Why Does It Feel Like Killer Is Only Here For Survivor Amusement?
Seriously. I feel like the killer is legit only in the game to be the survivors play thing. Like a giant punching bag with a heartbeat. Of you out played me? I have Perk A,B,C and D and they all give me another chance when I make mistakes. Killers legit get zip. Every perk they get that does something decent is easily taken out of the game or only works at endgame. Even then it does not feel like the killer has a fair shot at this game at all. Unless of course you are Blight or Nurse.

sure

To be fair, if killer was the dominate role, the opposite would be true. It makes more sense to just have one player be the jester, rather than four.
5 -
Just play Bubba and facecamp
3 -
Because you are! 80% of the player base needs something to entertain them. Something to tea bag and laugh at with their friends. Even though this is kinda a horror game.In this game they need 20% to pretend to be a threat, to amuse the 80%.
13 -
But then why should either side be the jester? Why can't they just balance the game so it doesn't feel like you can only have fun or have a shot playing one side?
22 -
Sometimes I feel the devs wanted this to be a 4 player co-op game where you fought an AI monster/killer, but they didn't know how to program a working AI enemy at the time and just opted to have players fill in the monster role.
14 -
That's impossible in a game like dbd where both sides are playing a different game, especially when all killers play completely different.
The game will always be killer sided or survivor sided and can not be balanced on both sides due to such.
0 -
Because that's the intention of DbD.
Once you learn to accept that you are essentially just intended to facilitate the fun of survivors, and that any kills over 2 are gravy, you'll have a lot more fun.
It sounds cynical, but I'm actually being genuine. That's how I try to look at it, and it helps.
Why survivors have to constantly be BM about it though...that's anyone's guess.
3 -
Because that's the concept of the game.
1 -
Because survivors cry whenever killers are good and the devs refuse to rework survivor objectives so they can have enjoyment outside of chases.
Ultimately the killer should be a threat and survivors should want to try to avoid the killer as much as possible vs the current meta of let's run the killer around for multiple gens because most maps have enough resources to do so.
1 -
Yeah...
6 -
Nurse is incredibly powerful...in theory. Even some of the best killers in the world struggle to do consistently well on her.
Blight is strong, but is just so janky and some maps can be annoying for him.
Spirit is still very strong.
Huntress - see Nurse.
Those are pretty much the killers that can realistically compete at top MMR. Hag used to be up there, but she really struggles against booners.
1 -
Its like a game of DnD. You are the monster being ran by the DM. You are there to challenge the party, maybe drop one or two, but ultimately the good guys are supposed to win and total party kills ruin the mood.
1 -
i main hag and can confidentally say that i ######### on booners. one tip i can give you is run nurse's calling. it will help you find the boon.
0 -
Doesn't scratchy boon completely counteract nurse? Or is nurse not an aura perk?
0 -
Because they are. Survivors making the killer an attraction has been a weird culture thing for years in the community. YouTube videos displaying that. You can go queue up as a Trapper and most likely get treated with no respect and only starts seeing you as an actual threat if you're in a good place in the match or you're using S tier killers and you're good at it.

"Such a pity."
2 -
Because you face way too many SWF when your MMR goes up. Solo que is often another story. Your lucky to see one person escape. Heck, your lucky to see a gen get done after running the killer for 2 minutes straight.
Two very different games. That's called poor game design by the way. Just thought I'd bring that up.......
1 -
To be fair I have had matches where I thought they were SWF and they were not. High MMR is not just swfs that are the issue. If a Solo group knows what they are doing and they have the right info it makes the game as if it were an SWF

Because Killers are just an asset for the Survivor experience
3 -
That's exactly what happened now, i went to play killer to try to have fun and i ended up playing with 4 survivors extremely tryhards with the same 4 perks (DH, BT, DS and Unbreakable)
They bullied me so much that I decided to turn off the video game and watch Netflix
2 -
Doesn't DBD tries to imitate 80's horror movie? If it does then killer should be the dominant role and survivors need to sweat to survive, like any 80's horror movie.

Survivors are not entitled to 4Es every game.

i am not asking for a 4k. I am asking why it feels like survivors have so much working in their favor? I get as a team they should equal to the killer but one on one is so chorish and stupid now a days I don't enjoy it. Lets hold forward and waste a whole minute. Lets run this circle where the killer cant catch up and then drop this extremely safe pallet all while my team mates run Prove thyself and toolboxes. It just seems as though The killer loses before you even load in is all.
2 -
Fellow killers, please join me in my stoic, silent suffering. We truly are an underclass.
2 -
Just facecamp with Bubba, you'll feel the true power.
2 -
I use to not to do because I left it was unsporting, but now I no longer care.
2 -
Because this game is a random mess. It has too much RNG, too much variables (how many and which items? which add ons? which perks? which map? which windows are open, how many pallets?). It will NEVER be fully balanced in a way that highly competitive games are balanced.
And honestly, if the killer would be this absolutely dominating power guy who just walks around and kills everyone without much effort (which basically is what most killer mains want when they demand the "power role"), the game would die in days. Why should people still play survivor, it's much more boring and risky because you often can't play the match till the end AND you're forced to rely on others.

Don't worry, the devs are looking to see how they can take that away from you, too, as per their last Q&A.
1 -
Their is something wrong with us mentally to like playing killer. Its legit torture some nights.
0 -
We are the clowns until they got down again an again an again... Dont choose battles you feel you cannot win...
0 -
Or perhaps you just.
Take this game too seriously.
0 -
No way, i play to win. 13 matches without survivors.

Big joke. Try playing solo queue at night where you're better off running endgame builds than actual perks because your teammates are worthless and go down in seconds.
