Do you lose MMR if you die after your teammate DC early?

Yes you do.
Nothing matters to MMR other then kills or escapes.
This is one of many inherent flaws of the system.

Stop worrying about your MMR. If anything you should want to keep it low. You'll only end up complaining about how sweaty the game is if you keep driving it up.

I am enjoying good teammates, if anything I want to keep my surv mmr high as possible
