Map Concept for The Twins

Hey there again! I have came up with a new map concept for The Twins and I’ll be sharing it. As always let me know what you think and be sure to give me some feedback as well, I’m always open to hearing it. Cheers!

  • The main building would be a wooden church with a large bell tower.
  • Snow covers the map and whenever you walk outside, you’ll be able to hear crunching underneath your character’s feet and when you look down it will leave footprints in the snow. It’ll be a blizzard (a nice contrast to the slight flurries of snow in Ormond.)
  • Inside the church are church pews, burning candles, and a blood-covered altar with lit candles and the body of a priest tied down to boards pieced together, which is the centerpiece. The corpse’s stomach has been crudely split open and a rat fills the wound, poking its head out occasionally.
  • You’ll be able to hear the howling winds of the snow outside the church. The frequencies of the wind will differ, sometimes even sounding like a woman’s screams and cries.
  • The doorway behind the altar leads to a lengthy staircase in which you can ascend up into the bell tower itself. There will be a generator that spawns here and whenever it’s repaired, it’ll cause the bell to ring.
  • On the outside of the church will stand pyres with the charred corpses of three accused “witches” burning.
  • The period for the map will be set in the 17th-century with Colonial structures making up the tiles and walls of the map.
  • There will be small, wooden houses you’ll be able to enter. Inside these houses will be religious (non-denominational) items to give atmosphere, such as a small, shattered  statue of a woman (similar to the statue in Father Campbell’s Chapel). Some houses will have tables of food laying about with flies and maggots swarming the rotting food.
  • In small barns near the houses, there will be the mutilated carcasses of various animals (pigs, chickens, and cows)
  • You can look at heaps of snow on the map and see hands, feet, and even the heads of some villagers who have succumbed to the harsh elements.
  • Near one exit gate, there will be a broken carriage that lies between a man’s corpse and a lantern. Various items will be scattered about, such as bags of flour, farming tools, and clothing.
  • The shack will be placed beside the pyres, it is in the structure of a wooden shed. It is filled with gardening tools and hanging from the rafters of the roof will be the carcasses of black cats. There is a coffin holding up god-pallet, the top of the coffin is opened to show the body of a woman with frost covering her eyebrows and on her face, you can actually see the signs of decomposition setting in due to the weather.
