Plague's Whispers are unreasonably loud

I have hearing issues and still find myself turning my headset down at times even when not on full volume. I can't imagine how bad it is for people with pristine hearing.

I agree. It's really distracting specially since you do need to hear what's around you.

Glad someone else is annoyed by it, drives me crazy. It's super obnoxiously loud.

Not to mention it makes it very difficult to actually here anything else, it drowns out other sounds. Really needs to be turned down.

They did it on purpose for the rank 50/1900 survivors. The same people think a head height branch on the macmilan trees should stop chainsaws too. 🤪

Feel free to stop by the store and purchase some survivor cosmetics though.

One of the reason I also hate the perk "whispers". It's more annoying than actually useful.

Plague should get some kind of border to show the power is still active instead of random sounds.

I have tinnitus and it can be a sob sometimes, definitely needs to be tuned down.

    I don’t like it either :/

It shouldn’t even be in the game at all. Just like the flashing exposed when Myers gets tier 3 and Billy’s roars. Devs need to understand a fine line between cool visual/audio mechanics and QoL.

Demo is probably the worst case of this.

Plague - I get it. In red vommy mommy mode, she has to have some sort of drawback.

Doc...I kind of like his noises. Gets me into a real villain mindset. I'm a monster of lightning and pain.

Demo though sounds like he's permanently halfway through a slice of pizza and his footsteps are ridiculously noisy.

I believe that, Like how the devs keep those "Black Circles" around for Hooks and Finished Gens, and among other unnecessary seeming downsides to perks/add-on's/powers, The whispers Plague gets after gaining Corrupt Purge is meant to nerf your ability to track survivors via sound on purpose. Why would they do that you ask? Simply because the benefit of having to put up with it is Arguably the most powerful ranged attack in the game. Sure you can't track survivors footsteps at all, and can barely hear injured grunts of pain, but if you get any of them in your sight and range, it's practically a guaranteed down, at least it is against new-decent survivors.

Against Very Decent-Skilled/Veteran survivors however, it's very unnecessary, but the devs don't "balance" the game around the higher skilled players, as they don't make up the majority, and instead choose to try and focus on how a new player would feel going up against the killers mechanics, or playing as the killer in question. It's just their way of trying to make it fun for both, but in all honesty, having a downside to using Plagues power, such as the lack of ability to keep track of the survivors whereabouts via sound, is much more frustrating than "balanced" feeling, and as many have said already, it's also much too loud.

When they initially put Spirit and Ghost Face on their PTB's, their downsides to using powers were insanely overblown. Not only couldn't spirit NOT even see survivors, but her Vacuum noise while phasing completely took over your ears when you were playing as her, making it impossible to hear survivors as well. Ghost Face's stands out as the worst offender though, as when he was in his Night Shroud, survivors could hear a ghostly wind sound, directionally pointing out his whereabouts, when he was within 24 meters of them... which completely defeated the purpose of going into stealth at all.

While those downsides were removed because of how laughably stupid/counter intuitive they were, Plagues whispers just weren't considered too high of a downside to warrant removal, but they could've at least lowered the volume a bit.

Count me in for the "can never run Whispers" crowd. It's too annoying. Can't the perk just light up when there's a survivor nearby? No?

I've grown to grudgingly accept Plague's mantra, but it does damage your ability to locate non-sick survivors and I would prefer it to be toned down. (And I cannot unhear "don't go to space" in it now, which I'm sure is a far cry from the Akkadian it's supposed to be.)

I'm like 99% sure they use to cripple an already beast of a killer during the corrupt purge

As a Plague player I don't mind them that much. I hope if their volume is reduced that they are still audible. Taking them away feels kind of like taking Pinhead voice lines away

You are aware that you are in a position to propose a change to these things, yes?
