When a topic thread is merged and closed

I saw a ton of merged threads with closed status just now. I can still click into them and the post comment box at bottom is still there, though I did not try to comment.

I'm just curious what's up with that. I don't see anything special about those threads, no warnings that I see or obvious deletions. Not seeing any obvious signs anything was merged. If thread is closed then why comment box still there?

    I’m pretty sure it will text to main thread.

    if let’s say thread “b” gets merged into thread “a” than commenting on thread “b” puts in on thread “a”
