivors as it is and even if you do manage to hit a survivor, a lot of times it would have been more efficient to just keep with the chase as the RNG God's might decide your chains all spawned through obstacles and snap immediately).
Against solos he can be relatively good but I can (generally) cream a group of solos no matter what killer I'm running. So unless someone REALLY likes Pinhead, there's nothing he really brings to the table that other killers can't do but better.

I don't usually even consider that factor but that is true, as a newer player would find that very discouraging.

I can't decide to buy him or Pyramid Head. They both scare the bejesus out of me, I just can't figure out which one scares me more !
1 -
Yeah, twins are really low on my priority list to unlock and play. At least Bubba's fun on his own and has the anti-grind perk.
0 -
I mean, Twins are fun, so if they get the DLC for twins, that's awesome.
0 -
wait, why not play clown?
you could say "I think we all know who the real clown is here... me."
0 -
how dare.
😤
0 -
well, yeah.
infants aren't known for their bloodlust.
0 -
Not the killer. I was named clown playing another killer because they just insulted me in chat. I never reply. That's the experience playing as killer.
0 -
I would have played him. But he's so boring. Besides, I myself really don't want to face any Pinheads. They are so annoying xd
0 -
no, I know, I was joking.
0 -
I was thinking about that but I wasn't sure you are joking lol
0 -
no problem.
0 -
1. He sucks
2. No more voice lines
3. I don't want to fund NFTs
5 -
Basement Bubbas have morals. Of courss, they'd boycott NFTs.
4 -
This is what is just gonna happen with most new killers. We saw this with Twins, Trickster, Nemesis, and Pinhead. Probably the Artist as well. They will be just... Forgotten in a week. Sure there will obviously be that group that mains them and plays them and sure maybe she'll be played more out of some of these. Like how Nemesis is seen more than Pinhead but he still isn't all that common anyways. New killers aren't enough anymore for people.
0 -
Killers: no, please don't.
3 -
I mean, for the latest Killers, they just aren't good enough to appeal to people who aren't in it for the "Holy #########, Nemesis in DBD!" fad.
The Artist might change that if she isn't gutted upon release like Pinhead was.
Legitimately, Pinhead's chains actually stuck around long enough to make an impact during the PTB, and I dunno what they did to them, but now they're about as useful as wet newspaper chains.
0 -
I try, but woof can he struggle against people that know what to do. And that's before the addon nerfs hit.
0 -
I don't think strength is the problem. Sure it's part of it. People want stronger killers but people do play Nemesis a decent bit. He is mediocre but I think people like how smooth he is. The tentacle feels nice to use. Pinhead's chains don't feel too nice to use. Trickster feels like doodie with the recoil on his hands. Especially on console. Twins with that Victor nerf felt awful. I feel like they are played more when they feel good. Not because of the strength. No one would be playing these characters at all in my opinion if that was the case.
1 -
The part where a badly aimed miss with Pinhead will freeze you in place with no view for 3s or something and no way to cancel early is definitely not nice to use. Constantly aiming at the ground or obstacles just in case.
0 -
Yeah it doesn't feel nice. If they made it nicer with small little changes I feel there will be a lot more players.
0 -
If the devs changed his power so that the survivors don't have full control over how effective his power is, then maybe more people would play as him.
1 -
His chains are the big problem with his kit, imho.
He could be pretty decent if chains took a little longer to break and you could walk through them without breaking them.
